My wife and I drove an hour and a half today to see her sister who has been in Hamilton Medical Ctr Dalton for quite some time, but had recently been released from MICU and moved to a floor room. Over the past several weeks we’ve made multiple visits to this hospital. Upon this arrival we were “greeted” by Naomi, and this is not the first time we were “greeted” by Naomi and her uncontrolled level of condescension. She informed us that only one person was allowed in the room at a time. I acquiesced and told my wife to go ahead and I would stay in the waiting room and let her visit her twin sister. Naomi piped in and rudely exclaimed “we don’t have any open waiting rooms.” My wife went upstairs and I looked at Naomi wanting to educate her on what the real world was like, but kept my thoughts to myself as she in her pugnaciously millennial manner raised her hand and waived, while exclaiming “good bye”. As stated, this isn’t the first time we’ve witnessed Naomi’s non customer facing behavior, but the pleasure she exhibited was by far unacceptable. We hope you take this unfortunate feedback as an opportunity to train, educate and replace those employees who interact with the public.

This is the slowest hospital that I have ever been to and they don’t even help you for what you are there for.

This is the second time in two days that my fiancée has came to the emergency room for severe pain, due to lack of hydration from covid. The doctor came in once in 4 hours. Fold her he understood the wait time was ridiculous, and that he would get her an IV to help. Again we never saw him again and multiple people had walked out. This is not the only time I've been with someone or had problems with the facility. Something needs to be done. This experience was god awful

If I could give it less than 1 star I would. First of all, you usually end up waiting around 8-10 hours to go home. Second, don't expect your nurse to check on you unless you absolutely need them and then it takes about another hour before anyone comes to the room. The test results take about 4 hours or longer to come back even though the Dr says oh it's only going to be an hour and a half.I will never come back to this hospital. I will drive to the next town over.At least there you don't wait a whole freaking day to get to go home.

This is one of the worst hospitals in the area!!! I dont know who is in charge here or what level of hierarchy is used here but things need to change. When a 12 yr old child is in a room for over 24hr and the nurse has only came by 5 times, there is a problem. The staff here at the nurses station is present you can see them and you can hear them talking and cutting up just feet away. Also being in a room wasnt an option for us. We was in a "room" that was in the hallway with curtains around us... I have had better experiences at murray county hospital.

Staff are friendly, sometimes there is a long wait to be seen, but that is understandable with everything going on with covid.

(Translated by Google) Terrible service, I do not recommend it, go and find another hospital or die better at home. And the night shift is the worst and they do not care about you, only the only quick thing they do is ask you for your insurance (Original) Pésimo servicio no lo recomiendo vallan y busquen otro hospital o mueran mejor en casa. Y turno de la noche es lo peor y no les importas solo lo unico rápido que hacen es pedirte tu aseguanza

I am extremely disappointed in this hospital... I drove my coworker here after he cut his finger with a diamond edge grinder all the way to the bone and nicking an artery. First I dropped him off at the emergency room and parked the car. After I parked the car I walked to the hospital thinking they would have taken him in. I found him standing outside waiting because they didn’t want to get blood on the floor. About two minutes went by after I was waiting outside with him until someone finally came and took him to check in. I went around the corner to speak with a lady about going with him so I could answer questions for my boss over the phone so he can fill out an incident report. They said only one visitor can go and his wife had just left to come see him. When I was done speaking with the woman I was appalled to walk around the corner and see him sitting in the waiting area. They ended up asking me to leave the hospital do to Covid 19 regulations which is fine I guess that’s regulation; but you’d think they might have a respect for more dangerous situations. While I was waiting in my car his wife pulled up next to me in the parking lot and I explained what had happened and my frustrations towards the hospital. Then she went in the hospital and found him still waiting... keep in mind she lives all the way in Chattanooga; so getting here takes pretty close to an hour. I am absolutely disgusted with the way Hamilton Medical Center has handled this entire situation. If I were to ever have a situation such as this I am disappointed to say that I would rather drive to Erlanger and be treated then come here.

Don’t go if you are having a panic attack. I was really apologetic about being there the whole time, but I just felt like it was something more than anxiety. When I told the nurse my symptoms, she rolled her eyes, walked out, closed the door and then I could hear her making fun of my symptoms and laughing about me to the other nurses. The doctor was nice, but I came in there complaining about chest pressure and how the left side of my head was pounding from my jaw to my temple etc. The doctor said I was too young to have heart problems which I understand, but nobody even attempted to look at my eyes or feel around the the pressure of my head. I could then hear the doctor (when the door was closed again) talking to everybody in the nursing station about how I was on so much medication and was probably a side effect and then I could hear the nurses laughing again. That is a scenario that definitely doesn’t help anxiety!

My mother had a biopsy done today. We asked if my brother could come and visit me while she was in surgery. They said no and I really understand that due to covid. On their site it says only 1 visitor per patient and no one under 18. More than 10 different times there were more than 1 visitor and at least 2 times I seen 2 different kids let in. How is that following the rules or being safe to others? Hippocrates. If it wasn't for her great doctor and the care she received in pre-op and post-op the score would not be 3 stars.

Absolutely horrible, slow as anything, and if you have a family member there don’t expect them to help you find them, they will just put you on hold for hours. Only come if you absolutely have to!!

Just ranting:: Emergency Department Service is good, and I dont mind the wait, but if i have to wait more than 3 hours to be put in a room, at least provide us with a blanket, bc you're freezing us to death. Its unacceptable. I can understand why y'all keep it cool/cold, but at the very least- let us borrow a blanket so we dont turn into a frozen solid popsicle. Thank you.

The ER is a place to go if you’re dying. If you’re waiting 3, 4, 5 hours then be glad you’re not the person in the back who’s dying and in need of immediate attention. The ER isn’t first come first serve, the sickest get treated first. If you’re well enough to wait 5 hours then you’re well enough to go to an urgent care instead. Educate yourselves on what an ER is actually for. The ER isn’t for your “dilawda” and turkey sammich fix. My mother’s life was saved in this ER and I will always be grateful.

An painfully awful five hour wait despite a small amount of patients and less than 50 min total of actual healthcare.

My husband was taken to the Emergency Room by ambulance 3 years ago, and Dr. Cohen's skill and powers of observation probably saved his leg. A few weeks ago, I was in the Emergency Room with my 86 year old mother who was having heart issues, and she received excellent care from the nurses and doctor on duty. My one concern was that she was placed in Room 16, and the nurse call button was across the room from her bed. She was hooked up to a number of monitoring devices, and could not get up. If I had not been with her, or if I had stepped away for any length of time, she would had been unable to get assistance. Relocating the nurse call button to a patient's bedside should be an easy fix, and the standard position for it.

They take too long to attend patients. No one should have to wait for more than 4 hours.

My Opinion: When is this Medical Center going to focus on customer service? Seems they are taking advantage of this area since there is no other ER with closest in chattanooga. I wonder if anyone has complained to the state board or there insurance company. The only way this FOR-PROFIT entity is going to care is if you hit them in the pocket (Money). Fines etc.... Georgia has about the same TORT law as all the 50 states which protect doctors and allows for no OWNERSHIP of your health. sO YOU ASK what happen to the PCP doctors and the influx of Walk-In clinics. Short answer: A PCP is your gatekeeper of your health. So they have great responsibility to treat you properly and can be held accountable. Because of insurance for malpractice is so high for PCP the ramp up of walk-in facilities have started to appear. You ask why: BECAUSE IN A WALKIN SETTING THERE IS NO OWNERSHIP OF YOUR HEALTH, MEANING THEY ARE NOT A GATEKEEPER OF YOUR HEALTH HISTORY WHICH IS EVERYTHING! People need to wake up and see how a lot of the trouble is not just insurance companies but the bottom line of DR.'s and ER facilities with your health in the BACK Seat. Money Money Money!! All I can say is people wake up..... They wait till your completely broke before they properly diagnosis you. Forget about PROACTIVELY working on your health.... It has to be poking them in there face to see. Because ignoring a small problem that leads to major problem is $$$$$$$$ for them. They rather you be busted so they can make more money from procedures and tests. That's why people are not catching cancer EARLY. No money in it for the drug companies or Dr/Facilities.... people need to start treating DR's the way they treat others. They are useless for the most part minus a Surgeon who I must respect as they are the real DR's. Everyone else just studied the prescription book and become DR.s. All they know how to do is prescribe. DR's need to be called Prescribe technicians........ When was the last time a DR truly diagnosed someone properly......... The series "HOUSE" LOL P.S. - Don't believe there "Your Dehydrated" diagnosis either. That just means THEY DONT KNOW WHATS WRONG WITH YOU BUT NEED TO GET YOU DISCHARGED because they maxed your insurance out or you have no insurance. Plain and simple they do not know whats wrong. If this happens I would recommend you get second opinion because our bodies are trying to tell you something before it breaks. They don't care because they want you to break.. $$$$$$$$$$$ GOLF $$$$$$$ VACATIONS $$$$$$$ You get my point.....
