My gpa was kept on Covid unit and didn’t test positive for Covid and he was brought home on hospice and passed away last night and I’m still calling the hospital for his property he was brought home by a ambulance and he’s missing his chain with a cross a rose gold one ! This is so messed up I hope I get a call back and a miracle happens … how can you get robbed inside of a hospital ????

Came in with a fever of 104 and Pneumonia. Have been waiting in the waiting room for 8 hours and still haven’t been brought back to a room to be seen, people who got here 4 hours after me have been brought to a room. No one should have to wait this long to be seen.

These doctors on the shift tonight are so rude & didn’t even explain what my daughter was diagnosed with. Then when we asked for a blanket they said let me see if we have any & we also asked for Motrin for a headache and didn’t receive anything!!! Very RUDE & INCONSIDERATE!!!! When I was trying to explain what was going on with my daughter the nurse & the doctor looked at me like I had 3 heads! Not everything is Covid related!!! SO DISAPPOINTED. I can’t wait to find out the doctor name that was on duty tonight!

Over 3 hours waiting to get assistance . Asked the front desk if I gave up and go find another ER in a town close by I would still be charged for the visit , since the nurse saw me (3:30 hrs min ago to mesure my blood pressure ). On top of this I am pregnant , asked many time to be waiting lying down and never go a reply ! Have no words to express my frustration

Literally the slowest hospital on earth. Coming from New York, I assumed hospitals in CT would be faster, wrong. I took my daughter here twice, the first time, I waited no less 5 hours before she was called the see a doctor just for them to tell me there’s only one doctor in (like what?). The second time we waited 3 hours & just left at that point. Never again!

Now I know why I always stayed away from this place. Anesthesiologist didn’t listen to me about reactions and needed meds and after adverse reaction was discharged a few days later with no instructions, no follow up, no medical supplies for the tubes and urine coming out of my back, no appointment, NOT ONE PHONE CALL BY HOSPITAL OR SURGEON OFFICE TO FOLLOW UP. Discharge papers weren’t for me. Calls to figure out what follow up was went unanswered by Dr. It’s taken a year to re-visit this trauma. Go anywhere but Danbury.

Negative Stars is what Nuvance needs. The worst part is the patronizing way every voicemail I get says "we focus on personal care". I have been trying to schedule an echocardiogram for a month now. If i die from a heart attack, i fully blame the existence of Nuvance.

Everytime i come go to ER i wait 2 HOURS straight why is it called er if they take forever then the doctors do nothing first of all get more doctors and nurses and more rooms and so its faster and the doctors have to be real some docters are nicer then the other one And what if someone condition really bad like stroke and the doctors say u have nothing just a virus and get more sick and die they can get sued so im saying that just messed up they have to be real

Probably the worst HOSPITAL in the area... Nuvance only cares about money not patients or staff they the administration is out of touch with reality.. They are affiliated with other Hospital's and none are run professionally a few years ago had skin cancer and they wanted a breast doctor to operate.. When your car needs work you don't bring it Stew Leonard's this and Nuvance needs to be investigated..

I'm actually posting for my wife because she is so put off from this hospital/E.R. room. She went into the E.R. after being referred by a local Urgent care to determine the severity of her pneumonia they discovered there at the Urgent Care. First, there was a used bandaid and mask on the floor of the waiting room...Next, she waited over 13 hours until she was finally seen!! Her patient portal doesn't work, she hasn't seen any of her records that she has requested to be sent to her primary doctor here in Florida where we live, and she hasn't received any follow-up calls or responses to her emails asking for help and her records... We DO NOT recommend this place at all!!! Stay away!!!

I would like to say first is that I appreciated the hospitality of the security guard and the woman checking me in. Extremely understanding and empathetic, especially since I was having an extreme allergic reaction. I was disappointed since I'm still a young woman, that I couldn't have someone in the room with me, but I completely understood due to the COVID-19 guidelines. When they sent me to the back after getting my diagnosis, the PA was a well-educated woman, and helped me with what I needed. The only problem was the nurse. I forgot her name since I was so out of it, but all I can remember is that she was extremely rude. I kindly asked for a doctor's note since my leg was so swollen and I could barely walk on it, and she first said "I don't think that's an applicable reason for you to miss class," then I lifted up my pants to show her, and she said, "I didn't realize it was that bad." After she injected me with a shot, it almost knocked me out, I felt so nauseous, my face was pale and I needed a minute to regain consciousness, and she was shoving discharge papers in my face to sign, so she can rush me out. It was extremely unprofessional of her, when you can clearly tell in my face I was pale as a ghost. Besides her, I appreciated the help from everyone else, hence why I gave it 3 stars instead of one.

The cons: The wait took 3+ hours to have my mother seen, but I understand we are still in a pandemic. There’s a staff shortage. The pros: I want to personally thank the Security Guard, John. I over heard he did a double shift but he treated EVERY patient with respect and courtesy. He went out of his way to bring ice to an injured patient, brought a trash can for a child who was vomiting. He gave a wheelchair to my mother. John went above and beyond to help each patient. When my mother was seen by Dr. Blomstrom, he took excellent care of her. I know I called a lot, but he was very patient. I am grateful to the entire staff that took care of my mom. Please don’t stop your courteous and positive demeanor. Exceptional team. God bless you all. ?

So far 5 1/2 hours waiting. Still haven't been seen for abdominal pain. Staff seem unphased. Can't terribly blame them. This is an issue that needs to be addressed by management and the board. They are failing people terribly. I'll follow up with how the care actually is if I ever receive it.

This place is the worse to care for elders . The nurses and CNA are so inconsiderate they shouldn’t even be working there if they have no patience or love for the older people. They treat them like animals. And as far as all the lab work and testing we never get answers from any other doctors all they do is feed the patients medicines and medicines and medicines and they get the patients worse than they were when they arrived. I highly recommend not to send your elderly parents to this place all they do is they’re killing them slowly and making them suffer and they are so very inconsiderate. I tried reaching out to the Board of Directors the doctors the nurse managers the managers on the floor nobody ever seems to return your calls

Insensitive, impatient doctors! I was experiencing excruciating abdomen pain and had to call 911. The first responders were really empathetic and prompt. They immediately injected me with morphine and took me to Danbury hospital. By the time we reached, my pain had somewhat subsided and I was made to wait in the emergency room for 3 hours before any doctor would see me! When the doctor came to finally see me, he kept getting phone calls. He would step out to take the calls and come back only to lose his train of thought and ask - "so what were you saying". But he evidently didn't listen to a word I said and diagnosed me with UTI and put me on antibiotics. I kept trying to explain that my symptoms had nothing to do with UTI whatsoever and that I believed we should get an ultrasound done. BUT according to him, "ultrasound wasn't necessary". I went with my gut feeling and scheduled for an ultrasound at another hospital. I was diagnosed with OVARIAN RUPTURE and was told I NEVER had UTI!!! Because I was on periods when my urine sample was taken at Danbury hospital, the analysis done might have shown signs of UTI due to hormone changes in the body, which any other proficient doctor would have realized! The nurses and doctors at the second hospital were shocked that Danbury doctors never did an ultrasound to investigate the matter! I'm really frustrated with doctors not wanting to listen to their patients and wanting to diagnose with literally anything under the sun just because that's easier to treat! And today I see I'm billed $4000 for a wrong diagnosis and wrong treatment. Had I not gotten an ultrasound done on my own, I would have never realized that I had an ovarian rupture.

The Emergency Department is overflowing with patients and the wait time can be very long. This is a common problem in inner cities. Many people in Danbury do not have a primary care physician or health insurance so they come to the Emergency Department for non-Emergency care. Law requires that they be seen. It's not the hospital's fault, but it is a problem.

5-6 hour wait time to be seen in the ER. This is crazy how they don’t care. People in the waiting room were bleeding from their wounds and broken hands/ arms. Bloood on floor and they still weren’t being seen. Stabbing wounds and having to wait 5 hours ? That’s horrible coming from a emergency room. Bathrooms were disgusting. The receptionist told me “if I wanted to be seen tonight to go to another hospital.” After I’ve been waiting in pain for several hours. I have a high risk pregnancy and no one saw me for 5 plus hours. I just ended up leaving. If you want to die this is the place to go. Not sure why no one is taking charge of the ER room and fixing the OBVIOUS ISSUES.

I change my review to one star. This place needs to be shut down. 7 hour wait time. Fainted twice in the waiting room waking up to staff off to one corner talking amongst themselves STARING AT ME and not helping. Skin and eyes were yellow and was in pain. Was sent home and told, "they ran a bunch of tests back in December, no need to test for anything here." And then said I must be a drug seeker. After they gave me meds for pain. And given I never even mentioned wanting meds for pain. I however did ask for nausea meds to take home which they refused. Now I'm stuck home in pain, not able to be treated.

Awful service, long wait in the er, went there in and out for almost a month with horrible stomach pains. After waiting hours to see a Dr, the Dr came in once and said he has no idea what's wrong with me. Then 3 hrs of sitting in the er room came back in and said "oh you are still here!?" Danbury hospital is the absolute worst and they triple charge for care you never received.

I brought my two year old into the ER at Danbury hospital because he was having difficulty breathing in the middle of the night. We were taken back immediately and everyone was so thorough. He had medication administered within 20 minutes of arriving and was monitored very closely afterwards. Very happy with how he was cared for in a scary situation.

An absolutely disgusting, pathetic hospital. 4 hours of waiting. Filthy bathrooms. My girlfriends face is half swollen because of an infected tooth, and they say just to take pain killers and antibiotics, even though they're the only hospital in the area with an oral surgeon on call. It's just pathetic laziness from the beuroctatic sell you drugs industry. Never come here. Just go to an urgent care.

Danbury Hospital is the worst. I will never go there again. They treated me horrible, I went back from an original visit and they ignored all the adverse side effects from a drug they gave me. They wouldn’t allow my healthcare proxy in my room. Denied access to my attorney. They said my problems were gone psychological that I didn’t know what I was talking about. Even though I spoke directly with the drug company and brought evidence. They failed to exam me. They didn’t clean a wound I had. They just wrapped it. I spoke with an attorney and they violated my civil rights. I pray that no one experiences what I did.

Waited for 4 hours to be seen with still no idea when they would see me in excruciating pain, and have been given the run around at other places in this practice for 1.5 years for the same condition. Meanwhile an ambulance patient waited with everyone else in the ER for HOURS, which literally makes no sense. And another patient lying on the floor in pain keeled over and we had to call the main number to have someone help him…

Danbury hospital is a good hospital, I took residents there for appointments from village crest nursing home , also Sheraton home care service, and their treatment were very good, my daughter was there to deliver baby and they treat her very good, very very good. It’s a horrible place, they did a malpractice on my dad which caused him to have a seizure and heart attack and ultimately putting him in a coma for three weeks before he died. I went having trouble breathing and was out of the ER less then 15 mins without any type of medication because it was ‘allergies’. I have so many different stories of them misdiagnosing me and causing worse thing. Better off going to any other hospital

Had a back surgery here with a 1 night stay. They told me to be at the surgical center at 1:30. At 6:00 I was finally entering the OR after sitting in various different areas for 4 1/2 hours. The nurses for the overnight were terrible. Every time a nurse entered my room their phone immediately went off because someone hit the call button. They would walk in, phone would beep, and they would say "I'll be right there". One nurse came in the room and asked me what time my surgery going to be. She had no idea that i had already had surgery. Then they started talking about checking me out to go home. 4 hours later i told them to check me out or I'll just walk out. That was the only time the entire stay i saw a nurse for more than a minute. When i finally was able to get up i took a look at the paper that was hanging from the door that i couldn't read from the bed. It was an hourly check in sheet and every single hour was checked. They must have just filled it in all at once because there is no way a nurse stopped by once an hour.

Brought my husband in to er for a bad covid cough sat april 10th per PCP. My husband was in pain and possiblly has pneumonia. We regret every moment. There for 2 hours to be given a speech on covid symptoms by PA Lynn Baylis and then be told "have to run its course". i said "arent you going to listen to his chest"? she said i like to talk first. end result no xray because she feels like it would show covid pneumonia and treatment is the same and we left with a pill a size of a pea for a cough. the dr who spoke to the check in never showed up at discharge like he said he would. All because oxygen level was good. so basically if you have covid in order to be helped you have to be dying from lack of oxygen. Husband still not any better, in fact he's worse and now virtual follow up with PCP who wont even see him in person. I know its stressful time for everyone. I give people breaks as long as you do your job and not brush us off. These two incompetent people in ER did nothing but brush us off. Starting to feel like some discrimination of some sort may have played a role or they just had no time for us. Sad to say

I agree with reviewers who mentioned the need to micromanage your own care or that of a loved one in this hospital. Never trust that you or someone you care about can be left here without keeping up with everything the staff is doing or not doing. WATCH EVERYTHING AND ASK QUESTIONS. Of course people are only in this environment if they are not feeling well so it's a shame that it is essential for you to be constantly alert and conscious of anything that happens. While a patient here for four days (never be there over a weekend if you can at all prevent it), I was not given medication I take each day. This happened during two hospitalizations. I was told to have someone come and bring me the medication. I also was given a sales pitch for Walgreens pharmacy and this happened twice. You would think if the in-house pharmacy didn't have my medication--they might have tried the Walgreens right there so I wouldn't go without. Being without this particular prescription could have resulted in seizures never mind the intense discomfort I experienced without it. Once discharged, Walgreens in Danbury Hospital called me again urging me to switch my prescriptions over to them and become a Walgreens customer. Apparently an experience with a life threatening illness is reason to start a marketing campaign with a patient. Completely inappropriate and so tone deaf NUVANCE. I have had so many horrific experiences at this hospital that there is not enough room. What I would like is to be treated like a human being in need of care and help--- not like a customer. It is also illegal, highly unprofessional and downright disrespectful to patients to try to impress people by falsely upgrading staff to a new position they don't have. I had an Emergency Room doctor tell me "the doctor will be down from the floor to speak to you." The "doctor" was a Physician Assistant and the ED doctor knew that. In New Milford there is one floor for patients and no doctors at all. When I asked about this I was told "there is always a doctor in the Emergency Room." Many times during the pandemic I was told "a nurse will be out to take you temperature." There were no nurses--they were all Medical Assistants. PLEASE show some professionalism and basic respect and do not lie to patients about the educational level of staff they will be seeing. It speaks volumes about NUVANCE and its lack of ethics.

Any institution that has Susan Aloi as an Administrator Officer is doing a disservice to physicians, staff, and patients. No wonder some of the patient satisfaction comments are horrific She did not build anything at NYP-Cornell as her profile proclaims. Rather she callously and without guilt nor remorse tore apart practices destroying them as well as the well being of patients . She cut back on staff, cut salaries, for repositioning. Simply put, she is a Restructuring Officer

Staff was nice and friendly but I showed up bleeding obviously needing stitches and it took hours to get the stitches needed. Most of the time I was sitting in my room waiting while my wound continued to bleed. They made me pay my co pay fast but getting treatment took longer than it needed to be. The staff and doctors were friendly which is great. Though when I’m bleeding I would rather not make small talk. Kind of insane.

The only reason they have 1 star from me is because the staff are nice . The emergency room sucks . Short staffed had me waiting almost 5 hours. In that time all I got was my vitals checked. I ended up leaving and having to go somewhere else . Went there with pain and left with a wound more irritated and more painful. Maybe the actual hospital is good but “emergency” room is wayyyyy too slow .

Of the three times I was in the behavioral unit and the one time I went for emergency sutures, none of them were anywhere near satisfactory experiences. The first time I went, I was barely 13. I was sent to the behavioral unit, most likely the worst place in the hospital. I was placed in a small white room with a chair and a bed, which was stained. The 200lb security guard threatened to sedate me because I was crying and annoying him. 8 hours after I got to the hospital, I was told that a doctor couldn’t meet with me and I had to stay until tomorrow. (I arrived at 1pm, it’s not like it was a bad time). Never once did they consider moving me to a room where I, barely 13 years old, would feel more safe. The next morning, a doctor met with me THROUGH A VIDEO CALL. I left the next morning deeply traumatized and unable to sleep on my own bedsheets for months because they reminded me of the hospital bed. The second time, it took around 9 hours for anybody to meet with me (this time made a little more sense because it was midnight when I got there), I was 14 at this time. Once again I was talked to for very little time (30 or so minutes) before being notified I would be transferred to a different hospital. The third time I was also 14. This time, I was told that I didn’t have to stay in the psych ward room because I already had deep trauma. However, I was later still forced into one. A nurse didn’t care a bit when I was shaking from pure terror, she said I was acting immature and irrational. The only good thing was that because of the textophobia I developed towards hospital gowns (literally caused by my past two hospital stays), I didn’t have to wear one of the gowns. There was a woman who came in shortly after me screaming and kicking. She screamed and snored for maybe an hour or two. I was lower on the priority list than her, even though I came in before her and I was just 14, which is really insane. My mother had to force the staff to meet with me so I didn’t have to wait overnight, which I luckily didn’t have to do. Did I mention that over these three stays, there was no entertainment? None at all? There were TVs in some rooms, but there is only one remote that I never even knew existed because nobody mentioned it to me. The nurses and guards told me to just “wait it out”. For 8+ hours. One stay I was lucky enough to bring a book, but I obviously finished it pretty quickly. I resorted to counting in my head to pass the time. My one other stay was for emergency sutures. I came into the emergency room bleeding from my arm and yet I was told to wait for maybe 30 minutes - even though I couldn’t even move two of my fingers (which are still damaged to this day, I believe I nicked a nerve). When I was finally looked at and told I needed sutures, I was moved to another room and forced to wait a couple hours for a doctor to come in. During that time a security guard was supposed to monitor me, but he left halfway through because his shift was up. Nobody else came to watch me. Getting the sutures was ok, thankfully. This was most likely my best experience, but that isn’t saying much. Now I am going to be 16 in March, and my stays here still haunt me. I am going to a therapist to deal with the trauma that this hospital has caused me. I have developed Textophobia and cry at the touch of a hospital gown. Ambulances give me terrible feelings, I don’t know how long it will take before I can ever go inside one again - which is problematic if I ever get hurt and need transportation. I disassociate very often, especially late at night, because of the sleepless nights I have had to endure here. I wouldn’t send my worst enemy here, even for a minute. I could go on forever about how this hell-stricken place has ruined my life - nobody deserves this kind of experience. No matter what is going on, please, I beg of you, don’t go to Danbury Hospital. What these “doctors” did to me when I was a struggling 13-14 year-old was abhorrent, sadistic, and cruel. I hope that by telling this story, even just one person can be spared from this hell.

In the middle of the pandemic even after we asked for assistance because my father lost his job, they sent all his bills to collection costing us our house, I just don’t understand how can an institution be so heartless

One of the worst hospitals in CT! I had 3 experiences, in all 3 they were unprofessional. In one they were so bad that I had to have my son transfered to another hospital. Tonight they retaliated by refusing to provide ER care for a broken leg. You decide....

Now I know this review is a long time coming but even though I don’t always feel satisfied with Danbury hospital I have to give them five stars because they literally saved my life in March of 2019! I was rushed there by ambulance when I had a stomach blockage and the surgical team operated twice. I am forever grateful to them for that. One thing I didn’t like about the ER, however, was when I showed up a few months later with an excruciating bruise on my foot the doctors didn’t want to give me anything more than a Tylenol! That wasn’t sufficient to take away the pain which lasted a few days after that. Overall, I do recommend this hospital but if you’re having elective surgery I personally think the hospitals in Manhattan are still probably better.

I had neck surgery yesterday with Dr. Joshua Marcus, a neurosurgeon. I am grateful for his expertise, and I am also happy to say that the staff at Danbury Hospital has made my visit a pleasant and stress-free experience. Thank you:)

I regret having been here. Multiple mistakes in my care by ER doctors. I had gallstones and was treated like I was a drunk and I don't drink but apparently the symptoms of high liver enzimes is something that happens for both conditions. I also went there for significant pain in my back and this was a fall post surgery and the hospital thought I went there for pain meds and I actually had fractured my back. No x-rays were done. I would like to compliment the front desk! I would like to compliment Nurse Tee! I would like to compliment the lovely lady that loves to look after patience and provides endearing wheel chair rides to your car when you are discharged. I would like to compliment the security guards! They are working so hard and were quite lovely! If you have an emergency, I recommend you have someone with you at all times. Whenever there is a witness, the care is exceptional. Unforgivable to the doctor that treated me as a drunk when I passed gallstones. I swear that pain was similar to childbirth and that doctor is evil.

The er is the absolute worst they are mean they are always going to "be right back"They severely misdiagnosed my blood work and didn't care It's such a long story but they almost sent me home and then cardiology got involved and I ended up staying two days and lots of after care. The er nurses even made a joke about me because they thought I was sleeping a horrible experience I'll drive elsewhere on I ever need an emergency room

One month ago my father was hospitalized for heart failure. The phone in his room did not work.. He was not given food or water for 10 hours. We could not visit because of covid 19. Patients are not safe in Danbury Hospital without the family overseeing their care.

I've tried to write this all out but I dont care. Very bad hospital. My mom was treated terribly whenever she had to go. I was treated terribly in their behavioral center everytime I went and everyone made me feel uncomfortable or more stressed. Everytime I told them something as clear as possible they would take it the other way. My dad has had to argue with many nurses before to get my mother help when she has crohns disease. Would very much recommend another place in Connecticut to go to a hospital for your nedds.
