10/10 recommend. Today was my first time visiting. I needed a wisdom tooth pulled asap. They squeezed me in same day that I called needing to make an appointment. As a new client(paperwork), xray/scan, getting checked, numbed, tooth pulled, scheduled my next appointment and checked out... altogether took LESS THAN AN HOUR. They are SO pleasant, thorough, supportive(I was nervous as most people are at the dentist) Autumn held my hand,Carrie talked me through everything and made me feel at home, Dr. Carpenter is down to earth, gentle, honest, and the front desk ladies Gail and Virginia are so personable, such lovely gals. I don't think I'll ever be nervous again to go to the dentist! THIS PLACE, is where you wanna go

Carpenter Dental is top notch! As soon as I walked threw the doors, I was greeted by a very friendly staff. I was very anxious, as it was my first time going to their office. They assured me that everything was going to be fine and they were exactly right. They made me feel comfortable and made sure I was doing good throughout the entire appointment. The doctor's came and checked on me throughout my appointment to continue to make sure I was comfortable. The doctor's and the whole staff were so professional and answered all my questions. I knew that Carpenter Dental was the best choice I could have made to have my teeth worked on.

I am travelling the US and needed emergency help for a cracked filling and crown that came off. After a few calls I reached Carpenter Dental to make a same day appointment. From the moment i arrived everyone was so pleasant, kind and helpful. Everything was perfect-- they fixed both problems comfortably (no pain!) in just over an hour. I highly recommend them.

I do not typically post a bad review but I feel everyone should know our experience. After multiple attempts to get my entire family to do unnecessary crowns fillings fluoride treatments etc. we have switched to a honest dentist that is not out to get every penny for unnecessary dental work! Carpenter dental will push every boundary to do any dental work they can possibly get away with! My wife was told she needed four crowns thousands of dollars worth of dental work. After going to our new dentist like we suspected her teeth are perfect! Beware!

When I get compliments about my smile I wish people knew how sensitive and troublesome my teeth/gums are, and how much I dread “going to the dentist”! Upon moving to the Black Hills, the team at Carpender Dental has always made sure I have everything I need for a successful appointment. They genuinely understand my ridiculous anxiety (they luckily never took my past experiences personal) and they make sure I am completely comfortable every single time. It is a huge relief that the staff knows my routine and always remember my preferences! I should also mention I’ve had Chad Carpender transform an awful chip on my front tooth, fill cavities, graft a handful of spots for gum recession, and more. I’ve always been pleased with the results and genuinely grateful for everything he has done. I recently brought my 15 month old in for his 1st appointment. They made it fun and I am excited for my son to associate “going to the dentist” as a positive experience, as it really is something we should all look forward to!

I had come to town for sight seeing and had cracked a tooth in half eating popcorn one night. I called several dentists looking for someone willing to get in this urgent need to extract the tooth, but most of them wanted to charge for a visit then refer me to an oral surgeon. I have no insurance, so two emergency visits and one more expensive than the other was not only a waste of time and money, but also more painful for me. Dr. Carpenter's office got me in within an hour of my call, helped me get set up for Care Credit to make payments on the visit, and assured me it would be taken care of. The staff was incredibly kind and courteous. The dentist was equally kind and he did an amazing job, was so considerate, I wished I could bring him back to Wisconsin with us for our regular family dentist. I couldn't believe how thoughtful and considerate everyone was. It made a very anxious situation so much better. I feel beyond blessed to have found this dentist and that they put the care and needs of their patients, even those from out of town, above all else! We discovered a rare gem in this mining town!

I recently made the decision to try The Invisalign treatment to correct some bite issues I was having. Dr. Post and Shelby were very thorough (and patient) with me to help get me started. I had a lot of questions but I feel they were all answered to my satisfaction. The staff is always professional and friendly whenever I come in. Kudos Dr. Post!

Carpenter Dental has been so good to my family, especially my girls. I took my oldest to Black Hills Pediatric Dentistry and they wanted to put her under to fill her cavities. This didn't sit right with me. I called Carpenter Dental and the dentist was so kind and said he would be happy to take a look and fill the cavity without putting my daughter out. This put me at ease. My girls love their checkups at the dentist. Crystal makes sure they leave with a smile on their face and prizes in hand. Great service and caring employees.

While i was not a patient the staff was awesome, place was very clean and there were from what i saw little wait times. I would recommend this dentist.

Amazing patient-centered people!! We're from out of town and on vacation from Nashville, TN, but Rapid City people... this is one of the finest, most caring dental offices I've ever seen! If you need a dentist, this is the place! The following is lengthy, but it demonstrates the quality patient-centered care I recieved! My family and myself had flown into the area to visit beautiful South Dakota for vacation. Unbeknownst to me, I had an old root canal that had become problematic, painful, and infected. I tried to wait until Monday, but the pain was too great and began too spread and it had started to swell. Not knowing what to do, and I had a heart valve replacement last year, I knew and infection in my mouth was not good—not too mention the pain. Oh, that pain! So, after not sleeping at all Friday night I began calling several Rapid City dentist office and leaving messages and calling emergency numbers. Dr. Carpenter was the ONLY dentist that returned my call and he did promptly, considering it was 9am on a Saturday!! Dr. Carpenter called me back and we discussed what was going and he asked to see me and he was going to call one of his assistants to meet us there. We drove into Rapid City from Wall, SD and met Dr. Carpenter and Kala at the office. They asked my family to come in and made them comfortable, which was an awesome gesture, and then took me back and got me examined. Being from out of town, on vacation, and they came in on an emergency basis, Dr. Carpenter and Kala, still gave me options considering my treatment and even consulted with my dentist back home (which I had earlier called). That was amazing! Thank you Dr. Carpenter and Kala, for taking time for an emergency case! The residents and visitors of Rapid City are lucky to have you!!! A part of me, and an back molar, are now a part of South Dakota forever! ? God Bless you and your staff!

Hands down the best dentist office I've ever been to. Dr. Carpenter went above and beyond for me! I needed an emergency dental procedure a week before my wedding and they went out if their way to make it happen. I can't say enough nice things about this place. They are so wonderful about checking in and I can really tell they care about their patients. The work they completed was a miracle. I strongly recommend!

I have only positive things to say about Dr. Carpenter and his staff. He has gone up and beyond, even outside of business hours. Great atmosphere while making one feel as comfortable as possible. Very reasonable and straight forward.

When we moved our family of seven to Rapid City in 2017, friends suggested that we go to Carpenter Dental. On our very first visit, we were welcomed with great hospitality and great service. Every time we go for a dental hygiene visit or for dental work, we are treated with the same warmth and genuine kindness that we received on our first visit. In addition to great hospitality (and coffee) the dental hygienists are experienced, gentle and take great pride in their work (a special shout-out to Lisa, whom I also have as my hygienist). Dr. Carpenter is excellent too and takes time to joyfully visit with each patient to get to know them personally and explain their dental situation in layman's terms. I cannot imagine a finer place for families to go for all their dental needs. Thank you to the Carpenter Dental team for your great service to my family and so many other families in the Rapid City area.

The entire staff at Carpenter Dental are amazing! They are friendly, professional and provide excellent care. I have high anxiety when it comes time to sit in the dentist chair. My anxiety has subsided because I know Dr. Thorsen and Betsy will take their time with any procedure; always making sure I am comfortable. I had a bike accident and damaged my front teeth. Dr. Post did a great job repairing them. They look great. The staff was so friendly and helpful. They have done some other work on my teeth, Dr. Post always tell you exactly what she is going to do. She does a great job and is very professional.

I’m from California and was here visiting family and came down with an excruciating toothache, after careful research I decided to go with Carpenter Dental and wow am I glad I did! They ended up getting me in the next day and I ended up needing a root canal. I have a pretty bad fear of needles and they made me so comfortable and made sure to verbalize everything they were doing. Dr. Post performed the procedure and Aubrey assisted and I felt SO at ease under their care. There were no surprises and it was a perfect experience. It was painless, surprisingly relaxing, and relieving. I haven’t had a toothache in weeks and I am so happy with how everything went. Also I felt very safe with the covid precautions put in place. The office was immaculate and everyone was wearing masks the whole time. I will absolutely be making this my go to dentist when I’m here in South Dakota! Thank you again to everyone over there, you all are amazing and I can’t thank Dr. Post and Aubrey enough for the relief they have provided!

My visit to Carpenter Dental could not have been better. From the moment that I entered the office, I felt like all of the attention was focused on me. From my initial inspection, through having my teeth cleaned, consultation, and finally a plan for my treatment, it felt like family. Betsy, Aubrey and Dr. Thompson made me comfortable with my treatment and thoroughly explained my many options for my dental health moving forward. I have never recommended a Dental Office before, but now I can thanks to the amazing staff at Carpenter.

I have had TMJ problems for years I have tried all different kinds of retainer form thick to thin to wearing them 24/7, tops at night or bottoms during the day. I went to Carpenter Dental and there’s no more making molds. They simply scanned my mouth and the retainer made from the scan fit like a glove not to thick not to thin no wires in them absolutely prefect would recommend to absolutely anyone and my jaw hasn’t hurt since! THANK YOU!

I wish i could give more than 5 stars. "The kickoff to a 4 day weekend starts with extreme dental pain." Carpenter Dental not only took a new patient on the spot but at the very last possible minute of the day. Carpenter Dental staff excels at "People" Service. I say this because i was never made to feel like a patient or customer, they made me feel comfortable and welcomed. This office closes at three and on the start of a 4 day weekend the staff stayed hours later than that to take care of my needs and never expressed anything other than concern for my comfort. Josh is excellent at relieving financial anxiety. If you are in need of dental services, look no further than Carpenter Dental. Dr. Carpenter spent a great deal of time speaking with me and talking about how my orthodontics (from another great dentist) were progressing. Talk about care. Most professional and well trained staff I've been to, I had a great experience. The building is appealing to the eye and very clean, and has a pretty simple layout. They are all kind and very curious people, I highly recommend this establishment to anyone, no matter the age.

Like many people I hate going to dentists. Had an in depth gum and teeth cleaning. The office itself is state-of-the-art and I loved being able to watch TV with headphones. Bailey is the one who did my teeth and she could not have done any better. She was very patient and thorough. After the anesthesia wore off, I couldn't even tell where the injection sites were and I had no discomfort.

Dr. Carpenter and his staff are so professional, but so welcoming at the same time. They make sure you're comfortable! Oksana was wonderful at getting my X-ray and panoramic X-ray done, as well as making sure I understood what all was going on. Dr. Carpenter got in and extracted my wisdom tooth and relieved me from so much pain! 10/10 would recommend.

I've been going to Carpenter dental for many years. The staff is excellent and Dr. Carpenter is exceptional.

Dr. Carpenter and his staff are great at what they do! I came to their office several years ago needing emergency dental care. From that first visit and to this day, they treat me with the utmost respect. They don't make me feel ashamed about my teeth, are always upfront about costs and willing to work around finances, as well as making me very comfortable in the chair. For me, I feel like the numbing before a procedure is the worst part, but Dr. Carpenter always does such a great job at this! I never feel that painful pinch/ pressure. I usually find myself surprised that he's done. I love how their staff are so good at patient care and clean up during the procedures as well! I never feel like I'm choking or drowning during a filling, etc. The hygienists do such a wonderful job cleaning my teeth and recommending ways to improve my dental hygiene. Plus, they always have yummy flavors. I would recommend Dr. Carpenter and his team to anybody needing dental care.
