As always, the best and most friendliest dental office I’ve ever visited. Although I miss seeing Brenda’s happy face, it’s still worth driving more than 30 miles to get outstanding care! I highly recommend them!

Best health/hygiene decision I’ve made in the last 15 years, if not ever! Dr. O’Shea and his team are really something special. From the moment I scheduled my appointment with Mrs. Brenda, the whole team made everything so easy. Cassie, Megan and Emily were incredibly friendly, and yet, actually made me interested in my teeth… something I don’t think much about! I felt like I was attending an event rather than some appointment. Since when do dentist offices make you anticipate your next visit?! Dr. spoke WITH me, not AT me as we discussed my teeth, giving me great insight. Thanks Dr. O’Shea, no wonder your practice has been grabbing so much attention.

The office is beautiful and very clean. I had Megan as my hygienist and she couldn’t be any nicer! She was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I think it’s the best cleaning I’ve ever had. Loved her! Dr.O’Shea is kind and gentle, I really like him. He explained everything very well. My husband has been going here for years and I’m glad I switched:)

I have been a patient at Academy Dental for several years. I have my teeth cleaned regularly, which was done yesterday. Everyone is so professional and friendly. I highly recommend the practice.

As always my visits to academy dental is comforting and pain free. They treat you gentle and follow up to ensure you're doing okay. It's a great place to visit and a very friendly atmosphere.

My daughter and her family have been going to ADC and when it was time for my check up I Was happy to give them a try. My experience was nothing short of excellent! The entire process from pre-forms, signing in on the day of to the actual examine, the staff and Dr O Shea were friendly and professional.

I needed a crown replaced that came off. I was given a price and paid it before the work was done. Months later I received I bill $44.00. I mailed in a check with a letter asking what the charge was for? I didn't get a response. I received another bill for the same amount. I called concerning the bill. I was told it was for the office visit. My insurance wouldn't pay it. I told her I though I was paid up when I left. I don't like being charged after the fact. Will not be returning.

Everyone was super nice, the office was clean and inviting, and I left feeling like I had no worries for my dental issues. Definitely feel safe in that office. I would recommend trying it out!

Great friendly staff and very punctual. If you have an appointment at 10, you are in the chair by 9:58. They never over book and Dr O’Shea is very pleasant and genuinely cares about his patients. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

During our current COVID-19 conditions, I felt Academy Dental has taken all The precautions To heart and established a very efficient process. I was very comfortable and the staff are always courteous and helpful.

I can't say enough good things about Academy Dental. My family and I have been going there for several years and we have not had a bad experience. The front office staff is always friendly and helpful when scheduling our appointments. The dental hygienists are equally friendly and always do a thorough job. With Dr. O'Shea, I feel like I'm catching up with an old friend whenever I see him. He is very personable and knowledgeable. I believe the entire staff has our best interests at heart and are always going above and beyond to make each visit a positive experience. I never get the feeling they are pushing unnecessary procedures just to make more money, like I have at other dental offices. As a small business owner myself, I am trying to emulate what Dr. O'Shea is doing at Academy Dental. I can't believe I am saying this, but I actually look forward to going to the dentist now.

Dr. O'Shea is the absolute best. Wonderful to all patients. My 5 year old loves his visits! He has taken wonderful care of me as well. Makes visits quick and painless. My daughter was dealing with a severe toothache and all other offices were not taking patients unless it was an EMERGENCY, I called all around and found this office and explained my situation to the lady Brenda that answered (I believe that was her name)she placed me on hold and got my daughter in within an hour she was so nice and understanding, my daughter said she felt no discomfort during the entire procedure they were amazing. The entire team at Academy Dental delivers excellent service and care. From the office staff to Dr Oshea himself. I take my 3 year old there and they are so patient and kind with her. Jen the hygienist always explains to her what she's doing, and let's my daughter try it first so she isn't scared. Dr Oshea is knowledgeable and kind. They are always running on time. I use them as well and am confident in their advice. They care about their patients!

I received care only a few times at this office but the staff and Dr. O’Shea were amazing. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, because of my insurance, I had to find a new office at the start of the New Year. They went above and beyond to contact another local dentist to confirm whether or not that office would take my insurance and then sent records over for me to get me started. Since I am not from around here, it was very helpful to have another referral. I felt well taken care of and a valued client. Thank you Academy Dental and keep up the great work!

Love this dentist...unlike so many other medical care providers, at Academy Dental Care,y really get the feeling that they actually care about each patient's dental health. It was really impressive how high tech they were (instant x-rays and automatic text message reminders) and how they take the extra steps to ensure patient health (mouth cancer tests). I highly recommend.

Academy dental is the most comfortable dentist office. All of the staff is extremely helpful and makes you feel at home. Academy dental definitely eases all the dentist visit anxiety!

I have been a patient at Academy Dental Care for years and wouldn't go anywhere else. The staff to include Dr. O'Shea, Office Mgr., front desk personnel, hygienist, and all the remaining staff, are always courteous, professional, informative and caring. They always take you in on time and never rush you out. Before they begin the dental exam, they ask if there are any concerns or problems. The following exam is thorough and they discuss their evaluation with you. I highly recommend Academy Dental Care.

#1 Academy Dental is CLEAN! #2 Reception/appointment/billing Staff is professional, efficient, knowledgeable, and friendly #3 Hygienists are professional, thorough, knowledgeable, very concerned that they are not hurting you during the cleaning, and friendly. #4 Dr. O'Shea is professional, takes his time explaining what's going on in your mouth, extremely patient, ensures you are comfortable during the entire procedure, and is also very friendly. #5 Did I mention the entire office is clean, everyone is friendly, professional, are reasonably priced AND they take most dental insurance plans? I rate most dentists Ive gone to, a 3 or less but if I could I would give this Practice a 9.5 out of 10 because you know we ALL hate and/or fear going to the Dentist but Academy Dental works hard to change that for every patient. See you in 6 months!

Everyone in this office is awesome! From the front desk staff to the dental hygienists ... I usually avoid the dentist, but getting fillings isn’t bad at all when you see Dr. O’Shea!

Absolutely wonderful office! Today was my first cleaning with the amazing Maegan and my teeth feel and look amazing! Very gentle, super friendly, and such a sweet gal! Dr. O'Shea was very kind and very informative about my future treatment plan and put me at ease about the upcoming appointments. I know my smile will be exactly what I want it to be in just a few months and I am so excited! Brenda at the front is fabulous and super helpful with appointments and the financial aspect of treatment, making it super stress free. BUT - all of the staff I interacted with today were friendly and a true pleasure to be around. Surprised to say I cannot wait for my next visit :)

Best dentist I’ve been to ! Completely took away of dental fear. Very professional and they explain everything in a effective manner. The upfront staff is very pleasant and friendly. Absolutely zero complaints about anything. If you’re embarrassed of your teeth then this is the place to go. Zero judgment. Definitely my new favorite dentist :D

Finding Academy Dental Care has been a godsend. Moving to southern Maryland from Florida meant finding new doctors -- a stressful activity, especially with a handicapped adult child -- but choosing Academy and Dr. O'Shea relieved every concern about our dental care. I am the daughter/sister/aunt of dentists, so my standards were pretty high -- and they have been exceeded! We have been able to set up clear dental plans for what may be needed in the future, gotten financing advice, and every area is spotlessly clean. Expertise, courtesy and smiles from the front desk personnel and hygienists make up a "total package" as a caring team Dr. O'Shea leads with his own talented, respectful (and fun!) example. I agree with the other reviewer -- we now look forward to our dental visits.

If I could give Dr. O’Shea and his team more than 5 Stars, I would. They are very respectful, understanding, and very personable. I'm glad I was referred to his practice by my co-worker. I now welcome heading to the dentist rather than dreading it. Best experience at a dental office I've ever had!

Had my first visit completed. Met doctor and other staff. Had my teeth cleaned and planned for future treatment. Everyone is very pleasant and friendly. Brenda helped me with my paperwork and insurance info. Holly the hygienist is very sweet, knowledgeable and professional. Dr. O'Shea was professional and explained my treatment plan clearly. So far so good but I will make an update after my first scheduled treatment. UPDATE: My second appointment as well as the first one went amazing! Dr. O'Shea and his team were very professional and friendly! Brenda at the front desk worked around my schedule to find a perfect time for my appointment right after snow storm! The dental procedures are usually not fun at all but Dr. O'Shea and his assistant Emily made it so easy, fast and comfortable for me! They did a great job with maximum care. I love that Dr. O'Shea listenes to all my concerns and wishes regarding dental procedures. He gives answers and respect my decisions without being pushy ( for example I don't like to be numb if it isn't necessary and he is cool with that!). Also they went above and beyond when took care of all my planned procedures at the same time! I asked, they could and they did! Saved me so much time! I am so happy that I finally found wonderful dentist office!

I had a nasty gum problem and didn't have a regular appointment. However they fit me in with no problem. They are friendly, competent, I would highly recommend them. When I needed care outside regular office hours, there was no problem. Dave Kelsey

Dr. O'Shea and his staff are AMAZING. I have never been to a more caring office. The staff is wonderful, they make you feel valued. And Dr. O'Shea is hands down the best dentist I've ever seen. I am petrified of the dentist but Dr. O'Shea did a wonderful job with my fillings. He is very patient and explains everything. I would recommend this office to everyone.

I have been going to Academy for years, and have transitioned through two new dentist since first starting there. Each time was a well , we'll see how it goes, but I am still very pleased ! Brenda is so warm & welcoming, she makes you feel like you are coming to visit a friend. She also held my hand during a procedure ( back when I was afraid to go to the dentist.) Holly , my hygienist, the best , makes you feel comfortable and relaxed. I did say RELAXED , this coming from a lady who USED to have panic attacks when going to the dentist. Dr. O'Shea was great from day one, and I knew after meeting him that I would not be leaving. He is very professional and personable, and explains everything completely. This group of professionals are THE BEST !

PERFECTION. The lady was so gentle with my teeth cleaning. She also made my 4 year olds first trip to the dentist a good one. He had a great time and really enjoyed it!!

We just switched dentists because our insurance was no longer accepted at our prior dentist's office. The staff at Academy Dental made it very easy to transition over and helped us with getting all of our records transferred over smoothly. They were wonderful with my oldest who was very excited for her check up, but also for my son who was very nervous and needed a little extra TLC. We are so thankful for the excellent job they do in taking care of their patients. <3

I have been coming to Academy Dental Care for almost ten years. I previously saw Dr. Modic and haven't met the new dentist yet but I love the rest of the staff (shout out to Holly and Brenda!). Everyone is so welcoming and nice - they completely take away all of the typical fears most people associate with going to the dentist. The only downside - my insurance considers this place 'out of network' but I STILL come here because I love them so much! Update: I have been working with Dr. O'Shea and have been very pleased with the care I have received. He is efficient, honest and personable. AND my insurance is now accepted! :)

What a great experience I had today. Brenda greeted me at the front door and made me feel like family. Jennifer took great care in making sure I wasn’t so nervous. It’s the first time I have been to the dentist and wasn’t scared. I felt very comfortable. Dr. Shea was amazing explaining exactly what had to be done and taking my feelings and worries in to consideration while making sure I was still be taken care of. What a great bunch of people, what an amazing team.

The best dental practice I have ever been too! I woke up with a swollen face and gums in tremendous pain. I called the friendly staff and received a same day appointment within hours. I'm a high risk case due to my rare heart conditions and I am hard to numb. Dr. O'Shea was excellent. He investigate my heart diseases and the medicines I needed to avoid. He made me feel comfortable and at ease. The facility is beautiful and the entire staff was top notch. My family will all be seeing Dr. O'Shea. The Academy Dental Care is a blessing to the community.

I have to say that of all the Dentists I have seen over the years , Dr O'Shea by far has been my best experience. Both he and his staff are truly genuine, friendly and professional. In just a few minutes you can tell that they truly care about their patients and love what they do. A truly rare commodity these days. If I could put 6 stars I truly would. I had a simple filling put in and this dentist actually called me after hours the following day to make sure I had a good experience and that everything was ok. That extra care absolutely floored me and my wife. I can guarantee you that within a year you will be hard pressed to get an appointment as I expect his practice to flourish. My first visit to this office was for a massive tooth infection. I got an appointment the day I called. Dr O'Shea assessed my problem immediately and Dr Mihn performed the procedure to relieve the pain. I have had the same wonderful experience with my follow up visits. I am VERY happy and highly recommend this dental practice. They truly do care!

I came in initially because I was in pain. I showed up for my appointment very early that first time. The staff left their lunch to take care of me, (who does that these days)? Dr. Ninh called me that evening to check and see how I was doing. Dr. Ninh is a great dentist and is so caring. It really is a shame he is leaving. The staff are so sweet and caring. It is easy to feel like you have joined a family that cares about your needs and dental health. My initial visit was due to a family referral; however, that was not what made me want to stay. It was Dr. Ninh and the competent friendly staff. I have met the new dentist and he seems very nice.

I was new to this dental practice. When I called they seemed very concerned about my issue and what was going on. The staff got me in to see the doctor promptly.I didn't even have to wait to be seen on either of my visits!! I have never been to more friendly, upbeat practice before ever!! Everyone from the receptionist to the doctor was genuinely caring and concerned for my well being. They made me feel so comfortable and right at home. Even before I went into have my consultation the actual doctor called me to see if I had any questions before we met the next day. I had to have a surgical procedure done on my tooth and was very anxious and nervous about it. (That's an understatement.) The staff made sure I thoroughly understood what was gonna happen and made sure I was completely comfortable and relaxed throughout the procedure. I also took notice that the staff in the office truly worked together as team and did various things for each other to make things run more smoothly in the office, even if it was not part of their particular job. I will continue to come back to this office in the future and I cannot say enough great things about this practice! I was very impressed!! Dr.Ninh is the best! He even called the evening of my procedure on his personal time to make sure everything was going well. I thank you all for such a positive experience!
