All About Kids Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics - Danbury

I have been in All About kids for years now… I love the dedication and respectfulness of each employee! But.. back in November I was seen by Dr.Patil in the Danbury office and did not have a good experience. She needed to take out 2 cavities on the right side of my mouth. Due to the size and depth of them she said that I would need anesthesia, which I was fine with. When the procedure started she gave me 1 shot and waited a while for the anesthesia to work, but it didn’t, so she gave me the second shot, which did not have any effect either, on the third shot the seringue ‘exploded’ and fell on the floor, so she tried again and as the was putting the needle in my gums, she needle stayed and the seringue ‘exploded’ again, but this time inside my mouth. She apologized and cleaned up and tried once again… and the anesthesia did not work again, so she decided to wait until it does because she had gave me 3 shots. Moral of the story, I had taken 4 shots in total to treat 2 cavities, I was in pain and left the office not feeling one side of my mouth. Due to a mouth sore that I had on the left side she did not treat that side and scheduled me to come again another day… so I called and asked to switch doctors because I was no longer comfortable with her, they switched me. Today I went to treat my left side, and the other doctor apologized and said that there was nothing but healthy teeth on that side, and she wouldn’t do a procedure on a healthy tooth… my question is, if she scheduled me to get that side treated, would she do something on my healthy teeth?

I brought both of my kids here for a cleaning and exam and everyone was super professional, really kind, very efficient but also thorough. It was a wonderful experience!

Does not care about customers/patients. Does not callback or answer our calls and online pre-appointment system says they'll call to confirm and they do not. Just horrible customer service.

I really want to love this place. I really do. The office is decorated with cute murals and characters and the staff is mostly helpful. However, they only take appointments via their website’s chat feature which you would need to wait for a call back anyway and it can take weeks. I’ve been trying to reschedule an appointment for hours with no call back. For a dentist, they are just really impersonable. Also, after confirming you have arrived via the chat feature and wait in your car, after you’re allowed in, you still have to wait another 20 minutes in the lobby to be seen. You will be asked to sign waiver and privacy forms via an electronic signature through a glass window without even being able to read what you’re signing. The actual Dentist will show up for 5 minutes after the Dental Assistant has done all the work. I feel like they are trying, but I prefer a place that’s professional and personable. If they would answer their phones and answer questions, I feel like my rating would improve. I’m just not a fan.

I took my 2 children, (7 and 9), to see Dr. Shah for their check-ups January 2021. The reception staff handled the COVID procedures very well and I was reassured for my family's heath. Everything was organized over the phone, so all we had to do was get checked-in. We were quickly moved to the examining room. Dr. Shah examined my children efficiently and professionally, all the while engaging with them in a humorous way to make sure they were comfortable. She made sure that my children knew how to brush and floss correctly, and took the time to have them demonstrate for her. Unfortunately, my children had cavities and Dr. Shah took the time to show me the problem areas and discuss what needed to be done, both for immediate treatment and further prevention. My children left the office better informed with respect to their dental health and armed with a determination to take good care of their teeth.

I have been bringing my 5 year old daughter here for a couple of years now. At first it was tolerable. But now, it is safe to say that the staff and doctors are very hasty. They are trying to get you in and out as soon as possible. Also, Dr. Shah is not very professional. The hygienist was nice and friendly. But as soon as Dr. Shah walks in the room my daughter gets tense and does not like her cold and unwelcoming attitude. She starts by putting the mirror in her mouth to check and count her teeth. My daughter gets really irritable quickly if something is uncomfortable for her. My daughter starts to cry and the first thing the doctor says is, “I didn’t even do anything to hurt her or cause her pain. I don’t know why she’s trying to make herself throw up.” Insinuating that my daughter is faking it. At that point I try to calm my daughter and my daughter is telling me that she needs to pee and is screaming this out loud. Dr. Shah literally said “NO! She can’t leave this room without me checking her teeth.” The Dr. stands up and literally blocks my daughter from leaving the room and opens her mouth while she’s standing up to finish the checkup. She then lets her use the bathroom. We come back and the hygienist says to us, “I’m sorry, but the Dr. says she can’t have a toy from the toy chest because she didn’t do a good job today. Maybe next time.” I’m sorry but this is highly unprofessional and I will not stand for this. We will be moving to the Tooth Fairy instead. Hopefully Dr. Shah changes her attitude and shows more compassion towards her younger clients.

Didn’t let me come to complete my crown causing my tooth to crack. Very friendly staff but not very professional and lately very poor communication. Wouldn’t recommend to other kids/ children.

I came to All about Kids to have a second opinion because my son used to go to another " pediatric dentist" in Danbury which basically told me that there wasn't anything that could be done to my 18 months old son's front tooth ( he had a cavity). In reality, they didn't want to deal with all the work and crying! So I scheduled an appointment at All About kids to have a second opinion as I mentioned and...boy....I felt welcomed by them! Staff took care of my son with so much love and patience. I am beyond amazed by their service and professionalism!

This dentist is true to the name and all about kids! I took the 3 of mine there this week. 14 yr old, 7 yr old and 4 yr old. Both 14 and 4 needed just a cleaning, but the 7 yr old needed 2 teeth pulled. I was honestly worried since the 7 yr old is my timid child, but she had no issues and didn’t feel a thing...she swore the teeth fell out!! My 4 yr old threw down in a screaming fit and refused to open her mouth out of fear, but they sat with her for a good 20 minutes just patiently trying to calm her and then when they got started they had her giggling. They’re truly so good with kids and so reassuring to the parents. I would go there myself if they’d let me lol.

Usually a patient of the Derby office which is Great & the ladies are great, patient & friendly my kids love it. My son had alil emergency so we had to go to the Danbury office an wow the lobby was Awesome made me feel like a kid again lol. The staff was nice, understanding & friendly didn't have to wait to long for being a walkin. Orthodontist is always Great.

Our visit was absolutely great. We were greeted with a smile from receptionist, after short waiting, very nice, polite and welcoming dental hygienist escorted us to the treatment area, where our daughter was treated with outmost attention. All her questions were answered, ours too. Our girl felt relaxed and happy. Doctor assessment was very pleasant as well. We received all needed information, Doctor was absolutely great. We hope to see her at each of our future visits. Great with children, patient, eye contact, perfect manners. Fabio was fabulous. Great manners. Also worth noting, is interior of the office. Painting of the walls are young children oriented, games in the waiting room are up to date. Wonderful visit overall!

I would have given All About Kids 5 stars, but was shocked and disappointed to see that it has employees writing reviews for the business, which is unethical and deceptive. All About Kids should stand on it's own merit as it is a quality provider. Not a good sign when you have employees write reviews. I expected more from a Military Veteran.

My wife awarded me the task of taking our 5 year old daughter to a new pediatric dentist in Danbury last week. Back story: my daughter is petrified of the dentist and cried the entire ride to the office. Upon walking in, we were very impressed with the fun ocean themed decor, which instantly made my daughter happy and lightened her mood. We were greeted with friendly faces, especially by our doctor (Dr Megha Shah). After being taken back to our room, my daughter insisted on sitting on my lap during the whole visit. This is when Dr Shah took over. She immediately comforted my daughter and made her feel safe and at ease, as if a parent would their own child when feeling scared and nervous. She was very thorough, and explained in detail in a way a 5 year old would understand, what exactly she was doing at each moment. By the end of the visit, my daughter was smiling and laughing and felt comfortable and confident and was excited to come back for her next visit. As someone who works in the medical industry, I’ve never been so impressed with a doctor’s bedside manner and ability to ease a tense situation. We will certainly be coming back with our 3 year old daughter as well, and will always be requesting Dr Shah.

been bringing my step kids here since they opened and always had a great experience, doctors and assistant and hygienists always made my kids feel safe and comfortable, but recently the last few times we went in and saw the same doctor (dr.Shawh) its been very strange and uncomfortable. the first time we met her i remember being very uncomfortable with the way she was speaking to my stepson and he mentioned he was annoyed by her messing up his hair (very different but i just laughed it off even tho it was strange) and the last time we went the hygienist was doing the cleaning the same doctor from the last time (dr. shawh) came in and stood at the door on her phone and then the gentleman from the front desk came in after her to ask her a question about another patient and she didnt even step out, instead she kept talking to him about another patient all in the same room my step child was getting their teeth cleaned. she finished her back and fourth conversation with the man from the front desk and then walked out of the room while talking on the phone in the hallway, when she finally came in to see my stepkids she seemed annoyed. my neighbor had a bad experience with this same doctor and requested not to be seen by that doctor again. I will do the same from now on because i dont want to switch dentist office because prior to the last few times we always had great experiences with doctors and the staff.

My girls had appointments first thing today. I call them right st 8:30 to make them aware I won’t be bringing my girls because they are running fever. The receptionist who answered my call was so unprofessional the first thing that came out her mouth was you know there is a change you will get charge for canceling last min, now I work for a doctors office for over 10yrs and was a receptionist and not once have I ever spoken or show disconcerted to a patient. But whoever answered my call ONLY care to tell me I mite get charge. I truly do get the hold cancel appointment last min, but if I’m telling you my girls are running fever I mean did she expect for me to bring them to there office with fever?! I always keep my appointments never a no show and when I do call all I get is mouth and unprofessionalism. Now what bothers me out of all is that she hung up the phone without asking is there anything else I could help you with? Is the proper way to try to end a phone call but she didn’t even bother. Now I have call several time after she hung up and they refuse to answer my call. I’m in such of disbelief now it makes me wonder if I really want to keep bringing my girls to this office. Now I just call again and spoke to supposedly a supervisor and his gonna tell me he can’t reschedule my girls appointment to a sat because his system won’t allow it! That is a complete bs then he tells me they are putting my girls on a cancellation list I said ok requesting they call me on a Sat, then his gonna tell me because my youngest is only 2 they don’t seem 2yr olds on sat! Wth difference does it make, I told him that’s bs as all of my girls appointments always been on a sat, his gonna tell me policy just change when today? Really! I’m so done with this office and I hope you guys as well. I guess my girls or any kids can’t get sick and call last min to cancel cause this this the bs your gonna get. What a disappointment of of a receptionist and supervisor!! If this is the way you handle a last min cancellation 6month check up I could just imagine if you need to cancel a last min procedure. SUCH A POOR SERVICE. You get a 0 rating from me. I’m done with this office!!!!!!!

We had an EXCELLENT visit to All About Kids Dentistry this morning. It was our second visit there with our almost-2-year-old; he was so relaxed and at ease with both the hygienist, Rose, and the dentist. Would not recommend Dr. Shiva to anyone. This was my daughter's first time visiting the dentist. Dr. Shiva didn't introduce herself, had no patience or compassion for my scared 3 year old. She acted annoyed within seconds of her not cooperating, even saying that another baby was waiting so she had to hurry up. Our hygienist was very sweet though.

It’s such a cute place for kids ? I took both my 16 month old and 6 year old at the same time. The office is so kid friendly that my daughter was thoroughly entertained while waiting. My 6 year old just played Pac-Man on one of their game machines. Clean office and friendly staff. We loved it.

We came to this office for a second opinion. Originally we went to the Toothfairy in Ridgefield and were told my 4 y/o would need to be sedated in a procedure at the hospital because capping a tooth would be too traumatic for him. We then tried to schedule the procedure and the facility was unresponsive. From the moment we stepped into All About Kids, my son was mesmerized. Dr. Shaw and her assistants took the time to build repoire with him and made the experience fun from start to finish. He was able to have all cavities tended to and a cap placed in with out any fear. He never needed to be sedated. He just needed to build trust. I am so thankful for this practice and the amazing staff.

I have three kids coming to All About Kids. My children and I love going in there. Staff and drs are very kids friendly. I wish I had this type of treatment when I was a kid. Thank you guys

This was the first pleasant dentistry experience I've ever had in my life and I'm so glad that I could give it to my child. There's an overhead tv screen so my little one can pick out her own movie or show (a greatful distraction). And the staff, understand the needs and the fears of children. They work hard and care enough to make fears dissipate so my child can have a great experience. I'm grateful for the care and consideration of the staff. My only hope is that they open more offices around Connecticut and that I can get my little one to leave the office because it's so fun being there, even for that, I'm grateful! I would give a thousand stars but I guess 5 will have to do.

My kids absolutely love coming here. ALL of the staff is professional and caring. They make it very comfortable for even the most nervous of kids. My kids have never hesitated to go to the dentist since we have been coming to All About Kids Dentistry. Not to mention... the place itself is so cute and bright and fun!

All my kids go there and they love it.It's a very busy office but, you don't feel like they are rushing you. I will say I was very upset when they tried to cancel my appointment because they didn't get a confirmation .I've never missed any appointments and I have more than one kid that goes there so, for them to do that, It was a slap in the face . I understand it's a policy they have but, in my opinion, it was a little ridiculous.

We took our kid there for a check up, the dentist rushed us and said that he needed two fillings, even though his mom checks his teeth almost every day and never seen cavities, they said he needed two fillings and we need to start right away. They took us by surprise and we were trusting and got his tooth filled. I don't think neither of the fillings were necessary and I don't feel comfortable going back to that dentist again

What a great experience my children had coming to see the dentist at All About Kids. The staff in the front desk, hygienist, and the doctors are lovely and amazing. They took care of my two little ones today and the word is amazing. They take time with my little ones and made them comfortable. The dentist apparently is great and the kids like them but the people that run the office, on the other hand, are horrible. They get you to sign a form that states that they will charge your insurance and what ever isn't covered you will get billed for. Then they proceed to charge you for the entire bill personally without even contacting your insurance company even though they accept them. Then you go home and tell your husband about it who follows up with a few phone calls and the offices don't care to call you back because they already have your money... Do yourselves a favor and go somewhere else.

Sorry this is so long but it’s very important that I get this out! Just want to give all the parents out there a heads up about “All about kids” dental in Danbury. I started going there about 2 years ago when Shane was terrified of the dentist and they were amazing, he’s been great ever since. About 2 weeks ago I took him for a routine cleaning and they told me he needed X-rays. Then they told me he had 5 cavities and three were really bad and needed to be filled immediately, they even tried to get me to stay and do them that day. (Weird I know.) Anyways I left thinking how is this possible? He doesn’t eat candy or any junk, we brush and floss everyday. So before I let anyone drill in my sons mouth I took him to my dentist for a second opinion, who has taken care of my family for 30 years. She takes care of children and adults. I brought him in, she looked at him and saw nothing wrong but wanted to see the X-rays to see if there was anything in between the teeth that she couldn’t feel. After they gave them the run around about sending over the images (which right there was a sign) finally they got them and my dentist called me this am and told me there is NOTHING in his mouth that needs to be filled. She said the fact that they gave me no paperwork and didn’t even tell me what tooth it was and the way they were acting was extremely shady. So I called and asked to speak with a manager as soon as I gave them my name they started acting weird and kept telling me she wasn’t there today even when the person before said she was at lunch and should be back soon. Finally after calling back a few times I finally got smart and wouldn’t tell them my name and what do you know? She picked right up!! I explained what happened and asked her for an explanation as to why this happened. She was nasty and told me I called them too much today and was “being aggressive” (ya think? You were just about to drill in my 4 year olds mouth to take advantage of my insurance??!!) she kept saying they never spoke with my dentist and that she must have not known what she was talking about! When I spoke with my dentist she said she kept asking them where the cavities were because she wasn’t seeing anything and they just kept changing the subject and wouldn’t tell her. She also kept yelling at me saying “you’re not a dentist”! and she was calling her attorney if I try and call back again??!! And hung up on me! These are the most unprofessional people I’ve ever spoken with! I feel bad for all the people that have been taken advantage of by them especially because its children! So sad! Just beware and always get a second opinion! Especially when it’s your child! Don’t let the decor and sweet hygienists fool you!

I had a few problems with one visit, however the staff and Dr. Strazza reached out to me quickly and corrected the problems I had. My son just had a appointment to fill cavities. My son was scared however the hygienist and the dentist were great with him. They made him feel at ease and the appointment went well. This visit went smoothly and I would visit the office again!
