Primary care is a joke. Women are second class. You have to fight for anything you need and sometimes it's just easier to seek help elsewhere despite the financial hit.

I have nothing but good things to say about everyone I've interacted with at this VA and I've been going here very regularly for 3 years. I really do appreciate the entire staff for their good service , care, and compassion.

I have tried calling several times to schedule an appointment to get my VHIC but nobody picks up the phone when I select to talk to enrollment person. It just rings, it doesnt even give me a choice to leave a message or a time that I may get someone. All I can say is they need to get there stuff straightened out and treat us Veterans with the respect we deserve. I would like to us the benefits that I have earned.

Alice in Allentown Audiology is outstanding! She fixed my hearing aid today and made my day!! Its not the first time either, Alice did my last hearing test and was really nice. Thank you Alice.

Just another mediocre VA clinic. Some staff are friendly, but that’s about it. Prepare to constantly get the runaround and no clear answers. When calling prepare to be transferred to nowhere or be put on hold until you give up.

The call center is a nightmare the woman who answered the phone tried to schedule my husband at a bar clinic 2 hours away rather then 20 minutes away and then when I questioned her she put me o. Hold and sent me to a voicemail. This is a great way to treat our veterans ! Bravo

As a Non-Service Connected Veteran and a Past County Commander and a Service Officer with the American Legion, I recently transferred here to save driving 75 miles to East Orange VA in N.J.Back in June 2019 I had an Eye exam here in Allentown and at the end of the exam the examiner gave me a paper to go to an outside vendor and buy glasses!LOL.Wait I have been getting eyewear at no cost since 1986 from East Orange VA as a Non Service connected Vet.So I asked why?Allentown and Wilkes-Barre's answer was here in Pa you pay. Here is what I don't understand all 3 facilities as all VAs are on federal property. You don't see Allentown Police cars or police officers. This is Federal Land or Federal land.So why is Allentown making Veterans go outside for glasses and pay out of pocket and other VAs don't.VA preaches Universal Healthcare for Vets. Allentown and Wilkes Barre needs to be reminded they are a Federal Entity ruled by the Federal Govt not Pennsylvania.Remember, when you roll thru the gates of the VA facilities you are No longer in Pennsylvania or the state you live.

Being a registered nurse and a veteran I don't have as much trouble as many do getting the care that is needed. I know the questions to ask and I do not leave the room until I have asked every question that is on my mind. In fact, I write them down so I have a list and that way I do not forget what I came here for. I have no trouble with my nurse or my primary physician they both seem very nice and concerned but I cannot say that for every person who works there. There are some who seem rude, very short with the patients. I feel sorry for them because it's evident that they do not realize what it is like to have PTSD or to be ill from wounds received while in service. But if by this time they have not learned to be compassionate and caring, Perhaps it is time for them to get out of their professions.

I am relatively new to the entire VA and it’s services. Every appt has been on time and all of the staff is super friendly and helpful. I have been pleasantly surprised with the quality of service considering the bad rap the VA has in the media... A+ to the Allentown clinic!!!

Bring a book, and plan on waiting 20-40 minutes after your scheduled appointment time. I have been coming here for 20 years, and I have never been seen at the time scheduled. They are always running late, and then they rush you through things. I guess they figure veterans don't have anything else to do, nor any other options for healthcare? So I make sure to take my time, ask questions, and take notes. they hate that.

My provider repeatedly calls out of work on the day of my appointments, I am already driving to the va when they call saying its canceled. Then they dont refill my medication that should have been filled by the provider who called out of work. I have been asking for months to get transferred back to the wilkes barre va but I've gotten nowhere. I'm also 100% permanently disabled by the va and this is the stuff I have to deal with. I'm afraid of what's going to happen to me when I become an old person.

This VA clinic is pathetic at best, everyone that works here seems miserable to be there, receptionist are rude, the security guard I spoke with acted as if I did something wrong and all I was asking was for help....he treated me so disrespectful that I really thought this guard was prejudiced, but then I realized that he probably didn't serve his country as we Veterans did and so the disrespect comes through, same for the other people who work there....here's a tip, if you feel dissatisfied with your job, then by all means MOVE aside and let someone else have your job, SIMPLE. P.S. please change your attitudes or get another job you will be happy at.

It can take a while to get an appointment. The building is generally clean inside and the staff are helpful. Appointments are usually on time and check in is fairly smooth.

Excellent staff who take care of fellow veterans. Yes, the wait times may be increasing, but this is an administrative issue and not reflective of the personnel employed here. It's gratifying to know we have this level of care at home.

Very over worked and not enough help. This is because the higher ups WILL NOT give them the help they need, it is a wonder the people who are there do not go insane.

I went in for blood work computers were down so they had to hand print labels. They did not allow me to stay to ensure they properly labeled everything with my name. It seemed VERY unprofessional. Time will tell if I end up redoing my blood work.

The Allentown VA clinic has been a shining star since I first sought treatment there about a year ago. A great staff who I truly feel are doing their very best to help the veterans. After secure messaging my primary care doctor for refills on my meds. and receiving no reply, (very unusual) I spent hours on the phone and I finally learned my fantastic doctor is not available for 2 months! The administration at the Allentown clinic took no action to notify the patients of this doctor of this problem and advise us of a alternate method of receiving treatment. Just another slap in in the face to the veterans who protected his/her family. On the bright side, if they make another "Article 99" movie, this person has the role of the administrator down pat.
