Blacker Family Dental

I have dealt with some very bad dentists, some good dentists and a couple of very good dentists. Only twice in my life have I had dental care at the level of Blacker Dental. This first visit was EXCEPTIONAL from the front desk to when they handed me the little bag of toothpaste, brush and floss. The hygienists and doctor Mitch were thorough, professional and efficient. I would recommend this dental practice to anyone who hates going to the dentist, your life will never be the same. I promise.

Super nice people, and good at what they do. That makes for a good dental experience.

I was referred to this dentist from my dentist that retired. I needed a root canal and the the elder dentists son did my root canal with only 2 years experience as being a dentist. he botched it and I ended up having to go to 2 oral surgeons that ended with thousands of dollars out of my pocket. That same dentist also drilled into the tooth next to the root canal which caused my 4 tooth bridge to be damaged and needing a bone graft on one tooth and loosing my bridge resulting in hours of painful tooth extractions, crowns etc. because of his mistake. My other dentist always sent me to an oral surgeon to do a root canal. don't go to this denrist because, they will ruin your teeth.

Such an inviting atmosphere. Everyone was so kind & personable and made me feel comfortable. They took excellent care of me and educated me on everything I would need to have done and why. Dr. Kyle referred me to a specialist and they even made the appointment for me, which was something I am not used to. It seems like they really truly care about their patients which I absolutely love. I used to get anxiety about having to go to the dentist and now I’m looking forward to going back to get the care that I need! Thank you Blacker Family Dental!

TITLE: THE BEST DENTAL GROUP IN TOWN! We have been seeing this dentist for almost 40 years. He has always been on top of our dental needs, conservative with his work (offering advice for better dental hygiene and pointing out "watch areas" rather than just doing procedures which might not really be necessary). When work needs to be done he is very thorough, professional and efficient! If a specialist is needed he doesn't hesitate to send us to a very reputable person whom he knows personally. His charges are competitive and he accepts most dental plans. We have followed him around the Kansas City area for years and that says a lot. Recently his son has joined the practice and he maintains the high dental standards of his father as well! Blacker Family Dental is where you should go for all your dental needs!

Most people share a certain hesitation and unease when it comes to going to the dentist and for me that is particularly strong. My wonderful wife strongly suggested I go with the kids for our checkups and I can saw the staff there were so amazing that, while I don't exactly look forward to going back, I'm not at all worried. They seriously put me at ease and turned a typically stressful into one that was calming and honestly a joy. In fact during my cleaning today the hygienist had me laughing out loud, something I can absolutely state has never happened to me in a dentist's office before. Bottom line: I'm so glad my wife forced me to go and I'd recommend Dr. Blacker and his family and staff to anyone.

Communicative & considerate. These folks do a great job. I appreciate their honesty in recommending necessary treatment instead of insisting on additional costly dental work, and also that they checked up afterwards to ensure healing after a procedure was going well. I feel compelled to write a review for a KC area provider that is actually of good quality, as opposed to some ridiculous & unfortunate experiences with some of the hospitals here!

Dr. Blacker’s staff is top notch! They go above and beyond for their patients! Especially Sonya at the front counter! I’ve been going here since I was a child and Dr Blacker never fails ❤️

You can't find a dentist like this anymore. I feel very lucky to now be a patient at Blacker Family Dental. I have had my fair share of terrible experiences in the dentistry realm. But both Dr.Blackers (father & son) actually care about your oral health and longevity of your teeth! They recently saved me from a world of trouble, confirming I in fact did not need a tooth extracted. I am very grateful for their thorough/excellent patient care and knowledge, the front desk ladies are wonderful, and Kara was the best most informative dental hygienist I have ever had. Highly recommend this office. Would give 10 stars if I could!

I had a great experience with Blacker Family Dental and, in particular, Mitch Blacker. I was well-cared for during a standard dental cleaning, followed thereafter by consultation regarding a bonding procedure to improve my smile. Mitch and his team have excellent patient rapport. The bonding procedure was scheduled and done excellently. I would absolutely recommend BFD.

Blacker Family Dental has done a wonderful job fixing my grill. They are honest and open about the work that needed to be done. They were also flexible in getting me in for the needed work in a timely fashion. They also are caring and donate their time and services to the Veterans Community Project for people in need, witch is meaningful to myself. Would highly recommend them for any dental work you may need.

As a new patient I was very impressed with blacker family dental as a whole did a great job fixing my chipped tooth and made not only a plan of action for overall dental health but also improving the appearance of my smile which was greatly appreciated it’s something that’s always bothered me but every dentist I’ve been to prior has never seemed interested in anything considered “cosmetic” the cherry on top was the complementary electric toothbrush and toothpaste dr blacker gave me after the appointment and anything not covered by insurance he offered me a discount everyone here was pleasant and helpful best experience I’ve ever had!

I have been visiting Blacker Family Dental for 16 years. Dr. Mitch and Dr. Kyle Blacker are wonderful! They are very kind to their patients and give great recommendations. Highly recommend.

The front staff and assistants were great, but that does little to detract from the elder Dr. Blacker. Before service was rendered, I was given a cost. Once in the chair, that cost went up. Agreeing to it, I let him proceed. Once done, the price to be paid at the desk was even (much) higher. I demanded to speak to him about it, only to find out he'd quickly left for the day out the back door. Another possible reason for that escape was that he'd caused a gap between two of my lower front teeth that had to be fixed by another dentist (at a different office). Only go there for the friendly receptionists, not for any dental work.

Dr Blacker put a crown on my upper right tooth that had cracked. The crown fell out less than three months of having it done. He kept the crown and would not refund any of the money I paid for the crown. I have always trusted Dr Blacker but this was a very poor way to do business. It has caused me to seek other dental sources for my dental needs. I will also be reporting him to the Dental Board!

Staff was very friendly. Dr. Blacker was very open and honest with assessment and suggestions. Process was efficient and easy!

I am a new patient of Blacker Family Dental. I had a fear of the dentist from bad experiences in the past. To be honest I stopped going which created tooth pain and all the issues that I have now but Today I experienced some of the BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE that I have ever had. It changed my whole way of thinking about dentist! Unfortunately I had to have a tooth extraction but because of D. D. S Mitch Blacker and D. D. S Kyle Blacker I have a new outlook on Dentist. I am a new patient with Blacker Family Dental and I will be recommending friends to come there for excellent dental work by Dr. Mitch Blacker. He is kind and gentle, an extremely knowledgeable dentist, very detailed on many levels, and his work is exceptional, in my opinion!

I came from out of town, because Dr. Blacker cosmetically bonded my teeth 6 years ago. I had a chipped tooth so I called to see how much it would be to fix it. Marion told me it would be around $119. After fixing my tooth I came to the counter and got hit with $197. I questioned the receptionist that was currently working there why it was that amount when Marion told me on the phone a different Amount. Marion came out the door with a nasty rude tone of voice, not really resolving the issue or backing up what she said on the phone. Very unappreciated since my grandparents of many years would pay their hard earned money to see Dr.Blacker. I’m A little disappointed and I feel they were definitely over priced.

Had my first experience with FBD yesterday and although the atmosphere (like a lot of family dental est) was pretty outdated, the place was cool, clean, had water/plenty mag, things to occupy kids. People were pretty nice and service was exceptional: quick/efficient, listened well (which is important to me, since I hate repeating myself) and generally seemed interested in making a good impression. Heck they even noticed some stuff my last dentist missed. Glad I discovered them.

Dr. Blacker and his team absolutely the best! My family of 7 have been patients for 27 years - even when our insurance didn't apply. He is very patient and talks through scenarios. The people in the front office are some of the sharpest doctor office staff around. We have never had an issue with an insurance claim or billing. Trust that is saying a lot!!

Great service from all staff. Linda and Trinity are so nice and accommodating! I didn’t realized it had been so long since my last dentist appointment and no one made me feel bad about it. If you are looking for a new dentist this is the place, stop looking!

This place is amazing! Everyone is super nice and makes you feel like u are apart of the "family". A huge shout out to Kyle Blacker and his father as well as the techs that have Assisted with them! As someone who'd previously had absolutely nightmarish experiences at dentists, this office and its staff should be the standard of the industry. Absolute professionalism, while still making one feel like family. Your comfort, both physical and financial are their primary concerns. The staff has a wonderful rapport, both with patients and each other. I would bring my kids and/or my grandparents to this office. Absolutely the best in the business.

Over the years they have; answered all of my many questions, returned my after hours phone call the same night, fit me into their busy schedule for an emergency, taken extra care to keep me comfortable, called me in the evening to check on me after a procedure and continue to make me and my family feel like their most important patient. Wonderful practice. Dr. Blacker and his staff are #1 in my book. Everyone from the time you check in at the front desk makes you feel welcome. All staff treat you with kindness and a great smile. They take the time to explain everything they are doing answer all questions. Make you feel so comfortable and relaxed. I love the fact there is an on-site lab. I have a partial and no one has ever known it was a partial. Dr. Blacker and his staff are the best. I have gone to this dentist for years and would never consider going anyplace else. This place insisted that I do a crown on a tooth that could've held off - telling me that they would work with me on payments, wouldn't turn me over to collections, and I expressed that I was still uncomfortable because I knew Autumn/Winter would be hard for me financially. I'm raising 5 kids on my own, with no additional support, and going through a difficult divorce; which they knew also. They agreed to work with me with small payments and I agreed to pay the balance off at tax return time (2017). They turned me into collections Dec 11th! I was contacted today 12/20.. 5 days before Christmas! I contacted them and they wouldn't even take a payment from me - Marion was very rude to me about the issue! So now I've paid my balance and I'll never go back there, nor will I ever recommend them to anyone else! Merry Christmas Dr. Blacker! And thank you for throwing a struggling single mother under the bus without so much as a phone call to try and resolve this first!
