This isn't our main dentist because of convenience for me, but I've taken two of my kids here for special cases. Both times I have been blown away by this office. The dentists are so great, never put me down or made me feel stupid for any reason. The staff is all so caring, considerate, great with kids. My 5 year old had a crown put on and all of the staff came to check on him at one point during his procedure. I have nothing but good things to say about this office and the people who work in it.

I'm still kind of reeling from my son's dentist appointment. Our experience was so horrible. First, we've kept our bubble very tight during Covid and I was shocked to see that there were so few precautions taken. I only saw one staff member wearing a mask correctly, and the majority of them either weren't wearing them at all or they were wearing them only on their mouths. (Including Dr. Coplin and the dental assistant who, of course, had to be right in my kid's face for a prolonged period of time.) There were multiple people in the waiting room at a time (also not encouraged to wear masks), lots of shared surfaces (including one pen to sign documents with), and no social distancing. Next, my son was terrified from the get-go because there was a very scary movie playing on the TV in the waiting room when we arrived. (I asked them to change it, and they did.) Wait times were much longer than expected, which was difficult when I had a little guy who was hungry but couldn't eat for his procedure. We waited about an hour and a half before our procedure (though some of that time was waiting for meds to kick in). Once the procedure started, they put what I thought were noise-cancelling headphones on my son (which would have been awesome and made sense) but then halfway through the procedure there was a comment about the "movie he was listening to". We like to make informed decisions about what our kids are going to watch or listen to, and after the waiting room TV I wasn't sure it was something that was appropriate and I wish I would've been asked before that happened. There was also a lot of talk about, "do this to be brave", "do this to be strong", "be tough", "be like Spiderman" (who he has no idea who that is). The last time we went to see Dr. Coplin, it was the same sort of thing and my little guy cried later in the day and told me he was trying to be brave but the dentist kept telling him he had to try harder. It broke my heart. There were also staff members arguing and snapping at each other, and clearly some tension between the receptionist and others. If a three year old can pick up on it, you need to reign it in! We are trying to raise kind, sweet, adventurous kids and you shouldn't have to un-teach things from a place that should be safe like a dental office.

I brought my baby girl (3 weeks) in for a lip tie revision yesterday morning after struggling with a shallow latch since birth. Our experience was great start to finish. The woman at reception was so nice. Our dental assistant Garianne was informative about how the procedure and after care would go. She was also incredibly kind and supportive. Dr Coplin didn’t just jump straight to checking my daughters mouth and doing the procedure. Instead he listened to my struggles, asked questions about my impression of our latch, answered my questions, assured me he’d do what he could, and then got on to checking her. He was so quick doing the procedure, it took less than a minute. They even gave me a 24hr line to contact them with any questions during the healing process. You can tell the staff really cares about their patients. We’re already feeling relief while breastfeeding, and are so thankful for our experience here!

Dr Coplin has taken great care of my Grandkids! A few were babies when they started seeing him! They love going to see them and have fun at their visit because it’s set up just for kids!

We took our infant daughter in for a lip and tongue tie correction after a month of her being gassy and unhappy, and never being able to eat enough, not to mention my wife’s almost unbearable pain trying to breastfeed. I can’t overstate how phenomenal the entire staff was. Dr. Coplin didn’t sugarcoat anything but was still kind and thoughtful, and extremely respectful towards parents making the best decisions for their own kids. Thoroughly impressed with our experience here, and the operation results are wonderful. Baby is happier than she’s ever been and mom is pain free.

Just had a visit there today for our 4 year old son and let me tell you. It was the best experience I’ve ever had with the Dentist Office (including myself). My 4 y/o had a big hole in one of his molars and i wanted him to be seen ASAP. Went to Alcan dental first, they couldn’t do anything over there so they referred us to Anchorage Pediatric Dentistry, tried to make an appointment ASAP but they couldn’t fit us in so disappointing there. Called Alaska Dentistry for Kids instead and they fit us in! The front desk lady was sooo nice prior to visit and at the visit. Felix was our dental assistant, and I’m telling you he was the best! They actually all were. He was super tentative to our child, explained to us detail by detail on what was going on, what was about to happen and our options. He made my son so comfortable and us comfortable that we knew we did not make a mistake coming here. I’m a picky person when it comes to my kids especially if they have to be sedated. Dr.Coplin did such an amazing job with fillings and the silver crowning. My son did not cry was so ever, he was so encouraging the whole entire time with him, explained to us and my son was he was doing step by step. Last but not least, THIS WAS HIS FIRST VISIT and I’m soooooo thankful they made it the best for him because my son, he hates hates doctors or any medical office with a bad experience we had at the ER. Sorry for making this super long, but for anyone looking around to see which place they should take their kids for dental work, ITS THIS PLACE. I recommend this 100%. Can’t wait to go back and take my oldest as well. Without a doubt making this our permanent place for our kids. Couldn’t thank you enough Alaska Dentistry for Kids, you guys live up to your practice.

I’ve been taking my girls to Dr.Coplin for over 7 years now. Always very professional and great with the littles. Even while working on my two year old (basic exam) he was very patient and gentle. Easy to converse with and you can tell he really cares about his little patients. The entire staff is excellent.

I can’t express the incredible amount of kindness that was flowing throughout this office. From the reception, dental assistants and Dr.Koplin himself! My Daughter had to get silver caps on her back molars this morning and he was very honest and upfront about everything. They made my family very Comfortable and I wish they saw adults!! I am very pleased with our whole experience and will recommend them to everyone!!

We have been going to Dr. Koplin for 4 years and he and his entire staff are utterly amazing! My two girls now 7 & 10 ask to go to the dentist and will skip around singing”we are going to the dentist” over and over! The youngest one has had to have exstenive work done. She loves going! I know many families who bring their children here and all have had amazing experiences from the receptionist all the way back! Fabulous team that works together flawlessly ! I would and have in the past highly recommend Alaska’s Dentistry for Kids! ❤️

Relief, that is what I experienced with Dr. Coplin. I’ve been able to dodge major dental care outside of a cleaning for a while now. However, recently my son had some cavities that needed filing. It was an amazing experience, so much so that I have switched dentist for my children. The staff is wonderful and caring! I noticed a few negative post and honestly was speechless. As a parent, dental work can be stressful and I understand the frustrations that come along with that. However, with Dr. Coplin and his staff my family and I have had the best experience thus far.

Dr. Coplin is my children's dentist. When our daughter had to have dental work done, he ensure us and walked us thru the procedure and even had me (mom) in with her so that was great. He's also got a great staff. Very kid friendly environment as well.

Dr Coplin is the reason my daughter doesn't trust dentists. She tried to say she was hurting but he never stopped. With some research I found out that he isn't a pediatric dentist. I would not recommend!

Dr Coplin and his staff are amazing. I took my son here for lip and tongue tie revision at the recommendation of our pediatrician and after a lot of research on my part. I called and got an appointment the next day! Dr Coplin was very knowledgeable about lip and tongue tie. My son is only 6 weeks old and he was very gentle with him and the entire procedure only lasted a few minutes. Afterwards they explained how to clean and care for my son's mouth and gave me support and a space to breastfeed. I would highly recommend Dr Coplin to anyone facing breastfeeding issues related to lip and tongue tie. I will definitely be taking my son back for any other dental work!

Dr. Coplin and his team were (and continue to be) AMAZING! I highly recommend this office and can't imagine going anywhere else! Thank you Dr. Coplin, Kathy, and Garianne for a wonderful experience. I look forward to seeing you all again soon :) The entire office was professional, compassionate, and really took the time to make sure we were comfortable and educated about the procedure. His assistant even checked in on us to make sure we were fairing well at home after the revision. My 10 week old got a tongue and lip tie revision last week. We had been struggling with poor weight gain, shallow latch, fussiness while nursing, reflux, overtiredness, and gassiness. At first I figured it was normal baby fussiness, but then my milk supply took a dive. We experienced significant improvements within the first 24 hours and Ethan was smiling as soon as we lifted him from the table. He doesn’t even seem to mind the recommended cleaning.

My son, who is 2 yrs old, had a wonderful experience with this dental clinic. I asked him after we left if he was scared and he said he wanted to go back to see the dentist. That is a big plus. As a parent, I appreciated the way Dr. Coplin explained things to me. He was very thorough and very knowledgeable of what I should be expecting to happen, and have a very good explanation for recommendations, as to why it is needed to done. My son felt comfortable as the doctor and all the staff of this dental facility are very friendly. According to my 2 yr old, they are cool, awesome, and funny! :)

There is a reason one can get in any day of the week for an appointment. Dr Coplin was extremely unprofessional with my children which is why we stopped going to Alaska Dentistry For Kids. Look at all the options of great dentists in Anchorage before choosing this one.
