Communication here is horrible! My husband went in for an implant to which they explained the process but not fully to our surprise. They went over cost and he paid for the process. He got the first “step” done and they said he had to wait to get the second “step” done so he did. The allotted time passed aaand no one called him to schedule an appointment. We then called them to schedule it and had to wait another month to even get in. He was told again that he would have to wait for the last “step”. Again they said they would call to schedule but again no call, we gave it some time due to COVID but no one called. We then called and scheduled an appointment had to wait another two to three weeks. He goes in for his appointment and the day of they tell him the doctor missed a step and he’d have to go back. He scheduled again and when he arrives they tell him it is going to be another $300 dollars! They didn’t even apologize or try and make this right it was just a sorry excuse of the last person wasn’t right. This just seemed to be a little obvious that they didn’t want to help a person of color and there was an excuse for every visit, like they were purposely trying to get rid of him. He asked for his file and with NO hesitation they gave it to him not even trying to make their wrongs right. We will not be returning and won’t be referring anyone to them. Horrible horrible experience and waist of time!

I have been calling for more than 2 weeks to discuss a problem with processing charges. I have had employees leave emails asking billing to reach out to me as well as leaving messages with other departments saying they would contact billing. It is absolutely absurd that it has taken this long. I will not be recommending this location at all. This is unacceptable.

Felt very well cared for during my visit. Excellent service, good communication. Very clean facility. Twe (not sure of spelling), the hygenist is especiallly terrific!

Came here for my first exam / checkup in over 10 years. They did an amazing job with my x-rays and offering suggestions for more advanced care based off what they had seen. They did a thorough cleaning and now I feel much better about my teeth and their health! Very affordable and they offer an in house discount program!

Good Morning Albuquerque. It’s quarantine time, but our teeth can’t afford to be quarantine from the toothbrush and good care. I was worried about going out, but I was very fortunate to find ABQ modern Dental Group. All the staff was friendly, professional, knowledgeable and helpful. They took care of my appointment in a jiffy. The office handle all the communication with my dental insurance. I was very impressed with this state of the art office. They are constantly sanitizing all areas. The dentist was amazing, look ma! No pain. He did an amazing job with my crown. The dental hygienist was amazing. I left with a brand new crown which was done in 2 hours. Thank you find ABQ modern Dental Group for taking such great care of me and my teeth. If you are in market to find a new place to care for your teeth this is the place. You will not be disappointed.

I used to have a lot of stress around the dentist and avoided going. I started going to ABQ Modern Dental Group a few months ago and am honestly so impressed by all of their staff. They are so kind and provide such helpful feedback on tooth care. They walk through all their recommendations and show their findings without judgment. I look forward to visiting again!

Dr. Gallegos and Maria were very kind, professional, and patient with me. I have had unpleasant experiences elsewhere and was very nervous. They explained everything to me and took their time. They made sure that I was completely satisfied with the work that was done. I highly recommend them!

I have been to many Dentist offices over the years and this one is by far the best! The front desk staff friendly and efficient, hygienist thorough and informative, and the Dentist top notch! The manager (a female) walked right past me at the doorway - I had a wheelchair - and she let the door close on me. Only inches away from me!! When I got inside and rested for at least ten minutes, she completely ignored me! This was going to be my first visit, but I left and will NEVER go back!!!

I have been going to Dr. Gallegos for years and have always been impressed. He is kind, gentle, and knowledgeable. We will be returning once he returns from his medical leave. Best dentist I have ever worked him. I highly recommend him! His staff are also very nice and professional.

The staff at ABQ Modern Dental Group are always friendly. They were quick to fit me into their schedule and when they needed to close early due to inclement weather, they pushed my appointment to earlier in the day so I wouldn't have to wait longer to receive treatment.

I was really impressed with patient care at ABQ Modern Dental. All the staff were very friendly, happy, personable, had jokes to lighten the mood and made me feel like an old friend from the moment I walked in the door. From the front office manager, to Maria the Lead Assistant and my dentist, Dr. Ethan E. I worked at large specialty dental practice years ago and that company made their patients come in for a NP exam, made them come back another time for a cleaning (sometimes having to wait months) and if you had any other work to be scheduled- fillings, root canals, extractions, etc. you had to schedule with a separate provider for everything. They never did anything the same day. At Modern Dental, I went in for a NP exam, had my cleaning done (by the dentist so I would not have to wait for the hygienist and Maria at the same time- so it took 1/2 the time that it normally does) and I even got a 1-surface filling done the same day! They went out of their way to accomodate me so I did not have to come back another time. I was out in 90 minutes, with everything- no skimping or rushing either. WOW! That was the first dentist that I ever had that didn't push treatments I did not need and did not make me feel bad for declining fluoride because of my beliefs. Dr. E explained the importance of future work in a friendly, non- pushy way and respected my reasons why I was waiting to do it. He was also so gentle with my novocaine injection, I didn't even feel it without first using the nasty tasting topical anesthetic. Impressive! First filling I ever had where I didn't get an awful headache afterwards, either. Dr. E even gave me some great recommendations on where to have my wedding :) I will be sending my family to them and would highly recommend Modern Dental, specifically Dr. E, to anyone. They definitely value and appreciate their patients, which was obvious because they never kept me waiting and kept me highly informed of everything. Side note: I was also impressed with extra COVID precautions, cleanliness and best practices that were implemented. While there were other patients there, they were kept far from me to limit my contact with others, which I appreciated.

I followed my hygenist, Arianna Ledesma-Garcia to this dental office. She is efficient and communicates clearly what is going on or any concerns with professionalism. She listens to my concerns and is always aware of my comfort. The dental office is very clean and follows COVID Safe Guidelines. I highly recommend this dental office for your dental care.

My family and I have been going to ABQ Modern Dental Group for a couple of years now. We chose not to have dental insurance which is a lot of the reason why we like this place so much. They have a family dentist plan charged yearly which enables our family of four to see the dentist every visit without an extra charge. Plus they take x-rays for free which I was being charged a lot for at my other dentist. The whole staff is very friendly and caring. Dr. Edminsten really goes above and beyond to make sure we understand how important it is to floss and take good care of our teeth. I had fillings done today as well as a cleaning and he did such a good job. I'm happy to recommend them to anyone as they are affordable and truly caring!

I was in need of one crown and two front veneers. Dr. Edminsten was able to remove all three and fit me for temps in a matter of hours. The injections were some of the best I’ve had; and, he worked seamlessly with the dental assistant to make an uncomfortable procedure go very smoothly. Although he can make crowns and veneers in house, mine were sent out and back within a week. My new front teeth are beautiful and the crown feels amazing. I wish I would have done this sooner than later. Highly recommend Dr. Edminsten and his staff.

They actually pay attention. They caught something my old dentist hadn't. Something that could've potentially gotten worse & affected my health. They're very clean & friendly. I've found my new dental team!

I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Ethan Edminsten and staff. Everyone was welcoming, friendly and made me feel comfortable and well taken care of. I will definitely continue to return to this office for check ups, cleanings, and everything in between!

Pandemic Details July 2020: They all wore their masks and gloves following proper PPE guidelines in case you all are wondering. More importantly they are great dentists, hygienists, and office staff members. They have always answered promptly when called and they do a great job cleaning and protecting my teeth. Most importantly they do a great job. It's still important to go to your semi-annual appointments to keep teeth and gums free of plague and bacteria so I recommend going to a dentist if you've passed it up recently due to fear, but I highly recommend ABQ Modern Dental Group for their services. Ethan, Tamara, and Xiena all do a great job (as do their other team members) who really really care about what they do and do their best (which is pretty dang good).

I've never had a bad experience at a dentist's office. That changed when I went to this office on 6/22/20. I was reassured when I scheduled that procedures were in place to keep patients safe from Covid-19. During the 2 hours I was at the office for a routine cleaning, which apparently took longer due to an emergency procedure earlier in the day that postponed all later appointments like mine, I was told once I checked in and went to the back, I no longer needed to wear a mask. I kept my mask on while waiting to have X-rays done. The dental hygienist walked in the small room to my surprise standing close to me and talking to me without a mask on. She then turned to get her equipment out, including a mask for her to put on. Then after Dr. Edminsten cleaned my teeth, my chair was positioned upright at which point I noticed he was no longer wearing a mask and casually giving me feedback, in close proximity to me. I did not have a mask on at this point and was extremely nervous and disturbed that he did not seem concerned about removing his mask and talking to me. I asked politely, "Could you explain why you do not have a mask on?" He paused and seemed surprised by my question. His response was, "I can put one on if that makes you feel more comfortable." I felt extremely unprotected in this moment and it made me think if he removed his mask with me, with which other patients has he done so, while keeping in mind, the dental hygienist seemed to have a similar relaxed attitude about not having a mask on when interacting with patients. As a dental patient, going to the dentist during this pandemic is anxiety-provoking enough as you cannot wear a mask while your mouth is being worked on. I fully expect the staff at any dentist office to take this pandemic seriously and protect their patients and themselves. I debated about leaving this review and completed a survey a week ago sent by this office where I gave 1 stars only. I was surprised that no one from this office followed up to ask why I gave a poor rating. I was willing to see if they had followed-up with me, that they perhaps would be more diligent and change protocol based on my experience moving forward. However, because no follow-up has been made more than 2 weeks after my appointment by the staff and to protect current/future patients, I felt I needed to inform others about my experience as I am now fearful to go to the dentist.

As someone who is terrified of the dentist, I cannot say enough praise about ABQ Modern Dental Group! It had been quite a few years since I had even seen a dentist and I was SO worried and unsure about my dental health. The staff was able to see me, and Dr. Edminsten has been my dentist since! I needed one filling, and I tell you, it was the best filling I have ever experienced! Thank you all so much!

I have always been so nervous about going to the dentist and don't like when I go, but when I went here, I was barely nervous at all. I needed to get a wisdom tooth removed and my dentist, Ethan Edminsten, was the best. He talked me through everything and was sweet and calm and made the whole experience comforting. The dental staff was awesome as well, it was the BEST experience I have ever had at a dentist.

We have switched to a different dentist due their office practice of scheduling appointments without our knowledge and consent. They have repeatedly called to remind us of an appointment we have no record of. I have never experienced something like this from any medical practice.

I cannot stress enough how happy I was with my first visit to ABQ Modern Dental. As someone with a lot of anxiety surrounding visits to the dentist, I was extremely nervous when I first walked in, but within 5-10 minutes I felt comfortable and calm because of the friendly and kind treatment I received from every single person at the office. From the dentist to the hygienist, everyone was conscious of my concerns. I was happy that I was told at every step what the price options and insurance coverage would be, so that I did not encounter an unexpected bill at the end of the visit. By far the best experience I have ever had at a dentist's office!

Over charged for the procedure that was done, The dentist refuses to take any of my phone calls very unprofessional place I would suggest nobody go here one of the worst dentist places that I have ever been in my whole life ??

This is one of the best offices I have been to in town. I dont really have a lot of money but I do have decent insurance for dental. They were able to get a major issue done with out doing the minor things at a price point I could afford. They worked with me and I got what I could do done. They make their crowns in the office so it's not a hassle to get one the same day or next day like me after a root canal. Dr Gallegos and all the staff are very excellent at there customer service and go out of their way to help someone get the dental things done that are needed to be done

Calling during business hours and nobody answers the phone and there is no recording to leave a message.

They are the best dentists I have every known, professional, friendly, easy to work with and caring about you as a person and not just a walking wallet.

What a great experience! I had my first appointment with ABQ Modern Dental today and I'm super impressed. Cristy, the benefit coordinator, was extremely helpful in getting me checked in, and again later when she was explaining the what my insurance covered and what would be paid out of pocket. My x-ray tech, Jen, was very friendly and proficient. Dr. Leigh was very personable and kindly offered to translate the dental jargon into English after he finished my exam. He's very approachable and kind and was happy to answer the questions I had. The whole visit was a breeze - you complete some of your intake paperwork via email and online forms beforehand, and then you get your invoice emailed to you at the end of the visit. I got my invoice before I even unlocked my car!
