I had to wait over a month for an appointment. When I showed up I was informed they did not take my insurance. They referred me to an LVHN that had 15 different specialties in one room so their GI is only there three days of the month. I was told that there was a waiting list to be considered for an appointment. So now, I have no where to go for my health issues I already waited one month for.
Just left the office NOW and the check out person named SUE was rude and had attitude. I come from far to bring my mom in the office. It bother her that I spoke spanish and needed to translate. When requesting the summary she made a rude remark. Also, she raised her voice at me, saying like are you listening to me or not or do you pay any mind. There is no behave in such manner. She uggh also when the employee said there was one other patient left to check out she stated I got to go. Please not only use the sign out front for patients but also for employees that need a friendly reminder. Curtesy 101.
A lot of miscommunication with appointments & procedures. Unintentionally missed a follow up visit booked 3 months prior. Did not get phone call. Text was unknown sender. Which I don’t respond to. Procedure was changed at the last minute to the hospital. Did not have clear understanding where that office was within the hospital. Went to outpatient diagnostic center. Was told no procedure for me! Called docs office & was given directions while walking to the correct suite! Doc was waiting for my arrival. NEVER EXPERIENCED SO MUCH STRESS for any other of my healthcare procedures.
My first visit was with Michelle Asteak PA-C . She listened and answered my questions thoroughly. She has the ability to put the patient at ease during the appointment.I would highly recommend her.
Nazareth Endoscopy Center is the best!! All staff and physicians are kind and caring. Facility is spotless and very comfortable. Thank you to everyone. If you need a procedure, this facility or EPEC is the place to go ?

I had a good experience and they got me in quickly for my colonoscopy!
Great Docs! A little laid back, and a little concise… perfect combination. They are very knowledgeable and they listen! An amazing trait these days for a medical professional! I highly recommend.
This place is BEYOND unprofessional. The office manager just cursed me out and then hung up on me for no reason whatsoever
My mother Patricia was the patient I was with her. We were both impressed with Dr. Short and will refer anyone that would need this type of medical help. Also Wanda went above and beyond helping us get a test scheduled. We have not had this type of great and professional service for a long time. It was exceptional. Can't thank you both enough. Thanks
Dr. Costanzo is EXCELLENT!! Attentive, extremely knowledgeable, straight forward & goes the extra mile to help his patients.
Highly recommend. Front desk staff very friendly. Dr. Patel was very thorough and kind. Kiara was very helpful with the scheduling process.
If you book an appointment plan on waiting. Doctor was knowledgeable and reassuring. Staff more interested in fixing ponytail than assisting patients who have waited over an hour for appointment. Then you get to wait to check out. Management overbooked facility, not staff's fault. That said, steps could have been taken to prevent this.
I just tried to schedule an appointment for a colonoscpy. I was told that I could not get a colonospy until I scheduled an appointment to "review" things before the colonosopy. In other words: you need to come in twice so we can make as much money as we can off of you. What a rip off! You shoudl be ashamed to call yourselves doctors. Do you really care about your patients or do you just want to make money. Barf. Part 2 in response to your reply: I had a referral from my doctor. You could have had access to my medical records. So now what is your excuse? Bad customer service? Uncaring doctors? Or just money hungry?
I can't say enough GOOD about the Dr's and staff at EPGI. They are the BEST!!! I wouldn't trust my or my family's gastro health to any others!
I am not sure why other people have had bad experiences. Being in customer service my entire life I found everything well done. Especially the nursing staff and doctors. Alicia helped me a nurse, and Dr. Wong was terrific. I certainly would recommend them. In a busy world that is pressuring all, I always felt cared for.
The nursing staff and the doctor in charge were experienced, prompt, and calming. Couldn't have asked for much more.
One of the best medical experience I've ever had. I was seen exactly at my scheduled appointment time. Everyone was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The nurse that took my medical information and Sarah Ochs, PA-C, eased my very worried mind. They made me feel very relaxed. Even the check out person made me feel very comfortable. My appointment was AWESOME!
I had a 2nd colonoscopy consultation but was not informed they were not in network with my insurance. I have spent $165 out of pocket and lost 2 days of wages and have to start over again somewhere else. This is ridiculous. In my 30+ years working in medical offices I have never scheduled anyone without telling them the provider is not in network. I'm ready to just not get this procedure. I can't afford anymore time off or copays.
This office processes a plethora of patients which results in supercilious policies. One has cause to wonder which is their priority; the patient, the policy, or the process.
The office is run very efficiently and the wait time was minimal. I really like my doctor, Dr Hickey, he is caring and very thorough. He asks a lot of questions and he listens to me when I talk to him about my issues so we can figure out the best way to proceed.
If you are really sick, go find another doctors office. You won't be seen in a timely manner. The doctors bedside manner is terrible and when you're really sick in the hospital, trust me this matters.too. This office tried to change a medication I have been on for years while I was in the hospital. However noone bothered to look at my chart to see one side effect causes seizures and I have epilepsy! They refused to take me seriously and after 6 days in the hospital in pain another surgeon from another doctor's practice ended up removing my gallbladder. I would never ever use this office or doctors again. Please advocate for yourself and loved ones. Never take new medications in the hospital without asking for the print out. My entire experience with this practice was a nightmare.
This office (Palmer) just simply have it all together. Even during Covid. Everything flowed smoothly and that has seldom happened in doc offices these days. Props to Dr. Costanzo.
I don't agree with the negative reviews. Briana was very thoughtful, professional and very helpful setting up my appointment. She responded to all my requests and followed up with a confirmation phone call. Briana gets an A in my opinion.
I've been going to Dr. Peyton for 5 years. He explains in detail, answers questions in terms you can understand, and has managed and improved my health immensely. As a bonus, he has a great personality and actually cares about your personal well being. His nurse Sherri is on top of things and has always followed thru immediately with any questions or requests I have had. I would highly recommend them.
My experience with this office is very good.
The staff there is really nice. I checked in, and immediately was called back. Checkout was as well very timely, and super helpful. I can not thank Dr. Mendelson enough. He really listened to me, and after many years of suffering, and many doctors with no relief I finally found the right one with him. I drive an hour one way to see him, and It is well worth the drive. I highly recommend him as GI doctor.
Dr. Hiral Shah is by far the best doctor I have ever had. He truly cares about your health and will spend as much time with you as it takes for you to understand and be comfortable with whatever your issue is. I had to have surgery last year and him and Dr Beman were absolutely amazing. They called my wife every day to check on me and to make sure my wife was ok with what was going on as well. Truly amazing doctors and I would recommend either one of them to anybody. I literally can not say enough good things about them. Thank you so much Dr Shah and Dr Beman for everything you have done for me over the last year and a half.
I called to schedule an appointment for colonoscopy screening . the one who answer the phone very rude person, lake of knolge , unprofessional to be in this office. After she took my Information just hangups on me. ??????!!!!!!!
Sarah Ochs has cared for me for several months and she goes above and beyond typical patient care in my opinion. She’s a good listener, is patient and kind and has placed follow-up calls to me on several occasions. She is knowledgeable and explains her recommendations carefully. She is an asset to EPGI!
Dr.Blanco is a good doctor and has a very nice personality. She makes you feel comfortable and not stressed when she is doing your colonascapy. I'm happy she is my gastrologist.
Dr. Engels and staff were wonderful.
Had a wonderful experience with all of the staff at EPGI and would most definitely recommend this practice. All of my concerns were addressed by Dr Hickey who is caring and very thorough!
I absolutely love Dr. Blanco, but the office itself is horrible. Front desk staff ignores you when you walk in. One person in particular (not sure of her name, but she ends up checking me in every visit) can't even be bothered to look at you or God forbid, crack a smile. I had mentioned this to my infusion nurse and she agreed that she's not very friendly and even mentioned that multiple people have complained about her. Staff at checkout also seem to ignore you and occupy themselves with other work rather than calling you over. The entire office seems highly unorganized and unfriendly. The staff are definitely not customer oriented and they can all use some training on how to properly interact with patients.
Friendly, efficient and competent staff. And, everyone followed the appropriate COVID-19 safetey protocols.
I really enjoy seeing Sarah the PA, she has been really helpful!
I will be looking for a new Dr I recently had 2 procedures done by one of their Drs. I believe I was lied to about what took place in the surgical room. Another huge issue is the gross incompetence of their office staff. The nurses and other staff are extremely rude and lack any personality at all. They are also severely disorganized. They don’t update the patients info based on the paperwork they have you fill out. Also forget about ever hearing back from them it’s like pulling teeth from a lion. They don’t believe that you deserve a return phone call. You will play phone tag with them for weeks and possible months.
I've only set up and appt at this point in time and the scheduling dept is rude as hell. It's not funny how I'm already experiencing what every other review is talking about - it's disgusting and a disgrace that they talk to people how they do. The medical board of directors really needs to assess how this place is run. That experience made me want to transfer out of this network and go elsewhere.
Terrible place. Avoid at all cost. Husband had appointment here. A prescription was called in to pharmacy, pharmacy said medicine was unavailable and asked doctor for a substitution. Doctor never got back to pharmacy. We called doctor’s office to follow up, left a message, and never got a return call. Went elsewhere.
I will start by saying that I was terrified to get my first colonoscopy. I had already started the process with 2 other gastros in my area and chickened out both times. I was given a recommendation for this practice and more specifically Dr. Paola Blanco by a trusted friend and I decided that I would make the appointment and even promised my worried mother that I would keep it this time. My experience was fantastic from beginning to end. I was treated with kindness and professionalism by the receptionist, made the initial appointment with ease. I felt comfortable with Dr. Blanco from the first meeting. She actually recommended a medication for both my IBS and ongoing IC that had never before in all of my years going to both urologists and gastros been mentioned which immediately helped with a lot of my symptoms. The front desk made sure I got the first available appointment for a colonoscopy. I found the prep to be far more tolerable than I ever could have imagined, the procedure itself was a breeze. The nurses were lovely and Dr. Blanco explained everything thoroughly and has a fantastic bedside manner. I highly recommend EPGI.
Dr. Shah is great, he takes the time to listen to any concerns and answers your question clearly. He is truly concerned about your care.
I can’t say enough about EPGI. Dr. Shah is wonderful and really cares about his patients. He has done amazing things for me to improve my health. Service at the front desk was nice and got me Checked in quickly. My appointment was at 9:00 and they called my name (in a room full of people) at 8:58. I would recommend this group to everyone.
I cannot say enough about Dr. Shashin Shah. With everything going on this year, he has been the epitome of professionalism. I do not envy him or his staff in these most difficult of times, but I do need to say thank you for being there for me. From the courtesy I was shown walking in the door to the follow-up calls to continue my care, it has changed my life. Great doctor! Great practice!
Horrible patient care. Doctors have attitudes. I had tests done and never received the results. Find a different place to go.
Very bad people. Just looking for money. Not except any insurance. I hope the government closed this dirty place.
I had an appointment with Dr Engles on 10/14. My journey with Dr. Engles began over a year ago. Dr E is very informative and knowledgeable about my condition. His staff is incredible. From the schedulers to check in everyone is very helpful and friendly. I've been on this journey for over 4 years with different Drs from other networks. I was just a number and none of the Drs looked into the root cause of my concerns. Dr E takes the time to hear what you 're telling him. If I takes time before he enters my room I totally understand because he's giving the patient before me the same treatment that he gives to me. After seeing Dr E I have a diagnosis and I'm feeling better than I felt in over 4 years. With the treatments that I'm receiving I have my life back. I have been recommending Dr E and his colleagues to a others. I highly recommend Dr Engles.
I think the PA and doctor I have seen are great. The way the practice is run is terrible. Scheduling is a pain, follow up with tests is terrible, and trying to get someone to fix a medication order took days. I will have had 3 visits in November and plan on finding another place to go to.
Hello, I would like to tell anyone who is searching for anything from digestive to colon or liver problems. This is a very upbeat and professional business. The staff is so patient and the Doctors are very professionally trained! It was a comforting experience. Definitely Recommended! Thank you, Debra R.
I accompanied my husband for a procedure at Muhlenberg Hospital this morning. Dr. Shah performed the procedure. He explained everything in detail and answered all questions we had — everything was handled in an exceptional manner. The staff was very courteous also. Their calls before the procedure and explanations were above and beyond!
Front desk is rude, first time in to drop off paperwork, waiting on line, the one girl calls a guy in the back waiting instead of the girl infront of me. I was dropping off paperwork, rude, I thought I was being helpful only to have the person never look at me when talking, never thanking me or have a nice day, forget that, I'm going to LVHN!
I have been a patient of Dr. Hiral Shah for many years. He has always shown great compassion, kindness, and is an excellent gastroenterologist. He makes the effort to ensure my comfort with the decisions about my care. His follow up is outstanding. His office is very accommodating to my needs and schedule.
I have been a patient here for a year. Not only have they not been able to help me but my bills are through the roof with still no answers. I've been trying desperately for over 2 months to make an appointment. I've left 5 voicemails and still haven't herd back. Everytime I call I'm on hold for 15+mins. I am very sick. I throw up almost everyday and at this point all I want is my medical records faxed over to a different doctor so I can get the help I need. I cant afford to retake any of those expensive and invasive tests. I thought they were great at first but I was so wrong! DONT go here, find somewhere else where they actually care about their patients.
We see dr Engels. He is very knowledgeable and thorough. He caught my celiac and colon cancer very quickly a general surgeon missed. Three stars is because it is so difficult to get an appointment.
My family has been very impressed with EPGI. I have mulitple family members with GI issues and have been treated at EPGI. One of those family members had severe issues and had been previously treated at Temple University; he then was referred by another local provider EPGI. He has been very vocal about getting better care at EPGI then he ever got at Temple. The physicians at EPGI have been very knowledgeable, professional and caring. They take the time needed to understand the problem as best as possible and utilize their knowledge to develop a comprehensive treatment plan that is best for the patient. The doctors and their staff have always acted professionally, and we truly couldn't be happier with the practice!
I was going to book an appointment but the reviews are worse than geisinger
was cursed at over the phone, and then stood up for my appointment which I waited for 7 months to get.
The nastiest staff under the earthly sun at the Schoersville Rd location. Waited 3 months for a new patient visit, then Got treated like I had the plague when I went to the window to check in. Told they do not accept my insurance, and they threw me out the door. efff yooo!!
I would highly recommend that if you are in need of a gastroenterologist that you look elsewhere! I have had nothing but heartache from dealing with this office! Not only are they rude, unhelpful, unsympathetic and seem only to be revenue driven. I was flat out lied to in which I was told that I would receive ( and was not mailed ) a work excuse note from work because I am suffering from a serious digestive system illness. They are also resentful if you don't make appointments to see them on a regular basis even if you are feeling well. Look at all the other 1 star reviews and you will see a pattern here. This all happened during a tele visit during the covid19 crisis because unlike other doctors, they wont see you in person! You've been warned!
Very friendly and professional. Everyone treated us like we were family. Had a colonoscopy. Everything went well. No complaints. Would recommend them to everyone.
The support staff were good. The doctors however give you 5-10 minutes and don't really allow much time for questions. Neither did they really take an interest in all my symptoms so I'm still having difficulties. But they didn't give me much time to hear what those were. You're pretty in and out. My experience and my dad's. Decided to go somewhere where you're more a patient than a set of data. I've still got all
This place is horrible. Volume is way too high and they pay no attention to detail. Twice I had procedures scheduled, but was not sent proper prep info and had to reschedule after taking off work and traveling to the office. They don’t seem to care and just make you wait another month+ for any reschedules. This place is a joke, I’m switching to a practice that actually cares about their patients and patients experience and doesn’t just try to schedule as many appointments as possible. This place is a money making factory not a doctor’s office. Go somewhere else. To respond now and only to a public posting is far from how this should have been handled. If your office cared about my experience I would have heard from someone personally after both occurrences. Each time I head nothing and was asked to reschedule weeks or months later. I’m not interested in getting trapped your quagmire of a communication system where you can only get in touch with a voicemail, just to hear a line of b.s. prompted by this posting. Again, what a joke.
Dr blanco saved my life after years of struggling with crohns symptoms. She is a blessing from god and has saved my life. Very kind and caring.i would trust her with anything. Thank you doctor blanco! ??
Dr S. Shah has cared for me over the last few years, and after I visited for an opinion on a suspect area. Further, I’ve had Rouen Y surgery, and Dr. Shaw found Barrets Syndrome as well. He removed what was a throat tumor, abladed the Barrets, and I am completely free of cancer, and Barrets hasn’t shown up in nearly 2 years. Saved my life. Steve Grover
Staff never answers the phone, when you're on hold - they pick up and hang up. No matter what time you call you can never get a person that answers the phone. This office used to be good - but no more.
I don't understand all the bad reviews. Has always been a good experience for me. Very professional, caring, doctor listened to me and was very gentle and thorough in explaining info.
