I was nearly dead on my feet when my parents left me at the emergency room expecting I would receive some care. I was in no condition to fill out a form, but the woman at reception just kept asking "is your arm broken". I was there for psychiatric reasons, not because my arm was broken. They should have admitted me for psychiatric evaluation immediately. I had already seen my personal physician and he sent me to the hospital. I just couldn't fill out their damn forms because I was out of my mind. Instead of admitting me to help me, they had security escort me off the property. I waited in the back yard of a church across the street for my parents to come back and pick me up. I wish I could give them negative stars. I wish I could sue them.
Staff freindly and helpful
Been trying to get medicine refill while I'm in Florida. It's been a disaster. I've tried for weeks and now I'm completely out of medicine. I call Varnell Convenient Care and not only do they not answer the phone but the mailbox is also full and can't take any messages. I guess I'll die before I get anymore medicine smh...
As soon as u come in with a fever dont matter u sore throat and sinus infection they threw u in a room to expose u to posable cov. Not happy being I have a one yr old grandson in my home. I I kill my self staying away from and they threw me in a room to expose me to.
On 11/12/2021, I brought my son to the emergency room to treat his hot water burn on his tummy. The doctor talked to us and referred us to the Well Star burn center in Atlanta. So we left for Atlanta and Kyle was treated in Atlanta. But I received a bill from Hamilton medical center charging us for more than two thousand dollar for the emergency room. In the claim filed for insurance, it shows "Surgery-skin". But we receive no such treatment at Hamilton medical center! We were referred to Atlanta burn center. He did not receive treatment for his burn. We left! $2150 for just giving the address of Atlanta burn center is outrageous!
Why get a degree when you’re not going to do your job?
Nurses are nice and dr. Was also however i had an ultrasound when everything was done the nurse came in and told me everything was okay and i could go home however everything isnt okay.... I didnt get any answers i was looking for Dr. Only came in once to ask questions and do an exam never came in again... The dr. Didnt tell me anyresults No recommendations or anything.....ALL I WANTED TO KNOW WHAT WAS GOING ON AND HOW TO FIX IT.... Not everything is fine when cleary i wasnt fine
I am giving a 1 star rating because of the high cost. During my admission during 2017 I did not have hot water in the shower.I had some nurses who wer wonderful and some who were rude and condescending. During my visit in Julyof2021 the nurses were wonderful.BUT my linens were not changed very often,I did it myself once.I had to call for fresh ice water.Overall HMC is NOT the hospital it used to be.
Born here, it was mid. 3 stars.
Wow What a joke of a place . i will travel many miles to avoid this place for help in the future.
Although most of these reviews are not positive, my experience was wonderful. I overdosed on Tylenol and aspirin trying to get rid of tooth ache pain and Every single staff member went absolutely above and beyond to help me for almost 3 days straight. I do not remember most of there names but I do remember Lindsey, one of my nurses who was wonderful. I felt like an idiot for what I had done and everyone made sure to let me know that it can happen to anyone. So anyways thank you to the entire staff for helping me.
I came to Hamilton ER after motorcycle wreck. I had road rash all over my hands, they looked like hamburger meat. The initial nurse told us they would clean my hand and get it bandaged. After X-rays, I was told I had a broken tailbone and there was nothing they could do. They sent me home with two single pain pills. When I asked the nurse about cleaning my hand, she said "Just run it under some water when you get home." I went to get a second opinion, where I was told my tailbone was shattered into pieces told, not broken, and I was given some pain management at home. I will never go to this hospital again. Bare minimum care with terrible staff bedside manner who obviously do not want to be there. Do yourself a favor and drive the extra 20 minutes to Calhoun.
The ONLY good thing about this place is the nurse Morgan in the ER. We were admitted to Hamilton from the ER, waited over 12 hours for a room. After six hours with no pain medicine I was in a lot of pain and asking nurses about taking care of my pain medicine plan. BECKY, the managing nurse on floor 3, came into my room and told me to “stop acting like a child.” A MANAGER. I will be following up with appropriate administration about her behavior and the all around circus I’ve been dealing with since I got here. BECKY needs to be fired, her bedside manner is absolute trash. Someone needs to tell Jane Snipes about her staff... and I will be the one to do it.
My mother has had surgery not doing well she may not make it,we can only visit 1 at time we've went 3x the alarm going off to her room, the cover probably 10 blankets piled in middle of her bed, her face hands never washed. She begs for help her nurse acts like she hates her job, why is she there?, I don't think they ever walk in that door til someone else comes in, she cries hurting we ask them to calm doctor they never did her arm was swollen and the nurse Tori never walked in she rolled her eyes at me. I thought how awlful. Why are you here. My mother had hip surgery shes really bad.
Do not go here!! This is where you want to go if you are suicidal! Read these reviews!! They should be shut down for negligence. Shut it down!!
For the amount of money they charge you, you'd think the nurses would be a little nicer? These people are very rude and unprofessional. My father has some medical issues, he's in his 60s, and we have to take him sometimes since his blood pressure spikes every now and then. He has had issues with his kidneys since he was a little boy, he cannot drink anything but water or take certain medicine bc of this. The nurse wouldn't hear that though. She came in and told him to take some medicine but he refused and tried to explain his condition she even started to throw things in the trash and slammed the door after saying she would tell the doctor he was being "difficult". All he wanted was to know is what the medicine is they were giving him and would it hurt his kidneys.
If I could get anything that below 1 start for this Hamilton ER then I would. I brought my child here twice in the same day but never received any treatment besides the weight and temperature checked after waiting for 2 hours. The RN nurses took me and my child to the respiratory area of those who has COVID-19 just because of a slight fever (only 2 months old). I had to leave after waited for so long and went to different ER. Now they send me a bill and ask for my money. I'm not so sure if this is some kind of hospital fraud or not but DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE. Please read the review before come to this hospital. Might not die because of sickness but madness
Was there at 7pm. After 2 hours asked what's taking so long for the doctor to come was told she is taking care of sick patients. While my kid busted her ear open. After the 3 hour mark doctor came. She said my child needed stitches. Okay that's fine. I can not tell you how many times I've had my call light on nd noone would answer. Then they bring us back because my kid had to be sedated for 2 stitches. By the time all this was done it was 3am. I was there for 8 hrs..... there is no need for that long of a er vist. The dr was amazing the nurse was a bit rude then brought my kid a stuffed animal. They really need to get more staff so people aren't there for 8 hours for 2 stitches. I've never been to a er that took that long. 5 hrs maybe but not 8hr. I also asked for a complaint number and was told they don't have one to give me. That is the only reason I'm leaving my review here.
By far the worst experience ever.. Go to any hospital in the area but this one
The emergency room could care less
The Monoclonal Infusion Center is full of ANGELS. Michelle, Ashley and Stephanie are truly angels sent from God. I am so grateful for them. Thank you for making this experience wonderful
I’m giving the staff a 5 star rating because i was here today and yes i had to wait over 4 hours but amy the physician was the sweetest person ever . also i believe his name was david ! We are in crazy times right now especially with covid and i understand everyone is busy ! i had pain but they made me feel comfortable and i knew they were there to help !
Don't waste your time or risk your loved ones life with what a playground this is, I went to visit my mother after surgery and the front desk clerk lied to my face and told me she is allowed one visitor her entire stay, she has had no visitors and when I called to figure out why I was scoffed at! This is the top of the iceberg for this carnival.
Try to use another clinic, if you have opportunity!!! 7 hours in emergency with huge pain. Was pregnant. After 7 hours advice me take Ibuprofen. Really?!? Didn't tell me about problem with baby, after 2 weeks I lost him!!! Now I have a huge bill!! For Ibuprofen!! I can't believe!!!
My granny went there at 3:00 am,and didn’t get in a room til 6:00 am.and she said the nurses were on their phone the whole time,so she ripped out her iv and walked out as she should.
I’ve recently had surgery at Hamilton. The surgeon did an excellent job, but the staff that tended to me while I was in my room failed to meet expectations. I agree with previous reviewers regarding Hamilton’s billing practices.
Most unprofessional hospital I've ever seen. The nurse played across me holding me down while turning up the potassium. Burning like crazy. While I was screaming and crying begging her to stop she just screamed back that she couldn't.
I no issues with the staff or service. My biggest issue is Billing. Hamilton tends to cater to the wealthy. Even if you have insurance you still don’t know how much you’ll owe until you get the bill. The bill comes and BOOM it’s alarming and even better they want payment in full. If you don’t pay it in full, and send monthly payments on time of what you can afford THEY STILL SEND YOU TO COLLECTIONS! I filled out a financial assistance packet. They told me “I made too much” and wanted a minimum of “$200 a month for a payment plan. I can’t afford that on top of my other bills.. I paid what I could afford on time every month and WAS STILL SENT TO COLLECTIONS. Then the pandemic hit, I lost my job, unemployment was an act of Congress to get. The collection agency still wanted their money. Needless to say my credit is RUINED thanks to Hamilton. I wish I could sue, I’m sure I’m not the only person with a similar story. Hard working people trying to do the right thing and pay down a bill, yet greedy and unempathic Hamilton still sends you to collections. Things like this should be illegal.
It was to long of a wait. The beds were nasty and the vending machins take money without giving the change back
The staff are unprofessional and rude. Maybe a few good ones in there but it’s clear the Standards aren’t high for who they hire. Not to mention, they care more about money than actually making you better. Like others have said, drive a little further to Chattanooga and don’t waste your time and money
Zero star. Do not recommend
If I could give zero stars, I would! I don’t know how this place has not been shut down yet!
Please PLEASE do NOT go to this hospital! I promise you that it will be a mistake.
Our doctor sent us over because my son Was very dehydrated and pain from his appendix,The lady at front desk was very rude,Very long wait, other people was coming and got taken in before us,Doctor not friendly at all,Get stuck sitting there listening to them talk more about the personal business and drama, than doing their job I guess this is what our insurance companies get charge for is play time for the children that work there because that how they act ,, Dont not take your children there
Everyone was extremely nice and very professional
Hamilton Medical Center is the WORST hospital. Please save yourself the time and possibly your life by going to Memorial.
Money hungry personnel and doctors!!!!
Right now I'm having chest pain the ordered a ct scan and didn't tell my why I'm in a lot of pain and I'm about to throw up and don't know what I did to deserve this kind of treatment I'm a good father but this doctor only saw me for about 2 minutes and I have been up here for 3 hours and counting
Would give no stars if I could. Not only did I wait and hour and a half but I was completely ignored by the staff. My vitals were taken then that was it. I had to leave to go to a different hospital.
The radiology department and the file room clerk, Amanda were wonderful to me. My son had a scan at Hamilton Diagnostics and I needed a copy of his scan for his gallbladder surgery. They had it for me within minutes and they were unbelievably kind. Thank you.
This is Billing Issues. They keep on sending bill to my parents whom I never listed their address as my billing address and I even called billing department few weeks ago to make sure to send me one at the adress listed in my account. However, nothing has been done and they sent the bill to my parents anyway. I need this to change if you all want to be paid, it has to be sent to the right address. And if you are confused call me using the phone number listed in my account and not just to anybody. The only time I used my parents' address was to register them to get their Covid-19 vaccine in the state where they live and it is not Georgia for sure. I never lived in the state where they are. So please I am willing to pay just don't stress my parents with unnecessary mistakes that you are all making. Please review and review before you send. Just like any procedure you want your patients to be satisfied and happy right? Thank you.
I haven't even made it to the back of the Emergency yet, but the ladies in the front were so helpful with my daughter. Emma was amazing! She helped calm her and me down after she hurt her foot skating! It reall6 helps whenever the front staff is so helpful and attentive.
Absolutely terrible. I have been here since 4 am & it is now 6:30 am. My 4 month old son can hardly breathe & has a disgusting cough and the only person we have seen so far was the nurse who took his vitals. This is so damn ridiculous.
Horrible service, traumatized me, the bread was hard and moldy, the people who work here are fine but they keep forgetting things I ask of them.
Very high costs, which is fine, but you don’t know what you’re being charged until you get your bill. Call to try and get an explanation? Good luck. You’ll get the runaround. Don’t pay if you question the bill? Get a hit on your credit report. Sorry this is negative as there are good people who work there but don’t go unless you have deep pockets. This has happened 3 times to me. No more.
All the doctors I dealt with were very professional I would definitely see them again when it comes to insurance watch your back Hamilton medical continued to lie to me saying my insurance that I was in their network my insurance is Humana Medicare advantage it wasn’t until after I had received two invoices that were charging me 40% which is out of network charges when I called and questioned they insisted I was in network I needed to call my insurance I did they said Hamilton is not in network I called them back they still insisted they were in network I am looking at some extensive medical procedures and if I had not noticed this now I’d be paying twice as much for the procedures all along they knew this and continued to lie So I had all my information transferred to another hospital that I know is in network and I can trust don’t trust Hamilton Medical Center
They act like they don't care about the patients, they take forever to do their jobs, they sit around and talk and stay on their phones!! This hospital and ER is a joke!!
Terrible Data intry personal in billing office! I have called three times about a procedure my husband had done in December. Name and member number for insurance entered wrong, therefore Aliant is sending back not found or canceled policy to HMC billing! Aliant has not received the first bill on the procedure that was preformed. The surgeon filed correctly and received his portion . Anesthesia also has billed wrong Aliant has not received a claim/ bill for this procedure. Why was this not precertted before procedure?Hamilton Medical your getting sloppy!!
(Translated by Google) Super bad experience bad service I do not recommend it go and look for another hospital or it is better to die at home. If I could I would give it -000000 (Original) Super mala experiencia mal servicio no lo recomiendo vayan y busquen otro hospital o es mejor morir en casa. Si pudiera le daria -000000
I would give the rating a zero if that was an option. Mistreated my 76 year old mother more than I want to print. Ran all kinds unnecessary tests on her. She had an object lodged in her windpipe so they brought in a speech therapist (even though she could barely breathe). I asked the doctor what they were going to do about the object in her windpipe and she replied, well, we hope it goes away. During the night they put medicine in her IV that she is allergic to. She started screaming in pain so they did a cat scan on her brain to find out why she was screaming in pain. An unknown male gave her two injections in her wrist but the nurse could not tell me what it was. While we were there, NOT A SINGLE NURSE CHECKED ON HER. I repeatedly pressed the call button and went out into the hall looking for help. A different nurse told me to press the call button. I told her I had been pressing it for some time. She said, oh well, and walked off. The next morning we decided to get my mother out of there since she called my dad during the night begging him to come get her. She said they were hurting her. When we got there she had pooped all over herself and no one even noiced. There were four empty vials laying in a chair. I asked the nurse what that was and she replied, I don't know I just got here. The bottom line is they are rude, they do unnecessary tests and they charge way too much. Go to Chattanooga.
I have been here for 3 hours to get a covid test for work. I had the test the first hour I was here, Said I had chest pain so ive been placed in a room and haven't seen a soul since. Ive been hitting the call button just to see what's going on. 3 hours and 30 mins later she comes in to tell me she can't find my test. Now ive been told ive been sitting here waiting on my results the whole time
Shockingly poor service every time I have to go there. Will never return. I will go to Advent Health in calhoun.
I was rerouted to this hospital from a diagnostic center for a routine non-emergency test that had been scheduled for weeks and that I thought would be billed at about $5,000. When I got the bill it was double what I expected. No one has answered my questions regarding why I was sent to this place or why the bill was so exorbitant. I have called and written letters. I suspect I was the victim of a bait and switch since I was not told ahead of time that the diagnostic center would redirect me to this place. I've heard of hospitals overcharging patients lately, but I never thought I would be a victim. Stay away from these swindlers or get your charges in writing before you consent to anything.
I wouldnt take my dog to this hospital. I went there in June to the ER with massive chest pains. Was left sitting in the lobby for a couple hours waiting to be seen. The ER dr admitted me after a quick examination. I laid there for 3 days in a hospital room and was having chest pains the entire time. I was never offered any nitro to ease the pains. Was under the impression I was waiting til Monday to have a heart cath done. On Sunday "dr" amed the cardiologist comes in and tells me that I'm fine and I'll be going home the next morning. I checked myself out of this joke of a hospital within the hour. A "dr" patel the floor doctor calls my room and scolds me for wanting to leave and further rolls on that I am fine and in the same breath brings it to my attention of how costly a heart cath procedure is. I literally had to hold on to the walls as I walked out of the hospital to my car. I have no insurance and therefore am not worth the time of this hospital to save my life. Now its September and I'm far worse off with my heart condition than I was 3 months ago. If you value your life DO NOT go to Hamilton medical. I've got a 45 thousand dollar bill that I'll never be able to pay so that these idiots can tell me I'm fine and make me to feel like some kind of trash for seeking help.
Very unprofessional, nurse had the nerve to yell at my husband. All we needed was a nurse to help while waiting for the arrival of my child. I'm surprised they're still open. Since that day, we rather drive to Gordon Chattanooga hospital.
For the price of a new house and car you don't even get a diagnosis. If you need a ct scan or a blood test and got 6 hours go to the emergency room but don't expect anything else except a bill. The ambulance crew were terrific and very much appreciated, the stars all belong to them.
My husband was sent to the Hamilton Medical Center Emergency room because of the lockdown. He was diagnosed with a urinary track infection. The problem is, I was told to drop him at the door and go home. I was given a number that I was suppose to call and the medical staff would keep me updated. My husband was in no state of mind to be making decisions. The attending physician even told him so but no one would talk to me to help make the important medical decisions. No one would call me. They performed procedures based on his okay but he was told he was not capable to make the decision to check out. Therapy was continually trying to force him into home health care services when his problems walking was because of the infection and medications he was being given. When he was home we tried to attain a copy of the attending physician’s report but was told we could not enter the hospital to get it. We received a bill of $780 today with no explanation of the charges. I have had many relatives in hospitals and never have I seen a hospital continue to tell a patient, that they say, is in no frame of mind to make decisions and still get them to do just that. My husband requested that they talk to me they would not. When he began to think more clearly on the 3rd day and told the attending physician he was going home, the physician said well your insurance will pay for a few more days and you can have your wife visit after the weekend. We followed up with a specialist and was told that the infection could have been treated in the emergency room and then he could have been sent home with antibiotics.
Slowest hospital ever! Show no attention to the patients when in the er! But out in the hall carrying on! Been here for almost 3 hours not even saw the dr and only saw the nurse 1 time
I have been waiting in lobby since 5:15 am and still waiting for them to take my husband back for surgery. Its 7:00 am now. CRAZY!
I was diagnosed with COVID-19 and I would like to thank All of medical team of Hamilton Medical Center who took care of me for 11 days who made sure I got to come home to my family You all worked very hard as a team and again Thank you Hamilton Med Center for saving my life and Thanks to all the nurse and people who work in MICU as well who was their for me again Thanks everyone Gerardo Garcia
I had to give up on HMC, I felt I had to explain to my doctor why I seldom take the referrals in the HMC Groups and explained the problems I have had with the Hospital. He suggested I write a letter, I assumed HMC checks reviews so I went this way. I was born in this local hospital and both my parents died there. I have Church friends that work there and have no axe to grind. I love some of the staff there I have met and know that there are many competent people there and some of the doctors are friends of mine. However, every interaction with the hospital always nets al lot of frustrations. I was turned over to credit collections once and it was because my paperwork was not updated system wide. No apologies and no explanations, no phone call (they had my number). Recently I waited three months to just get a call back to schedule a colonoscopy (the call never came so I went in person and refused to leave without an appointment) They had my messages and emails and referral. Reason given, too busy. Dr. Marcadis agreed it was a problem but could not explain beyond that. Then there was the time we had a huge problem scheduling a near emergency stress test for my wife (too many details to go into but clearly all on HMC). Then there was several other incidents. I am waiting right now for a call tonight from an HMC group that is two days late, tomorrow my inquirerys will begin with the prefix 423 unfortunately. I went to Memorial Hospital for surgery, really didn't want to. I have moved most of my health care to Memorial and am satisfied. I also checked the cost of a colonoscopy using the same exact insurance for the same treatment I had just had at HMC. My portion of the payment was significantly lower at Memorial. They said the only explanation was the way it was coded that could be the difference, charges based on insurance would likely be the same or at least similar. Also at Memorial, I get a written estimate on exactly what copay and charges will be after review with insurance, they said it is unusual to miss it by a dollar. My procedures and surgery charges have been spot on. I find this to be very polished, professional, and accurate. I never had a pre-treatment estimate at HMC. Again, I am not angry, actually to the contrary - I want a decent local experience so I am not forced to go out of town. I think we have the facility and staff, the place just needs a strong dose of Management, in my opinion. In case someone is asking "how can we improve", here it is.
My mother came in because her legs gave out and went num and her heart was hurting and they took us back to the ER and the Dr that seen us was very rude and we found out she has disintegrated disk in her lower back and they didn't find nothing else so they called Westcott for no reason and I had to bring her back home with no help
The worst hospital I ever went in my life. Never ever again.
For a small town hospital we experienced nothing but caring attentive nurses, techs and doctors taking care of our mother. We were also able to order guest meals to be able to eat with her. The food was delicious, low price and ample.Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
I received emergency room care last year for burns to my chest. I was charged for "surgery", and a separate operating room, even though I never left the room where I was admitted. What skin was hanging off my chest, I pulled off myself. The doctor only observed the burn, spoke with me a few minutes, then left. A nurse helped put ointment and bandages on my chest, and I was sent home with some prescriptions. However, they did see me rather quickly, and I did not have to stay long. Although, I do not understand how I could be charged for a service(s) that I did not receive.
The Drs was polite and the nurses took good care of me while I was in the hospital
I would rate lower if possible! This hospital is a joke! They are the most unprofessional people I’ve ever dealt with! Bethany in Human Resources needs more training on how to do her job as well as how to speak and hold a conversation with someone! Don’t work her don’t go here! Stay away from this hospital!!!!!????????
WORST HOSPITAL IN AMERICA!! I could write a book on all the horrendous treatment I have received here. This is my local hospital, but I do everything in my power to avoid this unnerving place! If I needed treatment for 2 broken legs, and my car was inoperable, I would CRAWL to Gordon County’s Hospital, before I spent a second of my time here!! Doesn’t even deserve 1 star! Go somewhere else people, go ANYWHERE else!
HORRIBLE! My husband dislocated his shoulder and they placed it back after 5 or 6 hours! No one communicated with us what was going on & they were understaffed (rooms weren’t even full!) there was only one person in the waiting room when we got there. Horrible.
Arrived at er 7:04 PM with my mother having chest pains. Several tests administered doctor found problem. Going to admit my Mother for fluids and monitoring. It is now 4:57 am and we are still in the er. Ridiculous.
I had a baby here yesterday. The nurse Martha was terrible she was rude.. we didn’t get a golden hour. It was by far the worst experience. Never again. The only nurse that made it worth the experience was Laura. If you hate your job you shouldn’t do it.
It was very slow took use out to the lobby 2 times and my mom wasn't feeling well and got other things done but she has netals in her arm and it was not even packed and I think they could have done better.
Had an emergency on Saturday 12/7/2019 and went to the ER! The service and attention was outstanding. I would like to thank Doctors Jensen and Sikes as well as the whole staff for helping me! Great to have a home town hospital!
Excellent care! If I could rate this a ten I would. My friend was admitted due to his diabetes and liver disease day after thanksgiving. Visiting from Florida. Everyone from the lady that signed us in to the super nice guy that rolled us out. The best hospital I’ve ever been to. Test were done and back with results within minutes. The nurses were on top of everything. The RN Allen in the emergency room was very professional and informative I saw him do things that normally a health aid would do. I was impressed with his work. Other hospitals could get a lesson from this one. ❤️❤️
Happy Thanksgiving to you all
Very good service. It felt like they really care about their clients, rather than just seeing them as a paycheck.
Curious staff very helpful with my questions, very clean
If you like sitting in the emergency room and being ignored this place is for you! The nurses are rude and the nurse practitioners are even worse, but if you have a death wish this place is for you!
