I have tried all day to get through to them to cancel an appointment. Simply can’t get through. I go from next in line to fifth in line for some reason. They’ve hung up on me twice when I was “next in line”. I’m trying to cancel because I’ve been referred to the Oregon clinic closer to home but I can’t make that appointment until I cancel this one. Also in order to register for the patient portal which gives me another way to contact them, I need a pin. How do I get that pin? You got it- by calling them! Brilliant!

I like the doctors here. Only issue to schedule a appointment you can easily be on hold for over a hour. Yes inhave tried booking a appointment through patient online portal but I never get a response back. It is very frustrating and they should have a better system

Everything went smoothly. (Colonoscopy). They spend a lot of time in advance e-mailing and phoning to convince themselves that you are going to turn up at the appointed time. On arrival they handled everything reasonably efficiently.

About the worst service you could ask for. Was running slightly late, so I called in ahead of time asking if provider could still see me if I was slightly late. Was very rudely told that they couldn't tell me over the phone, that they couldn't ask for me, and that I'd have to come in to their location to find out. Drove the 20 minute drive to get there to be told they couldn't see me because i was past the 10 minute threshold (12 minutes). I even asked if I could just talk to the provider for the remainder of my scheduled time (there was still plenty of time left in my slot), but was still rudely turned away. This was for an appointment I had to schedule 3 months in advance. They could have just let me know, but instead they wasted all of our time and were nothing short of rude throughout every interaction. I have worked in a variety of clinics and been seen in numerous others. I've never seen such a blatant disregard for the patient in any of those settings. Know what you're getting yourself into before choosing this place.

Recently underwent a endoscopy performed by Dr. Rodriquez at St. Vincent. From the scheduling through the actual procedure everyone went above and beyond. Very compassionate, professional, and highly skilled staff. I felt relaxed and cared for. Everything was explained in detail and all questions answered fully. Years ago I experienced the awesomeness of this clinic with Dr. Williams with a colonoscopy. Their staff is second to none!

The person who brought me back was very nice and brought me a warm blanket, kept conversation light and I adored her. My doctor was also great as were all of the staff. The only issue is that I was kept waiting a long time once I was undressed in bed. I finally had to ask someone and she went and checked and returned to say, "I'm glad you checked, yes: they're running behind." I think I may have been forgotten and who knows how long I would have been kept waiting had I not asked??? The other issue is that the instructions I was given regarding my driver were incorrect. The instructions stated that the driver was to wait for me because my appointment was after 2:30PM. But when we arrived together, the driver was told she had to leave due to COVID restrictions. But COVID restrictions have been in place for a year. Why wasn't the paperwork updated? She ended up waiting in her car, which, because of the delay in starting my procedure, was a long time.

The staff was very courteous and helpful. I felt like I was important to them. Dr. Shannon Lewis explained what she was going to do and then in recovery explained the results. I was impressed that her nurse called today, on a Saturday, to answer some questions I had before I left.

I would strongly recommend anyone considering the Oregon Clinic to listen to Freakanomics episode 456 (How to Fix the Hot Mess that is the US Healthcare). The Oregon Clinic is incredibly guilty of predatory billing practices. Some months ago I visited two separate physicians (I'm not even sure I should name names) who pushed very hard for me to have a needless procedure. I did not trust either one of these doctors to begin with but I suppose fearmongering is something physicians tend to leverage in this country to push unneeded procedures. Time goes by and I begin to receive steady bills for silly amounts of money. $1600 dollars for the procedure, over $2000 dollars for maybe an hour of the operating physicians time, smaller $100+ dollar charges here and there for lab fees, equipment fees, over $400 for some other doctor to put a needle in my arm, etc. Please don't fall victim to these people. Shop around with other clinics if you can. I truly fear what would have happened if the operating physician screwed up. Right before I was put under the physicians basically had me sign a waiver that if he harmed me I wouldn't sue. On the plus side, my attending nurse was very kind and thoughtful. At the end of the day, the physicians found nothing. I asked about the symptoms I was having (the ones that brought me there in the first place) and was never provided any answers or advice. Finally, while it is no surprise at this point, I find the revolting practice of taking a $500 deposit prior to surgery incredibly inappropriate. I am fortunate in this life to where this is not a burden on me but I think of the individuals who can not afford this. What happens then? Do these people go untreated for the sake of your profits? Shame on you.

Very disappointed. After discussing issues I had with the doctor, she recommended I have both a endoscopy and colonoscopy. She suspected a GI bleed or crohns. After expensive tests we completed, she popped in to say everything was good, turned around to leave and I stopped her. Why do I have all these issues??? Probably something your eating was the only answer she provided. In the end, she just want to bilk my insurance for expensive tests. I still have gut pain after eating and several other issues - but they have a few thousand of my money as well as my insurances reimbursement. No help whatsoever and no intention to help. Go anywhere else if you want answers.

Really nothing to say that is positive. Will only take in state referrals. Also do not respect PPO plans no need for referral benefit. My own insurance company listed them as in network and thus not needing a referral or PCP. Will reconnect with UHC to remove them as a premium provider. Sadly the scheduling staff HANG UP on you when you ask questions about clinic policies. Seriously? What kind of business hires people without clinical and patient understanding who would rather hang up the phone than take the time to do the job they're there for. Talk about top notch patient care and staffing! Losing business seems okay for them. Must be doing well.

Dr. Michael Owens seems to be an good doctor. Although I feel he lacks in making sure things are resolved quickly. When I spoke with him in our first appointment he wanted me to schedule a colonoscopy. After the colonoscopy I didn’t hear back for like 3 weeks. I had to keep calling until finally someone was finally able to tell me nothing was found and a pillcam was needed. So a month later I did that and was told I’d hear back from my doctor in about 11 days. Well 3 weeks had gone by. I called and they told me dr. Owens was out of town and will get back to me when he got back. A few days later a nurse calls me to tell me nothing was found and then that was the end of it. No new plan to find what’s been making me miserable for over a year. It’s been over a month and I’ve heard nothing back nor do I plan to. From the first appointment to the pillcam that took 3 months. He was nice, but I didn’t feel he really cared about helping me resolve my problems. I would’ve liked a call from dr. Owens, not a nurse, about what my option were on working towards resolving what’s been making my life miserable.

I had a virtual doctor visit on Aug 10 because I was in quarantine for Covid-19 and could not come into the office. I had my procedure at the Oregon Clinic November 2019. The instructions for the procedure was well mapped out and explained to me.The check-in process for the procedure was smooth, the staff was very friendly. My pre-procedure nurse and staff was excellent. Staff sometimes have a hard time with my IV sticks, Cat the nurse got it on the first try. The entire staff was super nice and professional. My nurse anesthetist introduce herself(Cindy) and explained the procedure to me. Dr. Rodriguez was my gastroenterologist. She addressed me in the room with a big smile. Went over what to expect from the procedure with me. The medical assistant Charolette introduced herself as I was being positioned. I was off to sleep and in recovery in a very short time. Everything was excellent. The care I received was great. I would highly recommend The Oregon Clinic for your GI needs.

The doctors here are actually very knowledgeable and kind, but you will encounter the worst and the most incompetent medical admins. After a 2 months long, and $5000 worth of exams tests and diagnosis, the doctor exhausted all options and can't find what's wrong with me. so we proceed to test for SIBO. And this is where it get's funny. SIBO test is a simple breathing test kit, that you can get it done in 3 hours and if positive, gets fixed with antibiotics. That sounds simple right? Nope, it took another 7 weeks for this hospital, , and till this date, I still don't have the antibiotics. Part of the trouble is of course our failing medical insurance system. But the hospital is not making it any better. The SIBO test can only be sent out from their South location. 10 days after the doctor order, no updates . So i called the South location and they were like, Oh, no one checked on it. I guess I'll start processing it. Then took a week for to sign the insurance waiver to go through. Another week gone by, nothing updated. so I called again, they were like, Oh, we never sent the test kit, you need it? What a joke and disgrace to the medical professionals. Finally got the kit, did the test next day. then 1 week later, no update. so I called again, they were like, Oh, there is a result a week ago, but we didn't sent to any doctor to review, do you need it now? So basically, if I don't call them it will be in limbo for ever, and god knows how much longer than 7 weeks it will take. Finally got the diagnosis for SIBO, the doctor prescribed in 1 hour. But the antibiotics is like $1300, of course, so it needs to clear prior authorization. 1 week gone by, guess what. Nothing. So I called AGAIN. With whomever angry bird on the phone yelling at me that doctors don't do prior authorization, pharmacy does. And took her 10 mins to calm down and then saying, oh i guess we can do it. now I'm waiting for another week at least to get insurance cleared up. Let's recap. In any remotely competent hospital or medical care system. A test like this should be done in the morning, get the medicine in the afternoon. 24 hours, done and done. With Oregon Clinic? It took me 20+ phone calls, 2 months time, $5000+ dollars, with a great insurance. Just for some antibiotics. Sure it's not life threatening, But I had to live with SIBO for 2 months longer for literally 0 legitimate reason beyond incompetency. Will it improve? Probably not, Oregon Clinic is the only GI specialist net works in Oregon. Even the doctors are great, but the clinics have no incentive to improve it's processing efficiency. Do they care? Didn't sound like it. GI issues are notoriously hard to diagnose, and patients don't look sick, overtime, those medical support staffs just lost sympathy and compassion, and our complains are just annoyance. Why do you write this comment? Well, I'm not gonna be the only one going through this type of events, and if you are going through this stress with this incompetent facility, just hang in there. It will get pass, and stick with low FODMAP diet while you waiting for the never ending process. Cheers, Just another patient trying to have a better life

I should have written a review when I had several visits at this facility, (around August 1st 2018) because I would have had specific examples as to the lack of effective communication on the behalf of the staff and medical personal). However, I refrained, just wanting to stay away from negativity. Fast forward to today, I was trying to retrieve some medical records from my records, from The Oregon Clinic Website. Unfortunately, I could not retrieve any test results, or doctor’s notes, etc. I had a procedure (endoscopy). I have had a lot of stomach pan/issues during the past few years. This past summer, I was diagnosed with SIBO. Recently, I have been in a lot of stomach discomfort, and I plan to see a doctor soon. Thus, I thought I might be useful to retrieve my records from The Oregon Clinic Website. As stated, I did not find my test results, but I did find a section titled: problems, such issues as generalized stomach pain and lumbar disc disease are cited. *However, I was surprised to see on August 1st 2018 Laura Johnson MA documented my daily marijuana use as a problem, especially considering I have been getting it medically for the past 4 years. I am pleased to say that I recently got my medical marijuana license renewed; I have such stomach trouble that my marijuana use is the difference between being able to eat, or not eating anything at all. My specific point, it is unfortunate that The Oregon Clinic views medical marijuana use as a problem to help with stomach pain and not being able to eat…but this reminds me that I am glad that I live in Oregon, where the majority of us do not consider medical marijuana a problem.

Update- I have moved my file from the West Clinic to the East Clinic after speaking with several Medical Professionals who I've been with for 15+ years now. There is definitely enough to make me believe that the treatment that I have received, which is so much like all the other reviews, is seemingly tied to JUST The Oregon Clinic West- Gastroenterology. I received a very 'stock' letter today that is almost the exact same thing they say at the end of each bad review when they respond. I called the West Clinic to see if I needed to do anything to transfer my file there, and I don't, which is really helpful. I just thought I should share what I've found out with anyone who is looking for help picking the right place to go to. I'm relieved because I do not have the energy to stand up to this kind of treatment. Just thought I should share. Thanks for reading. ******************* I don't know why The Oregon Clinic has become so mean and outright condescending when it comes to the office staff. I've been coming here for years and I am definitely trying to NOT have to come here anymore. The phone call I had today was so bad it caused me to start actively looking for care from somewhere else. DON'T go here if you want compassionate care from the office staff, or even common kindness or courtesy. You WILL NOT get it. (I do want to mention that I did speak with one person on the phone one time before today who was really nice. But I think that was because I hit a different number and went to a part of the office that doesn't routinely deal with patients, or if they do, they are nothing like the rest of the staff that does. I felt bad not saying something about this one gentleman who was very helpful AND nice. He's been the only one for quite some time now.) The PA I saw initially was super nice- which is very sad, I think. Because their front line patient experience is just awful. And, this is not just me or the first time, either. Besides that one call of talking with someone nice, even in person, these people are just outright offensive. IN tone AND words they use to communicate. I hate to say this, but since the patient deals with the office staff so much more than the actual PA's and MD's, you would be very wise to look in earnest for another health care facility when it comes to having invasive procedures- even IF the MD's and PA's are ALL nice- I only know the PA I saw on the last visit and my MD is now retired so I haven't even met the new MD I've been assigned to yet. ***This is my personal opinion. However, I have witnessed other patients being treated almost cruelly when at the office in person, also. I mind my own business, but it's hard NOT to overhear the treatment they give to other patients when you are in the waiting room. And, this IS NOT a one time experience, either. Quite the contrary, as I've given them a long period to make sure I wasn't over-reacting or just dealing with someone having a bad day. This is ongoing and wide spread throughout the staff. No one should be made to feel bad for ANY reason when seeing a health care professional. I don't care how much 'trouble' they are for the office staff. ***
