It’s never fun having a tooth extracted, but I was really pleased with the care and treatment I received at Grand Junction Oral Surgery. The oral surgeon and his technician were both first-rate in terms of the performing the procedure itself as well as providing detailed instructions as to followup care. In addition, the office staff were kind, welcoming and efficient. This is definitely the place to go for oral surgical needs!

I needed an emergency tooth extraction and they squeezed me in the same day. The staff were very nice and Dr. Funderburk is very skilled. I had no pain the next day like it didn't even happen. I would gladly recommend them to anyone!

Absolute professionals!! From the moment you walk in the door you are greeted with smiling, friendly, and a very knowledgeable staff. Dr Funderburk, Krista and all the rest were incredible! I was scheduled for an extraction of two teeth. I was admittedly apprehensive but Dr Funderburk and his wonderful staff put me at ease. The procedure was absolutely painless and I had no post operative discomfort nor complications. I requested sedation for the procedure but feel that if, I were to have a similar procedure in the future, I would be comfortable doing without sedation.

We had a good experience with Grand Junction Oral Surgery. My 17 year old Son had his wisdom teeth extracted. When we met the Oral Surgeon he was nice, informative and answered my concerning questions, he even commented on our hoodies, he made my Son feel acknowledged and safe! The front desk ladies were also friendly and attentive. The office is Beautiful, has a warm, comfortable feel. The Only thing I feel they could add is, when a procedure/surgery is scheduled and any medication that is needed after, the office should collect the patient's Pharmacy the 2-3 days before the treatment and instruct the patient, parent of, or care giver to get it filled Before they go in for that said treatment. I had 2 teeth extracted at another office and a bubble formed between the holes of the extracted teeth. Was treated for an infection, of which is was not. So I was referred to this office. The Dr was very informative and said he could open it up and scrape it all out and let it reheal, or wait a little while longer to let it heal on its own. However, if it gets worse, by all means come back. He said there's 50/50 chance for it to heal on its own, but HE would wait. I really appreciated him giving his thought and saving me from getting stuck in the mouth again. That's a great oral surgeon!! Thank you so much!

Do not go to this surgeon. He is rude and disrespectful. I had a appointment with Dr.Funderburk for over a month. I came 54 miles from Rifle to evaluate my son's wisdom teeth and a canine tooth. The Dr. Talked to us for 5 minutes. Stated that he doesn't do consulting, as that is a work for a orthodontist. I said that the orthodontist sent us to him. The bad doctor said that I am having trouble with that office. He then showed us to the door. If he didn't want to see my son he could have called me and saved a trip. Dr. Funderburk is rude and disrespectful, save your self dignity and go some where else.

During my visit I was treated with dignity and respect. The dental hygienist was amazing and she kept me calm throughout the time I entered the building to when I walked out. The doctor was such a professional and very skilled. What an amazing team. Thank you, Dr. Dana

I'm not one to go to the dentist but the people there were friendly fast and little to no pain at all talk to you through the procedure and explained everything thoroughly once it was all done would recommend to anyone needing oral surgery

My experience with Grand Junction Oral Surgery was incredible. These folks know exactly what they are doing. I had no pain, never took any pain meds, and the cost was so reasonable. I really appreciate how they handle the whole tooth issue most of us hate. I would recommend them highly.

Dr. Funderburk removed all 4 of my wisdom teeth last week. I had an amazing time with them! I felt 100% comfortable and safe, he communicated with my family and I very well before going into surgery. I'm healing up fantastically thanks to him! All the staff here are so kind and comforting. Amazing process. 10/10 would recommend!!

After 3 months of canceled and rescheduled appointments by the office, one of which they told my husband was on the 18th but put it in the computer on the 30th, the last appointment he had to reschedule because his grandmother died that morning. Then never rescheduled him that day, after calling back a few days later to schedule an appointment, he was told they stopped taking medicaid on the 31st. After endless nights of not sleeping, extreme paralyzing anxiety they just decided to stop taking medicaid. Yet I find out today someone we know has a Consultation appointment with them next week and she has medicaid. Maybe the fact my husband lost his cool in the office on the 18th while having an anxiety attack contributed to them dropping him as a patient, but why tell him they no longer take medicaid? This office made my husband suffer for 3 months, made me loose sleep due to his anxiety attacks the nights leading up to his appointment, and made our daughter go through the pain of watching her father suffer for absolutely no reason. These people cannot keep an appointment, cannot accurately schedule appointments, and cannot properly bill insurance. They are heartless and do not care an ounce about their clients or their families. Now he has a broken front tooth, and we had to create a go fund me page to pay out of pocket for $6,000 worth of dental work.

Best experience one could expect with oral surgery. Staff is very kind, accommodating, efficient, and concerned with ensuring you are well taken care of. Five stars.

My husband had a bad tooth the staff got him in right away. The staff and Dr was very professional and friendly. The office was very clean and welcoming. Recovered quickly and painlessly. I would recommend this office to anyone with dental problems.

Everyone in the office was super helpful and kind. I felt very at home and taken care of. The day of treatment went so smoothly and they were ready for me as soon as I got there, no waiting time for my nerves to catch up to me. Overall an amazing experience!

TOOTH REMOVAL I had more trouble finding the icon to type this note in, than I did having my tooth removed. Dr Funderburk. and I had a short discussion over what was about to take place. The staff was excellent. Nothing went down my throat that was not supposed to go there. Dr. Funderburk explains each step before he executes it. There was almost zero pain. I was numbed before the shots were given. The procedure took 20 minutes Dr. Funderburk is a dental magician and I recommend him totally.

I've recently gone to this office for two tooth extractions. The staff is friendly and courteous and the office itself is amazing. Dr. Funderburk did both extractions and was amazing. I barely even knew that he had the tooth out. HIs assistant Mikayla (hope I spelled that right) was very attentive as well. overall a very pleasant experience.

I got all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Lilian yesterday and it was such a smooth procedure! All the staff there are super friendly and helpful. I was really nervous but they made me feel comfortable and explained the procedure throughly. They start you on laughing gas to relax you then they do the iv sedation. It felt like it was only 5 minutes and I don’t remember a thing! Dr. Lilian did a great job, I have very minimal pain and discomfort that not a lot of pain killers have been needed. Thank you so much Dr Lilian and the staff at GJOS for all their great services.

I had an appointment to get my wisdoms removed, I’m a Medicaid patient and my ride didn’t show to take me on the morning on my appointment. I called to let them know and they told me they would not reschedule me. I am extremely upset at the fact that I am in this much pain and they would treat me like this. It is honestly sad because this is a serious and seriously painful problem and they are refusing to help. It is also sad that a doctor of any kind would refuse to help a patient especially one in this much pain. Shame on them.

You couldn't choose a better place to have some detailed oral work performed!!!! I had a failing implant and couldn't find anyone in the valley who could do the work in less than 6-8 weeks time. Fortunately I persisted in calling around before finding these folks. They fit me in for an appointment just 2 days after calling. Very friendly. Very organized. Very competent on the oral work. And exceptionally reasonable on the charges. This last part was important because I am retired and on a limited income. I would highly recommend GJOS!!!

Probably my worst experience with anything to do with dentist. Overall, the surgery went well and the front desk people were very kind. But when I went in to get my wisdom teeth removed, they started me on the laughing gas (which the thing didn’t sit right) and a little while later the doctor came in and attempted to do the IVs. I had told them where they have done IVs before. The doctor had put the IVs in very odd places that you wouldn’t normally put an IV and they continued to not be able to get the IV and poke me in random places without asking if I was okay with it. After the 5th one, I finally got the choice to either wait and do it in the hospital or do it without going under. I told them one spot that they didn’t do that other places have done before and they were able to get it, but ended up blowing a vein. After the surgery when I was waking up, the lady who was seeing me out was very rude and rushed me to get up. When she was explaining the post-care, it seemed very rushed.

If you ever need an oral surgeon, Dr. Funderburk at Grand Junction Oral Surgery is the best! I broke a crown off at the gum line. The tooth had a root canal done years ago and this tooth had 3 roots actually penetrating my sinus cavity. After being numbed, it took Dr. Funderburk less than 3 minutes to drill it, section it and remove all 3 roots with NO PAIN. Everyone was friendly, helpful and attentive. Best of all, the cost was very reasonable. I cannot thank everyone enough for their care.

I came in a few weeks ago to get my wisdom teeth removed. They were very professional, procedure was over quicker than I expected. Pain was minimal, would definitely reccomend to anyone considering going here. Thanks again guys!

This place is great if your getting your wisdom teeth removed. Just got mine removed this morning and I was pretty scared. Right when I got in there I was put on laughing gas, given an IV and knocked out. I woke up a little loopy and went home. The numbness does last a while but pain isn’t that bad.

Dr. Funderburk is incredible! I am so grateful for him. We were in an emergency situation with our young daughter and he went WAY above and beyond what was expected. He was so clear in his communication and extremely thorough in discussing options and what the best plan was for short-term and long-term healing. Dr. Funderburk spent a lot of time with us and provided service we haven't experienced from a doctor for a long time. He never looked at a computer, he made us feel important and took the time to listen to our concerns and to come up with solutions. His bedside manner was impeccable and the kindness he extended to our family will not be forgotten. I highly recommend Dr. Funderburk. Thank you Dr. Joe! You really are so talented, but more importantly, you CARE and that is what matters most! Thank you!

Dr. Funderburke helped me through a hard extraction. The man is a genius and he has the best hands around. Staff is super nice and took great care of me. wont go anywhere else ever again.

The facility, staff, and surgeon were all great. The facility is brand new and despite COVID19 going on during my scheduled surgery, I felt the entire place was impeccably clean. The staff called both my dental insurance and medical insurance for me to get a feel for what they would cover prior to my wisdom teeth extraction. That was very helpful and I really appreciate them going the extra mile for me. I dont have much of a history with dental work and Dr. F knew I was really nervous. He and the entire staff took good care of me. I had no complications with my surgery site because they have me great aftercare instructions. I would definitely recommend this dental facility!!!

I had a great experience at Grand Junction Oral Surgery- I went in to get my wisdom teeth removed, I was very nervous, but the surgeon and everyone, including the woman at the front desk made me feel so comfortable and was very sweet. I highly recommend going here!

Surgery went reasonably well, but a couple things didn't sit right with me. Dr. Funderburk sat me down and gave me a speech about how one of the extractions of my wisdom teeth was risky, that I could lose feeling in half my face, and he wanted to make sure I knew what I was getting into. Then he said it would only get riskier if I waited til I was older, though. I asked what the odds were that he would mess up and he said probably a 2% chance... What am I supposed to do with that information? I asked him if he was feeling good that day, if he had gotten enough sleep last night, and he got defensive, acting as if I had no right to ask such things when it was really all on him as to whether or not things would go well. The other thing I didn't like is that they automatically prescribed me opiates. They didn't ask if I had a history of addiction even though we are in the midst of an unprecedented opiate epidemic in this country. I thought it was irresponsible of then to be handing out such dangerous pills as if it were ibuprofen. Lastly, they nearly knocked me out of my chair when they sent me a bill for $1241, only to send me a refund check of $73 a week later. If they knew they had billed insurance and were waiting on it to come through, why give me a scare like that? Surgery went smoothly, people were generally kind and helpful, but they asked me for a review in the mail and these were the thoughts that stuck with me.

On Monday I found out that a tooth I recently broke could not be saved. I called GJOS that day and got an appointment for Wednesday. The staff were super nice over the phone as well as when I got to the office. Dr. Funderburk explained everything to me and answered all my questions. The actual removal of the tooth only took a few minutes. Dr. Funderburk explained every detail as he did it and told me exactly what to expect. It made all the sounds that come with a tooth removal much less scary. Dr. Funderburk even took the time to call my orthodontist to consult with him about what the best plan for me was. I was only in the office for one hour total. I am very happy with how everything went.

I had all my top remaining teeth removed July 2020. David Lillian DDS. Did an outstanding job. Entire process was so much easier than I thought. I highly recommend this dental surgery practice and their very trained staff.

What can I say .....I was in extreme pain from a bad molar and from out of state, I found this place from Google reviews and so I went to see if they could get me in on short notice , the staff was just showing up for work and next thing you know my tooth was extracted all done in about 1 hour ......great job ! I would highly recommend them .

This is a very professionally led firm that takes the time to explain what is going to occur and more importantly, what will not happen. The support staff is highly trained, competent, and caring.

Great experience. Dr Funderburk is a bit cut and dry but the procedure was flawless. I had 4 wisdom teeth removed and experienced minimal pain that was subdued with ibuprofen. Dr. Funderburk explained that his office is the only office (that he knows of) that speeds up the healing process by drawing vials of your blood and tricking it into producing a healing substance which he places into the gums to speed up the healing process. Highly recommended. Excellent front staff, they could not have been nicer.

I called this office in the most excruciating pain I'd ever experienced looking to simply consult with an oral surgeon even remotely near me in Basalt, CO and I was listened to and heard immediately by the office staff who squeezed me into an appointment time for the very next day when Dr. Funderburk emergently took out an impacted tooth with the very little time he had in his schedule! I still cannot adequately express how thankful I am to such incredibly kind strangers. In addition, I overpaid I suppose by $13.00 and received a timely refund in the mail. What a pleasant, pleasant surprise to open an envelope looking like a bill only to receive a refund! I am struck by the honesty and kindness of this practice and would refer anyone to them. Thank you all so deeply!

As far as the surgery goes, they did great. I was in and out and recovered in less than a week. I am a little annoyed that I filled out a bunch of paper work and when I left they gave me a prescription with my first name spelt wrong and the wrong last name (what is the point of filling in personal info if they don’t even use it?) I went back in to get it fixed and they still continue to send me mail with a bogus name on it.

I had a semi-emergency situation late in the afternoon and GJOS brought me in on 30 minutes notice. Dr. Joseph Funderburk then resolved the problem, professionally and pain-free. All of the staff and medical personnel are outstanding. I am happy to recommend this practice.

Absolute amazing place with great staff! Had a horrible experience taking one wisdom tooth out a couple years ago in Switzerland, which they were very understanding and considerate of. Everything was very well explained and I am in less pain after taking 3 teeth out then I was after the one. They also made an exception for me regarding my type of insurance because I was in pain and had been on the waitlist at another place for months with no luck. Dr. Funderburk knows exactly what he is doing and is very kind just like all the other staff there. Thanks guys!
