Dr. McGrew has phenomenally treated my Menieré’s Disease. He is very knowledgeable and listens to the needs of his patients.

Those who are visiting an ENT for surgery please think twice before consenting to do any surgery especially middle or inner ears related. I had a birth defect to my right ear , skin was intact, no ear cannel opening but per CAT scan and MRI and hearing test , I was told by ENT specialist in my town that my middle ear and inner ear are existed and all I need is an outer ear cannel opening. Well, got referred to UAB Kirklan clinic to see Dr. Benjamin McGrew and after 2 years of going back and forth and repeating tests and scans , I was promised an excellent outcome and only thing that I was warned about was my facial nerve which was assured that it shouldn’t be a worry because they use monitors to sense any change during the surgery. Well, that part went well but everything else went wrong , ended up with a prosthetic bone inside my ear cannel in the middle of the surgery that I wasn’t told anything about , shape of ear cannel is awfully awful and susceptible to infection , acquired ear infections that is untreatable because new ear doesn’t produce any ear wax that fight and protect ear from infection, redo and stretching all nerves around inner ear that causes nerve pain and damage, I wasn’t told anything of all of that!! Since the surgery back 2016 till now I been suffering from sever headache, sever chronic ear infection, any high tone voice causes nerve pain, can’t take a shower or be in water like I used to , can’t even use ear plug because of the drilled opening he did awful. Been going back and forth to dr Ben McGraw and he keeps asking me to redo scans and test and trying his best to tell me everything looks good , went to ear specialist in Huntsville and out of state and no one can help because whatever bone was drilled and reconstruction can’t be redone. I forgot to mention, partial loss of testing and tingling and firing sensation in my tong because of the inflammation of the nerve that goes behind ear. I am sorry if I waste your time, but please do anything possible before you let someone promise you something and put you to sleep and drill down your brain and then tell you I am sorry your not feeling good about the surgery. Ben McGraw didn’t tell my any complications and I promise if I was told half of what I am suffering right now , I won’t do surgery. I hired an attorney but he is finding it hard to go after UAB but still trying. GOOD LUCK and pray for me please!

Who hasn’t waited at one point or another at a Physician’s office? If you want amazing care from one of the top in his field coupled with a great team, then it is worth the wait. I recommend Dr. McGrew and Team 100 times over.

I have received excellent care and friendly helpful services. I haven't waited any longer than any other doctors appointments. My only complaint is they send text messages for payment, and no information on what the charge is for. I was given on on request. Dr. McGrew is an excellent doctor and spends time with the patient and answered all of my questions.

Bring a snack as you will get hungry while you wait ridiculously long to see the doctor. Don’t expect help from the office staff as they are busy sharing life’s inequities amongst themselves. The only saving grace is I will be paying for their services accordingly. I think for every 15 minutes I spend waiting, I will extend paying for their services by a month…30 minute wait, they wait two month for payment .

Bad customer service. Look elsewhere.

If you work near this building they will harass, and complain to your employer/contractor if you park in the PUBLIC parking space while they have their own private empty parking lots. The fat Karen’s working here while stare at you and give you the stink eye.

This place will harass you if you park near their the public parking space near their building.

After several years of increasing hearing loss, we decided to make an appointment with Dr. McGrew to see if my grandfather was eligible for a cochlear implant. After performing hearing tests and an MRI, we found out he was eligible. Dr. McGrew was extremely kind and incredibly helpful and informative throughout the process. Dr. McGrew performed the surgery and today, 4 weeks after the surgery, my grandfather’s implant was turned on. For the first time in over a year, I could speak to my grandfather and he could hear me!! I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. McGrew and the audiologist at Alabama Ear Specialists. Today has been an incredible day filled with many tears of joy. I highly recommend this practice to anyone with hearing loss. We are so happy that my grandfather has his hearing and his life back!!
