I recently started going to Bowen Legacy after trying to find a holistic dentist that focused on overall health. I've been so happy with the experience so far as the staff is so helpful, positive, and transparent. I feel like I have time to ask questions and get a true understanding for what's going on and what the next steps are.

The staff and Dr Gehlert were fantastic with our daughter and helped her feel comfortable being there for her first visit. Everyone was very professional and answered our questions. Great experience!

So glad I stumbled upon Bowen Legacy when researching functional dentists in the Columbus area. Dr. Bowen was able to rebuild teeth that had been affected by years of night grinding and recommended an ENT to discuss possible solutions to correct my deviated septum. My toddlers see Dr. Gehlert, and I wouldn't go elsewhere, not only is she patient with them, but she is one of only a few pediatric dentists that I have found in Columbus that focuses on airway health and myofunctional therapy. We’ve seen a few hygienists in the practice and they’re all wonderful. The staff is excellent and beyond helpful. I highly recommend this family owned practice for your family!

I have been seeing Dr. Bowen for about 6 years now and I absolutely love him and his staff. They treat me like family and have went above and beyond. The receptionist Kara is always so kind and personal. During my last visit Kailei and Kristen went above and beyond to educate me on how to improve my oral health. I have been going there since the 1970's with Doctor Bob and have continued with the next 2 generations of dentists in this family (Doctor Richard and Dr. Taryn). I would not have it any other way and Janet has been cleaning my teeth for long enough to get her children to have grown up. Love them all. All of the staff have been great over the years. They will not shy away from given you a less expensive option of treatment if there is one.

After 3 different round of braces and jaw surgery years ago, I did not want to go down the same route again to ease my jaw pain. I researched other options to get to the root cause of the problems. I found Bowen Legacy offered the care I was looking for. I am currently working with Kristen who is helping me with therapy for my jaw. I appreciate their efforts to help me avoid surgery again if possible. Each time I’ve been in the office, I have shared other concerns with my teeth. Dr. Bowen always takes the time to listen, make suggestions and help me with my concerns. I am very appreciate of the care I’ve received at Bowen Legacy Dental. Had a great dental check up today at Bowen Legacy Dental. Kailey, the hygienist, was professional and very knowledgeable. She was gentle and my cleaning did not hurt at all. I could tell she loves her scope of work by the passion and effort she put into my cleaning. The front staff was super nice and greeted me with a big warm welcome and smile. Dr. Gehlert was also professional and kind and showed true compassion towards an issue we were having with my husbands checkup. Dr Gehlert took the time to listen to my dental concerns and offered advice on ways to alleviate some mouth issues I was having. She has a great staff working for her and I could tell she was very proud of her staff.

My first experience at Bowen Legacy Dental, and all I can say is “WOW!” From the receptionist on up, everyone was super nice and extremely friendly. Dr Gehlert was awesome, professional and explained everything in a way that made it feel like she has been my dentist for years! My dental hygienist, Kailey, was kind, considerate, thorough, and gentle. She took the time to explain everything she was doing and constantly asked if I was doing okay. Very professional. Would recommend this practice to anyone looking for a great dental office full of caring professionals!

We have been coming here for several years now and absolutely love coming here! The facility is immaculate, the staff is friendly, gentle, genuine, and overall amazing to work with. I truly cannot say enough about how wonderful they are! My 3 year old is excited to go to the dentist! That says it all!

We could not ask for a better experience when going to the dentist. Dr Gehlert has always done a phenomenal job with our young children, and we’re grateful the entire family can go to the same dentists. The staff is professional and kind. We’ve seen every hygienist in the practice and they’re all excellent. Getting my teeth cleaned is so wonderful at Bowen Legacy Dental care. Rather than scraping, it felt like a spa visit for my teeth with the water spray. It was the most gentle cleaning ever!

I have been to a number of different dentists and none have spent the time with me explaining and showing me photos of my condition like Dr. Gehlert has. I honestly cannot say enough great things about this dental practice. I was drawn to this office during one of the most frustrating times in terms of my son's dental health. After finding out my son needed extensive treatment to save his teeth, I decided to leave our previous dentist and trust in Dr Gehlert and her team. I am SO HAPPY I did. Her plan for treatment was so gentle and much less invasive than our previous dentist's plan for treatment and her team was so welcoming and down to earth. I walked into her office feeling lost and disheartened about my son's dental health and walked out, 5 appointments later, feeling accomplished, motivated and confident in how I was caring for my kid's teeth. My son absolutely adores her and Gabby, her assistant and everyone else in the office. What could have turned into a lifelong fear of the dentist for my young son turned into excitement for caring for his teeth. I would recommend this office to anyone! I cannot thank them enough!

I’ve been mostly going to Dr. Bowen since ‘93 and have always had a great experience. They are careful to make sure you have as pain free an experience as possible. There was a period of time I wasn’t in the central Ohio area and I didn’t realize how spoiled I was with Bowen Legacy until I went to a different dentist. It was one of the most unpleasant experiences and that was just for a basic cleaning. Believe me when I say this, Bowen Legacy Dental is the best in central Ohio, if not one of the best nationwide. The whole staff cares about each individual they see. I say individual and not patient because I believe they get to know every person on more than just a perfunctory level.

I've been going to Dr. Bowen since 1988. No dentist has ever made me feel more comfortable, more confident, more trusting. I trust him, and now his daughter who has joined the practice as of a few years ago now (time flies) to continue the 3-generation dental practice. They have all the latest technology and expertise for any dental procedure. They are honest about needed services, costs, timing, and implications. Janet is my dental hygienist and I've been seeing Janet for over 20 years. I've watched her have her children who are now grown, and she ALWAYS greets me with a smile and I love my time chatting with her each time I get my cleaning. I like going to the dentist so much that I go every 4 months instead of every 6 months!! You can trust these people to always do the right thing. Jackie is also one of my favorites!!

I have gone to three generations of Bowens, starting with an office across from OSU campus in the late 1980's. My current dentist is Dr Richard Bowen, but I have seen Taryn a time or two. All these dentists have been wonderful. Everyone in the practice is friendly and professional. The dentists keep current on the latest procedures and practices. The procedures are as painless as possible. As a technology freak, I am always curious about new equipment they get, like being able to image and map your mouth and teeth. I ask lots of questions, and Dr Bowen is happy to discuss whatever I am curious about. The doctors and hygienists are also proactive with mouth and dental health. The doctors do a quick mouth health check to make sure there are no non dental issues apparent. If there is something suspicious, they will refer you to a specialist. As for dental issues, they will discuss those with you, and treatment options. They will work with your insurance company so you can get the maximum benifits. To sum it up, I wouldn't go anywhere else for dental care.

My family has been going to Dr. Bowen for years. I actually went to his father as a college student back in the 1970's. The care has been outstanding, and everyone is so friendly and helpful. I feel that everything is up-to- date and professional, and time is always taken to explain and to answer questions. You can't go wrong here. I actually like going to the dentist!

I was hesitant to see another dentist after experiencing dental trauma but the staff at Bowen Legacy Dental were able to ease my mind. They worked through my hesitation with me by asking specific questions prior to my visit. Dr. Bowen himself reached out to me and the receptionist was very helpful prior to my appointment. The office was easy to find. There is a beautiful salt water aquarium in the lobby. I did not have to wait to be seen. Immediately I was impressed by the education of the receptionist and dental assistant. They quickly diagnosed my dental issue that has caused me to turn away from other dentists. They asked me what I was hoping to accomplish during my first visit. This a family practice that is very warm, welcoming and compassionate. They incorporate nice touches into their practice. I received chap stic and a jar of honey that Dr. Bowen harvested himself (delicious). It truly is a legacy. My only regret is not finding them sooner. Finally, I am excited about going to the dentist.

Wow! Bowen Legacy Dental exceeded my expectations. Everyone is super friendly and amazing at that they do. I really liked being able to fill out paperwork at home, online, before my appointment. Kara at the front desk took me back right away to chat new patient details and it was super quick. I really love hygienist Kayla. She rocks and is super knowledgeable. Dr. Bowen is sweet and gentle. 10/10!

Having moved to Columbus a couple of years ago, it took me a little while to decide on a dentist. I am so glad I decided on Bowen Legacy Dental. Its been a great experience starting with the phone call to schedule my first exam. All of the staff are kind, courteous, and well educated. They are all focused on what they can do for the patient, promoting the best oral health while focusing on prevention first. Due to my odd schedule I have actually seen both hygienists and both dentists. Same high quality professional care no matter who was working with me. They make sure I understand exactly what is going on and all options available to me. I am grateful for their direct and honest approach. I would highly recommend this dental practice!

I just had the best experience I've ever had in a dental office. This was my first appointment at Bowen Legacy Dental and the staff was incredibly kind and accommodating at all levels. Kayla was my dental hygienist today and she was awesome, and Dr. Bowen seems like a nice dentist who genuinely cares about his patients. The ladies in reception and billing were equally as helpful. They even gave me a little jar of Dr. Bowen's honey, since apparently he keeps his own bees. It's the little things in life...I never thought I'd write a review for a dentist's office on Google, but they sent a follow up email with a link to provide feedback and here I am. I really just had an awesome experience.

I went to this office on the recommendation of the many reviews online. I had been to my previous dentist 9 months prior, and they had mentioned that there were a few spots to watch. Upon my examination by Dr. Bowen and his staff, they prescribed an incredibly aggressive treatment plan with multiple crowns and onlays. As this would have been an extremely costly and invasive plan, I sought a second opinion from my family dentist in my hometown. He said that the treatment plan that they had recommended was WAY too aggressive after examining my teeth himself. I therefore sought out a new dentist in the Columbus area. My new dentist confirmed this opinion, and recommended a MUCH more conservative treatment plan. Both other dentists I went to after visiting Legacy said that my teeth were in relatively good shape. While a fair number of cavities needed to be filled, no crowns or onlays were recommended at all. While the staff and Dr. Bowen at Legacy Dental were kind and attentive during my visit, I unfortunately cannot recommend them since they recommended a over-treatment in my case.

My experience, I will be very candid, I was referred here by a friend. I had not been to a dentist in a long while, mostly due to life happenings. I also had the trauma of dental shaming in the past handed to me with a plate full of paranoia. I was able to get a last minute appointment as I really needed to be seen. I was ready to start this process of taking care of my teeth.. needless to say I was amazingly surprised at the pleasant Demeanor of the staff. Paperwork was facilitated by email. I had a brief discussion with Kara, over my expectations of my visit, my complaints, issues etc. This team spent time to learn my issues, my needs And what were my expectations for my visit. The bedside manner of the team was so pleasant, comforting and they were able to deliver all the news in a positive fashion and creat a plan for me at my schedule based on what I could do. Dr. Bowen was so pleasant and kind. Overall this was a stellar appointment and I know now I have found my dentist. They know how to make your most unpleasant experience so pleasant.

My five year old had his first visit with Dr. Bowen today, and he loved every bit of it. He has seen other dentists previously, but this was by far his best experience. His hygienist, Janet, was very thorough and patient yet very quick and kept his attention throughout the appointment. My son loved he had got to choose his toothpaste flavor, and really enjoyed selecting a prize from the treasure box at the end of the appointment.

Top shelf! The best there is. They know you as a person as well as a patient. They are current on all new procedures and techniques and the kind care they provide is second to none.

My family has been going to Dr. Bowen for pretty much my entire life, and to his father before that!! They are a very professional practice that stays current on all of the latest technology and practices. They let you know upfront any problems that you are having/starting to have, so that you can try and correct them before the next appointment. They are very friendly and take the time to make sure that you are comfortable and understand what is going on with your teeth. We also Love the fish tank!!

I'm not a fan of dentists in general. but I found the people in this practice to be superior. I received kindness and compassion from everyone. The office was spotless and pleasant -- no loud TV or piped-in music. Dr. Gelhert was very thorough and knowledgeable. Everyone was excellent at her job, introduced herself, and put me at ease. I have no complaints. I face further work, but I am not afraid.

I'm a dental weenie, and that is not an overstatement. But after my first appointment yesterday, I know I am going to be well taken care of. From the moment I was greeted, throughout my intake and once I got in the chair, everyone was a nice as can be. And Dr. Bowen is clearly competent, identifying the source of an ongoing problem within minutes. I think I've found a new dental home.

I was referred to Bowen Legacy Dental by a friend who told me they were the best dentist office they had ever been in! She was spot on! Great Dentist. Clean, comfortable office. I didn't have to wait at all! The staff was so friendly and knowledgeable. Everyone took their time to answer every question I had and I never felt like I was being rushed out the door! Dr Bowen is friendly and took plenty of time to do a through examination and explain to me my options. I would recommend this office to my friends and relatives!

Full disclosure, I am Rick's son, however I'm writing this of my own volition never having been asked to write a review. They don't even know I'm writing it at this moment. I've lived out of state for years now and during the course of my work I've been privy to the inner workings of a few dozen dentists' offices. I can speak not only to my experience in Rick's office but also how it compares to a sizable number of other offices out of state. Rick holds his staff to a very high standard. Each of his staff has a deep knowledge of their trade, I have never seen a staff member have a bad attitude, they are friendly, helpful, careful and efficient. They are all competent and each is well-suited to the role they fill. The office itself is kept spotless. It feels comfortable, which is hard to pull off considering that it's the "dreaded dentist's office." Rick himself constantly engages in continued learning. He spends weeks each year attending seminars, lectures, studying new literature, etc. to stay on the cutting edge of dentistry, from the use of advanced imaging technologies to expanding his practice to help treat sleep apnea and other disorders related to the mouth, teeth, and airway. I haven't met one dentist that puts in half the effort that Rick does. Being as objective as I can be, I haven't seen an office that matched Rick's. I'm sure you will notice the difference immediately if you decide to see what his practice is all about.

Woke up in the morning with a bad toothache. They got me in same day as a new patient. All of the staff was very professional and courteous. Dr. Bowen and his staff made sure I was comfortable throughout my visit. Excellent staff and experience. I didn't even have a wait time. Once the paperwork was done I was taken care of right away. I would highly recommend.

Went for my first time this week and the staff was very friendly and professional- from the front desk to the chair! I appreciated the technology and how they show you your teeth on the big screen, and they talk you through every little step of the way while working on your teeth. Have been going to Dr. Bowen's practice for over 20-years. Never liked going to my dentist as a young adult, but this practice is just awesome. I'm an engineer and I like that Dr. Bowen always has the best technology for his procedures. Extremely friendly staff - Janet has been my hygienist the entire time and won't ever go anywhere else for my dental work.

I can't tell you how much I love the people of this office! I'm not a big fan of the dentist. However, Dr. Bowen, Janet, and all the staff put you at ease immediately. Today my son and I had routine visits set up. My youngest is now three so I took her along to show her how a cleaning goes. Janet talked to her the whole time, showed her what she was doing to me and talked to my daughter about how her own teeth cleaning would be. My daughter was so comfortable with her, that when it came to her turn, she was up in the chair with her mouth open before Janet had her instruments out!
