I have been a patient of Dr. Smith for many years. Everyone there is wonderful! I actually look forward to my visits to the dentist!

Wonderful place, wonderful people. Everyone at A Reason to Smile is friendly and treats you like family as soon as your arrive. I have spent years without an actual dentist, as I have never been good at brushing and have felt a bit embarrassed about that. Last year, I decided to fix my brushing habits and get an actual dentist, and now I am very happy that I chose A Reason to Smile when browsing online. They didn't make me feel bad, at all, about the cavities I came in with, nor my past fillings. They also gave me pointers and encouragement...I now have good brushing and flossing habits!

The staff is amazing, I love the doctor... As someone who's had extreme anxiety and stress with dental issues, this is by far the most reassuring and kind group you could possibly see. It's gotten me over my fear of dentistry. They are great about getting patients in to be seen, and I couldn't say enough good things about them. Laura and Teddi and Dr. Smith & everyone... You are fantastic!

I had a wisdom tooth extracted today. It truly amazed me how simple the procedure went. Not at all like the days when I was young. New tools being used that are speedy and efficient. I am very pleased with the outcome of the procedure.

Our family has been patients of Dr. Smith and A Reason to Smile since before our kids were born in 1995. We have always had the best service with their caring, friendly staff. As a matter of fact, the staff are like family! Dr. Smith and Donna have been there all the years we have - that says something. We also appreciate that Dr. Smith stays absolutely current with state-of-the-art dentistry. He has worked with us over the years with various changes in our insurance status. And our kids have always felt comfortable and listened to during hygiene, dentist and invisalign appointments. Thank you Dr. Smith and Staff for our beautiful smiles!!

This is the most friendly dentist office I have ever been to. That make me feel special. Dr Craig Smith had created an incredibly warm, efficient, professional and effective practice. This has been my dentist for 3.5 yrs and I was able to literally walk across the street. I moved across town but I plan on keeping A Reason to Smile as my dentist for as long as I live in Boise.

Recommended by my Insurance company and I feel like I should send them a thank you gift for it! I am terrified of going to the dentist and haven't been for 10+ years, although I have insurance, it was only for an emergency and that's what happened 03.30.21. Had to have a wisdom tooth extracted, they were able to get me in within a few hours of calling. Due to my anxiety of going to the dentist my teeth need a lot of care to be done to them, they never made me feel bad about it or did I feel judged at all. They were kind, professional, accommodating and I seriously can't believe I am writing this for a dentist! I made a follow up appointment to meet all of these issues head-on and have all the faith that my wisdom tooth took me exactly where I was supposed to be to get over this fear! HIGHLY recommend, kind of to the point of insistence!

The staff at a Reason to Smile are very friendly and genuinely care about patient needs. I was impressed with how clean and organized the facility was especially during these COVID circumstances. I was comfortable and well taken care of.

I absolutely LOVE A Reason to Smile! I have never looked forward to dental appointments but, I do now. I cannot say enough about the staff, they are always warm and welcoming. In addition to my periodontal cleanings, Dr. Smith has performed two root canals, one bone graph in my very small mouth! Dr. spent over an hour with me during my Invisalign consultation...i had alot of questions and I am happy to say they are the way to go! I have made A Reason to Smile my permanent home for dental care...after being with the same dentist for 9 years. Why??? Exceptional service and the quality of work. We love A Reason to Smile!!!! Dr. Smith and all the staff are So friendly and kind and Laura and Austin are so accommodating and easy to work with!!! All my kids love coming here. We have never had to wait for appointments which is really important to us. We also really appreciate that we never feel like Dr. Smith is trying to push additional treatments so we trust him not to do unnecessary and costly dental treatments.

I have absolutely nothing but amazing things to say about this dentist office! Having bad experiences when I was younger (like many of us have) I went too many years not going in to get my teeth worked on or even cleaned. Dr. Smith and all his staff have made going to the dentist something I look forward to. I feel like family when I go in and my teeth are great and have no issues with the Dr.s help! Definitely recommend this place!!!

The staff and assistants were exceptional however Dr. Smith left a lot to be desired. I had to have all my teeth extracted due to all my mes I'd taken for years and I had dry mouth. I never received a good fit with my dentures, never. When I complained, the problem was always my fault. My dry mouth, I never complained upon leaving the office, etc. Hat is odd is that since the extraction of my bad teeth, I' ve never once had a problem with dry mouth. After the final fitting, the same excuses were expressed and excused from his care. I have never been pleased with the dentures, I can haeat only one meal and then have to reapply my fixative, I dare not sneeze or they will fly across the room, it's just a joke. Now I will have to go to another dentist to try a repair. I've gone through 5 different fixatives and none work longer then 5 hrs and I pray I dont have to eat. I do not recommend a reason to smile for dentures.

Friendly staff and hygienists. But with in a span of around four years.. Needed two separate fillings filled by Dr. Smith to be subsequently replaced by Dr.Smith. One fell out and another cracked. I’m not paying a dentist to replace his own work every 2-4 yrs. I have fillings from childhood that are still good to this day and I’m now 35 years old. You be the judge.

I love this dentist office so much. I absolutely hate getting my teeth cleaned but I actually look forward to coming to this office and seeing the staff here. Brooke cleans my teeth and does an amazing job making me feel comfortable and calm.

Very talented staff. The hygienists are miracle workers, and they are soooo accommodating. I couldn’t be happier with my dentist and his team. I have been receiving cleaning treatments for periodontal disease and had some pretty serious work done... I chose the sedation method...5 hours in the chair... Dr. Smith followed up with me that evening to make sure everything was okay! My mouth feels so good and CLEAN! Shout out to Dr. Smith! Such a friendly family feel! Dr. Smith is so good at giving great care and attention to his patients! I recently had some major work done and between him and Tammy (his assistant) I was so well taken care of. Tammy was truly the best! 2 hours went by so fast...we were having a great time ! Donna is great! I almost fell asleep in her chair she was so good! She made me feel comfortable,and cozy. I don’t have a fear of the dentist, but if you do, ask for Donna, she will take great care of you! I mentioned my teeth’s sensitivity to cold, and she didnt use anything remotely cold during my cleaning. I really appreciate her attention to my needs. She also gave me a few sensitivity toothpastes which I appreciate. Thanks A Reason To Smile, and BIG THANKS to Donna!

Not a huge fan of going to the dentist in general, I will be going back to A Reason to Smile though. Great staff, awesome hygienists, and Dr. Smith really put me at ease, even though my teeth are not in the best shape. If you are looking for a no nonsense, professional operation, this is it.

I highly recommend A Reason to Smile for your dental care. The staff are incredibly nice and helpful. It’s easy to schedule appointments and I love that they do early appointments before work. The $100 referral is a great perk, too. I have had nothing but positive experiences here.

Dental assistants are amazing, but if you need a crown I'd choose a different place. Great for cleaning and cavities.

I am excited to rate "A Reason To Smile", and to share my review publicly. I would encourage everyone to consider Dr. Craig and his staff for all of your dental needs. Both my mom and I were more than pleased with the experiences we just had yesterday. We were received with courtesy, understanding, and compassion. The office staff, the medical staff, and Dr. Craig made every effort to calm our insecurities and anxiety. Our concerns were addressed, our questions were answered, and our individual personal needs were met with pleasure. I cannot express enough how grateful we both are that we were referred to Dr. Craig and his staff at, "A Reason to Smile". So we, in turn, would like to give our referral.

Donna was excellent - very thorough and friendly. And I appreciated Dr. Smith's professional and warm chair-side manner.

I have been going to a reason to smile for over five years. Dr. Smith is a great dentist who personally followed up with me after some work that same afternoon. There are some fantastic hygenists that are friendly and personable. Austin knows what he is doing at the front desk.

Routine cleanings were great, gentle and thorough. However, I would NEVER recommend getting your wisdom teeth pulled here. I had my 2 upper wisdom teeth pulled by Dr. Smith that resulted in chronic sinusitis. I realize this is a risk you take in getting your upper wisdom teeth pulled, though I don’t think it was handled correctly. If Dr Smith had realized it was going to be difficult to pull, I should have been sent to a surgeon, not a general dentist. Nothing was said, so out came my wisdom teeth. 5 days post, I noticed a strange smell/taste in my mouth that wouldn’t go away. I called Dr Smith and he prescribed me an anti biotic. 2 weeks later I called again bc symptoms weren’t getting better. He had me come in so he could take a look. No x-ray, just had me open my mouth and took a mirror to the extraction site. He didn’t say much other than prescribed me 2 other antibiotics. I called him after I had finished those and he told me if I still didn’t feel better to call back in 10 days. I was tired of waiting with zero answers...After being in so much pain I finally referred myself to an ear, nose and throat doctor(Dr Killian) killian got me in for a CT scan that day and all 3 of my sinus cavities (on one side) were completely blocked- and a new diagnosis of chronic sinusitis. My only choices to help with the pain were steroids or surgery. I had my CT scan sent directly to Dr Smith to show him why I was feeling/and in SO much pain the past weeks. He called me back and wanted me to come in. I almost broke down in tears bc of the frustration, pain, runaround, and medical bills I was now dealing with all while also training for a marathon and getting ready for my wedding. I asked Dr Smith if there was anyway I could be reimbursed or helped and he told me no, but he would give me a free x ray to give to my sinus Dr. really!?! I was shocked. This was 1.5 years ago and I am still in pain daily. (Hence, chronic) I’m an avid runner and it constantly bothers me. I’m not asking for a pitty party but I really think this whole situation was handled terribly and would hate for this to happen to someone else.

Excellent service! The staff are incredibly friendly and run on time. The dental hygienist remembered me, asked me about things we had talked about 6 months ago, AND did a great job cleaning my teeth. As soon as she was the done the doctor came in for the exam - so efficient! I actually had fun at the dentist office! Who knew?!

I was given an estimate of a $700 out-of-pocket expense after a $1300 insurance claim. Dr Smith did the work and then billed me for an additional $751. After receiving the bill, I spoke to the office manager on the phone multiple times, and personally went into the office on two separate occasions to find a mutually agreeable solution. Dr. Smith refused to speak to me directly. The office was very combative and offensive when I expressed concern over an estimate off by over 100%. The manager initially placed all of the blame on me, and eventually conceded to "errors in both parties." After pursuing all reasonable efforts to pay an amount closer to the estimate, I was forced to pay the full amount in order to save my credit from going to collections.
