I wouldn't advise eating anything from the bakery over the weekend whoever bakes over the weekend is horrible and it looks horrible mon thru Friday is the best time to get from the bakery more care is put into it
Great for a quick meal. Assortment of sandwiches, soups and salads. Workers are very nice, too.
Food is always good. Great option to have at OSU hospital for overnight and lengthy family stays with patients.
Delicious food but very pricey and zero gluten free options. Also for the longest time during the pandemic they didn’t offer any soup because they “weren’t set up for it” since they couldn’t have it out front.
Pretty good, rather expensive.
Best chocolate croissant at a chain eatery
Open also late night. Good salads, soups and sweets.
A weekly stop for me! Really enjoy this place.
Extremely slow service.
DOPE PLUS FUN
My favorite coffee, great bread... but the good always leaves a bit to be desired. Does not correlate with the price.
Hello for the past few weeks when i have arrived at Au Bon Pain the sandwich line has been closed and the lights have been turned off. When I asked the lady working she stated she is the only one working and can not make Sandwiches and cash people out at the same time. If this is true please close the store for the entire day. It is very frustrating when you walk far to go somewhere for lunch just to see half of a store open. I am a paying customer and it's very unprofessional to staff and PATIENTS.
Very good lemonade and sandwich!!!
Food was good, but it's very expensive.
This became our favorite place to eat while my son was in the hospital. They offer a wonderful variety of soups, salads, and sandwiches. But the real threat to your waistline is their incredible line of baked goods. We can vouch for the absolutely delicious cheese croissants, the chocolate croissants, the double chocolate cookies, the blueberry muffins, the chocolate brownies, and the lemon pound cake. They have a small area of tables. Very clean. Restful pictures are on the wall. It's a very quiet, peaceful place to eat or you can take your food elsewhere. We were extremely happy with all our experiences there.
Good, but overpriced
Food was good but was more expensive than what I was expecting.
Great place for little treats and a drink
Great sandwiches and a quiet and calm environment
It's okay if you are at the hospital Werner center kind of expensive though.
Goid food and coffee
Great food for a place that is in hospital
Slow service. Rude staff. For some reason won’t make any hot food after 10p or so some days though will be staffed well. Food is over priced and under seasoned. It’s just a lesser Panera by way of food and quality. It’s just not there
Wonderful, food was great & they were Extra careful dew to an allergy I informed about. Always helpful, you have to go through the James cancer center Doors to get to them (the front desk can help you with that) but worth it.
Cost way too high...
Cheaper coffee. Tasty drinks. Always met with friendly face. Super over priced...
Love the turkey kale soup
They never have vegan soup as they advertise.
Krystal was friendly quick and a great representative for such great service ill be back again and again
This place is, unfortunately, frequently beset by staffing difficulties that can sometimes mean that certain services aren't always available or wait times for prepared foods can be a little long. That said, the staff is consistently wonderful: friendly, helpful, and efficient. Their cold case is well stocked. They consistently produce tasty bakery items, salads, and sandwiches. This ABP and its staff have gotten me through a lot of long shifts and I really appreciate that.
So mad that the only location is in the OSU hospital Love the turkey and avocado sandwich and the the soups are delicious
Au bon pain has some pretty great food, and they're open late night! They're a little more expensive then Panera (who I think owns them), but I would say the overall quality justifies it. I haven't had a pastry here that I didn't like and I love their sandwiches/salads. Customer service tends to be lacking as about 80% of the employees seem like they hate their lives.
Excellent soups and sandwiches but of you're in a rush don't go between noon and 1pm.
Best staff anywhere. Always going over and above for customers.
Expensive, but quality over quantity right ?
Very nice place to have lunch. I usually take a medium soup and bread. They have a decent variety of soups. One can also make their own salads, buy sandwiches. Their coffee is good too.
I have been treated rudely (mainly by the deli staff) on more than one occasion, and the service is painfully slow.
Great!!!! The food is amazing! A great staff!
Great place!!!
Sandwiches and soups are excellent. Things can get busy at this Hospital location, which can slow down you getting your order and being checked out.
This place has the best food!
Fresh ingredients. They will send you nice discounts if you sign up to be on their email list.
Their food is excellent, and their hours are very convenient to those staying or working overnight in the OSU Hospital.
My wife was flown into The James on Nov. 2nd. Today is the 10th. We are still here. That means I am FORCED to use the services provided on site...or leave. Looks like I will be leaving from now on. I have been around the food service industry for years. I have NEVER experienced the LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE in this business than i have at this site. And I figured out why. Laziness, lack of attention to detail, and just pure inexperienced management. You see... when i see a sign that says open 6:00 am.... the staff better be ready by 5:55, all hands on deck. When I look around and see 5 people waiting in line to check out...and they have been standing there at least 5 min...i see that as a lack of attention to detail and...CUSTOMER SERVICE. When I see the staff of The James....waiting in line for 15 min just to get an order filled and then have half of the order wrong....i see that as I experienced management..why? Because the staff was NOT trained correctly. It's a dam shame that The James would contract with this organization to serve the "real customers" the family members of some pretty sick people. It's bad enough that we have to spend time away from our family member..only to be treated to a very inexcusable customer service experience. Maybe "management" should read the reviews...or...where you part of that group that grew up where "everyone" got a trophy! P.S. Thanks for making me leave the parking garage 2-3 times a day. P.S.S.... Panera Bread aquistion is NOT going to help this lost cause! Signed: A very unhappy "past" customer!
I love their soup selection and baked goods. Haven't tried a sandwich yet as I've been intimidated by the line. Good food but be prepared for a wait during lunch hours.
Three stars, only because the staff is always nice and does a great job, even when they’re swamped. The food is really good... However, DO NOT come here if you expect to spend less than 20 minutes here to get anything. Been waiting at the register for over 5 minutes and there’s not anyone even checking people out. There are only two people working here and the register person is behind the counter, but she has no other choice.
Extremely slow service. Ordered a breakfast sandwich and it took 20 minutes to prepare at noon. Not only was it on the wrong bread, but the eggs were cooked within an inch of their lives! For the price it's not worth it.
Given the level of excellence in all the hospital staff, I would expect the same in their contract services. The lack of courtesy and seeming annoyance to serve me by the staff here surprises me. Good food. Mediocre service.
The staff are always so friendly and helpful.
