I've been a patient at this dental center for about five years and always been pleased with their service. Respectful and competent business and staff. Reasonable prices and I've never had an issue with the treatment.

The worst treatment of employees ever. Was insulted multiple times by employees and they are completely illogical for a medical facility. The bbb needs to be contacted

I received horrible treatment and tooth damage at Boulder Dental Center. It first started when I went to the Foothills location several months ago for a long overdue cleaning and was seen afterwards by Dr. "Raz", who said that I needed a filling for a tooth that was not bothering me. After I told her I had a crown on the tooth next to it, a new crown was added to the quote I was given at the front desk. It was obvious she was trying to find a problem for further work. I wasn't planning to go back, but then roughly a week later, I was having severe pain on the other side of my mouth and knew I needed a root canal. I decided to see Dr. Appleby (same location), who I thought was more trustworthy. She agreed I needed the procedure and said she could do it the next day, which was a surprise to me since the one root canal I had years before, on a different molar, was done by a specialist. She also asked how old all my crowns were, including the one on the painful tooth. She tested the crown by having me bite down several times on a hard plastic object, but the crown was not damaged and was not the cause of the problem. The following day, she started the root canal, but had to leave it partially started because my canals had calcified. She then agreed that an endodontist would need to complete the work. I was given a referral for a nearby endodontic practice where I was informed that they could not get me in for 2+ weeks. Dr. Appleby said if I couldn't be seen there soon that I should see Dr. Abboud, who could see me the following week. I was led to believe he was an endodontist, when he is not. He is owner of the practice. When I saw Dr. Abboud, my condition went from bad to much worse. The lack of empathy for my situation was the least of it. I expressed to him that I was not happy with needing to now get a new crown to replace the one that was removed. Instead of apologizing, he made excuses and unfounded claims. He proceeded to work on my tooth for close to an hour before saying he didn't think this would be successful. He continued and drilled through my root and out the side of it. He said at that point I'd need an implant and sent someone in to give me a quote. I asked for my X-rays, antibiotics (since I now had an infection), and pain medication. They refused to give me pain meds, which I really needed. A few hours later, I called BDC and spoke with the manager in which I expressed how upset I was. She stated that nothing would be billed, although, she did try to get me to go back for further treatment, which I refused. After that nightmare experience, I was able to see an actual endodontist at a different practice, who was very knowledgeable, experienced, and caring. I learned during that appointment that my tooth had been drilled out so much that I had damage to my gums underneath and had a broken piece of a metal instrument embedded deep between my root and gums, but my tooth could be saved, and an implant was not the only solution like I had been told by Dr. Abboud. I had to have two further root canal treatments on my tooth as well as core buildup of my tooth to get a new crown that did not originally need replacing. All of this caused me so much stress, pain, change in diet, as well as much more money spent personally and by my insurance than it would have if I had gone somewhere else capable of helping me. BDC did bill my insurance days later, causing multiple phone calls to ensure a refund was issued and received by insurance for the claim that never should have been submitted in the first place. Through generous personal loans, I was able to pay for the needed work from the new Dr. while I waited for BDC to refund my insurance (even a partial billing caused me to have to pay the full cost of the additional work needed). I still have the metal piece in my mouth. Fortunately, it's not causing any problems yet. If it does, I will need further endodontic work. I was lied to multiple times and treated me with little compassion or regard. I wish I had never set foot in any of their locations.

I went to Boulder Dental Center. My primary experience with Dr. Pham was good. I was also looking to have my teeth whitened. The assistance compared notes on how to do the procedure. Neither being an expert, talking about who trained them and how to carry out the whitening. Neither person was confident on how to whiten, how long to leave the substance in my teeth. If felt awful. They were unsure of how to put the lip separator in my mouth unsure if it was upside down or not. It was awful. I left before they finished and won’t be back.

The office has the atmosphere of a production line, huge patient load and the dentists are working on multiple patients at a time. It certainly felt like they weren’t focused or attentive to my experience. My first appointment with the dental hygienist was fantastic. I was very hopeful to have good dental care. I had fillings done and the dentist cracked one of my teeth. They tried a second time to fill and didn’t seem to have any compassion that I can’t eat with that side of my mouth and have pain even when brushing my teeth. After the second filling didn’t work, they submitted a request to Medicaid for a crown. When that was denied they told me to pay out of pocket. I cannot afford that and they won’t acknowledge that they caused the problem and work with me on any sort of payment problem. Do NOT recommend.

Consistent quality and care. I’ve been seeing the same hygienist, Carmen, for years. I know I can rely on her to maintain healthy teeth and gums. All the dentists are professional, efficient and very kind. And finally the stars of the Boulder Dental Center on Canyon are the front desk people. They are very respectful and efficient and polite. I am very grateful to Jenna who earnestly kept me in mind to get in for my exam, c-rays and cleaning. I don’t even live in Boulder anymore. It’s worth it to me to drive in all the way from Denver. Thank You!

It’s a dentist, candidly I’ve had a filling here that didn’t have bite clearances properly set that resulted in impaction that killed the root and resulted in a root canal. I’ve also felt like a car getting an oil change rather than a human interacting with a dentist (the dentist in question runs multiple practices, I don’t blame them for being jaded and impersonal after that much work!), however the interface with the desk staff has always been lovely and as a cleaning location it will do the job. They are just the victim of being too large a company I suppose. I grew up with a small town dentist and won’t be moving back to Texas for their amazing personal skills so I dunno what to say. Mostly I’m still a patient here because the search for an amazing dentist is still ongoing.

Dr Appleby ruined my tooth by doing a root canal that removed half of my tooth. I ended up losing that tooth. She was so rough I had lock jaw. And while trying to recover, they told me if I wanted my crown seated it would be an additional $500 because the price changed. RUN! The dentist does not know what she's doing.

Before Dr. Raz (Irarrazabal) started filing my tooth, I asked her if there was anything else I could do in lieu of getting a crown. I value more the ability to keep as much as possible of my natural teeth and my time and days spent pain-free than I do having a tooth cover even if it is guaranteed not to chip. She stared at me, shook her head and said nothing. A week later, when I went in to have my permanent crown placed, I asked her “Could I have had it filled?”. She replied, “Yes, of course…” I still don’t know exactly why I didn’t explicitly ask if I could have it filled at my appointment the week prior. My regret over that is enormous. I had assumed, erroneously, that if a filling were an option that she would’ve presented that possibility to me when I asked for alternatives. Seeing the disappointment in my eyes, she said, “You never have to do anything you don’t want to do…but there is no way to know whether the filling would’ve held up or for how long”. Words offered a week too late. I recognize that filling it wouldn’t have been as secure a treatment option as a crown is but the probability that I’d incur serious traumatic injury from opting to fill the chip wasn’t secure either. I felt disheartened by the realization that my tooth was good enough to remain, that a filling would’ve sufficed. That I didn’t need to waste two afternoons of my life in that chair. That I could’ve spared myself the numbing injections. That didn’t need to have a tooth, containing the hardest substance on my body, abraded. That I could’ve avoided the extreme soreness in my jaw the ensuing 48 hours. Dr. Raz conveyed clear awareness of my hesitation and aversion to the procedure, admitting, in front of her assistant, that I asked her for alternatives before we started, that she perceived my discontent over the impending procedure the week prior. Yet she did not present a filling as a viable alternative, she withheld information from me. Her action, or lack thereof, has eroded my belief in people’s goodwill and authenticity. While she corroded my trust and naivete, one good thing that came out of this is that it gave me a greater appreciation for the providers who, unlike Dr. Raz, practice ‘less is more’. It has also increased my respect for providers who, unlike Dr. Raz, stop to exercise transparency in order to help offset the information asymmetry that exists in provider-patient relationships. This should serve as a reminder to patients that they’re the only ones who hold their best interest above all, while dentists are economically incentivized due to the fee-for-service model. Please don’t make the mistake I made by trusting Dr. Raz’s nudge unreservedly. For example, if/when you’re told you need a crown, explicitly ask “Can I have it filled?”. If unsure or opposed about a suggested treatment, seek a second opinion from an unrelated practice before agreeing to a procedure, even if the procedure seems minimally invasive. To the practice, specifically, Dr. Raz-first two reminders- a) getting a crown is much more than merely a ‘jarring’ experience. The numbing agent alone doesn’t mean the process of getting a crown is painless nor simply a brief and mildly uncomfortable procedure. The physical discomfort lingers beyond the patient chair, beyond the declining potency of the numbing agent. For example, even now, months after getting the crown, cold sensitivity persists. b) simply because Medicaid, or any other insurance company, covers all expenses of a procedure doesn’t mean that the patient will opt into the costliest or more aggressive procedure. Suggestion: if a patient is averse to a suggested procedure and asks for alternatives, then present the patient with all available options, even those you might deem suboptimal in comparison. Being transparent empowers patients and shows that you respect them enough to invite them into the decision-making process. You can help reduce uncertainty by taking a few extra minutes to list the options and the possible benefit and or repercussion of each.

unfortunately I had a terrible experience here.. the assistant left in the middle of my procedure, leaving the poor dentist to be assisted by a kid who had never assisted a dentist before, ever! with their hands already in my mouth I could hardly protest and the procedure took twice as long as it should have and was incredibly uncomfortable, eventually I was late for work and had to leave with the filling unfinished and my bite uneven. I had to go to a different dentist to fix it, because I didn’t want to be in incompetent hands again, and pay out of pocket as insurance wont cover a filling on the same tooth twice, even though it was poorly installed leaving a gap to only Make the cavity worse... Honestly I felt bad for the dentist she seemed very overwhelmed and frustrated being abandoned like that! Overall definitely don’t recommend.. experienced some frustrations with scheduling and front desk management as well.

BEWARE! My dentist Brian Howard, DDS had supposedly joined this practice but neither he nor his hygienist were in the building when I showed up for my appointment. I waited 40 minutes for a cleaning that was no where near as thorough as I was used to from my regular hygienist, Ulla. When I asked where they were the staff would only offer vague answers like "he's not here today" and "she (Ulla) didn't show up today". I regret not walking out before anybody touched my teeth. I was told I needed a crown but the receptionist told me I could not schedule it with Dr. Howard. Finally as I was leaving the receptionist told me Dr Howard was "looking to retire by the end of the year". I felt like I had been tricked into going there and receiving work. I was never informed of this transition. I do not trust or respect the Boulder Dental Center. I read their 5 star reviews and found them to be so generic and vague I suspect their legitimacy.

have never ever had an issue with any Dentist but my experiences at Boulder Dental Center have left me with a new phobia of going to the dentist. I have never been treated so poorly by an office or had to deal with so many issues. My saga: Visit 1: I went in to replace a filling and they ended up drilling a ton of my existing tooth for a crown instead of just filling the cavity. A temporary was placed that was so painful that even chewing on the opposite side was excruciating. Visit 2: When my permanent crown arrived, I went in to have it seated and the assistant spent 15 minutes trying to force SOMEONE ELSE'S crown onto my tooth. I yelped the first time he tried to put it on and the assistant and Dentist seemed surprised I was in pain and were hesitant to give me any sort of numbing. He finally did and then continued to try to force the crown on. I had tears coming down my face and was experiencing pain worse than any broken bone I've had. I asked for more numbing and the Dentist was dismissive but agreed to it. I have never felt so invalidated by any medical provider ever. He finally realized it was the wrong crown, told me he would re-order the right one, painfully reseated the old temporary crown and sent me home crying. The temporary crown continued to be painful and make eating hard. Bonus: I lost 5 lbs in the two weeks waiting to go back. Visit 3: Before this visit I asked to cancel the follow-up and get a refund. They continued to pressure me into coming back until I finally gave up and caved and agreed to see a different provider, apparently with a "lighter touch". The front desk said they would put me with the new dentist moving forward and add it to my file. With the new dentist, I went in and informed her about the pain I had previously and she seemed skeptical and tried to seat the crown without numbing. Again, I was yelping and crying from pain. I have a high pain tolerance and this was worse pain than when I got hit by a car biking. She finally agreed to numb me. Tried again. Needed a second numbing. In trying to seat the crown, she cracked it and again we had to start over by ordering a new one. For the second time, I went home numb, in pain and crying. Visit 4: The new crown arrived. I showed up expecting to see the female Dentist they assured me I would have for all future appointments and they had added me to the schedule of the original male Dentist. They offered that I could wait an hour to see the female Dentist. I asked about refunds and they said the office manager would call me that same day. Two days later I got a call from the office manager. They are refusing to refund due to "services rendered". I don't know what Services were completed since I attempted 3 separate times and they made 3 significant errors that resulted in me not receiving treatment and left me in a significant amount of pain. I kept explaining the situation but the office manager interrupted me and said I was "refusing services". I came in multiple times but they made serious errors. I regret ever going to this Dentist. If they would refund me, maybe that would make it right, but I have never been treated so callously and inhumanely. Please don't make the same mistake I did by going here.

I'm a fairly new patient for this practice. Yesterday I had my 2nd dental cleaning; the hygienist was timely, thorough in her examination as well as cleaning. Earlier this year,  I had a toothache that was challenging in terms of identifying the source. Dr. Pham was persistent in her attempts at finding the reason for the pain and referred me to a specialist. Eventually the source of the pain was identified and the office was able to work me into their office schedule for treatment soon thereafter; which I was very happy! The practice draws on a variety of specialists and modern imaging and equipment. Yes, I would recommend Boulder Dental Center.

Do not go here for Invisalign work. It’s a complete scam. I also can’t comprehend the lack of communication between locations. First: There was little to no communication about the entirety of the process, and every time I went in I would learn about a new portion of the process and how long it would take. Second: There was an issue with insurance since they didn’t bill the insurance company upfront but rather split it into 2 payments and I switched jobs during the 2 year process. Third: The outcome made my teeth look worse, despite what the xrays displayed when I started the process Fourth: When I came in for a cleaning, bonding, and whitening today; they didn’t know how to do bonding, despite that being the main reason for my appointment. I’m extremely disappointed in their services and customer service. I am switching dentists today!

If I could leave a negative star I would. WORSE SERVICE IVE EVER RECIEVED! Not only did the "dr" not directly speak with me, he also recommended unneeded work just to make money. They did not fully clean my teeth and also popped out a filling while cleaning. This is one of many issues I had simply with the first visit. When I called to cancel and get my things sent to a new dentist the receptionist hung up on me while I was explaining the issues. 0 out of 10. Would not recommend.

***UPDATED June 2021: I recently had a terrible experience with a hygienist here; she was completely out of line and unprofessional and I have contacted the office about the things she did and said because they were so unacceptable. After two years of being very happy here working with Dr. Carter (who unfortunately recently left the practice) and his staff, I have changed my 5-star review to a 3 star and will update again accordingly if needed*** Original review: I have struggled to find good dentists in the past and this practice is excellent. All staff are friendly and professional, all dental hygienists are great to work with and are clearly experienced and knowledgeable. The office was very clear and up front about costs and does an excellent job working with insurance. I would highly recommend Dr. Carter-- he is great at explaining what he is doing, what his recommended plans are, and why he makes those specific recommendations.

I am shocked to see the 5 star reviews for this practice. My partner went here to get a tooth looked at that has been bothering him. We got in on the $90 new patient x-rays & cleaning deal. After the visit my partner came home with an estimate for $3,700 worth of work that they insisted was necessary. If he decided to join their "office plan" with in 30 days the price would be knocked down to $2,700. Which raised red flags to me. The best part is: they didn't even address the tooth that was bothering him. So I contacted my relative out of state who works at a dentists office & had his documents sent to them. They were shocked & APPALLED to find that the services this office recommended were not even necessary. Boulder Dental told him he would need a deep scaling & cleaning with numbing for all 4 areas of his mouth & the x rays showed that he did not even have any calculus build up. My relative also mentioned that this was the oldest scam in the book as far as shady dental practices go. SCAM. Hands down taking advantage of people who don't know any better & won't seek a 2nd opinion. I think that's a disgusting way to do business. Especially for a dental office. The opinion of my relative who has been in dentistry for over 35 years? He just needs the 1 tooth pulled.

I had a pain in a molar & went to my dentist. She diagnosed that I potentially needed root canal & new crown or implant, but asked me to go to an endodontist. She recommended 1 but was busy. So, I went all the way from south Denver to Boulder to see Dr Abboud bc he'd be an endodontist that could see me next day Got there & saw Dr Patrick. Nice young guy but he was not the endodontist. His diagnostic was similar to my dentist, except I went to see "Dr Abboud" for his confirmation and next steps. I politely asked Dr Patrick for Dr Abboud and said he was busy. Nurse came with how much it'd cost for an implant (still no Dr Abboud around) & said that if I was getting the implant he would come do it right there Well, no thanks. I need to at least see the doctor & meet him before I give him my business & let him take my tooth. That's rude & unprofessional. No empathy. Pay for your visit but I won't see you face to face. If my out of pocket is so high, I rather give my money to someone else It might be a clickbait strategy. Set up your appointment with X doctor, but once you drive, take a few hours of your day and get there...... well, someone else will see you.....

I have been coming to Boulder Dental Center and seeing Dr. Danny since he bought the business from Walter Davis. I have complete faith in his judgement, as I did in Walter's. The tradition of excellent has been maintained. All the hygienists I have seen through the years have been competent and pleasant. The dental center also does a remarkable job at staying on schedule, which I would imagine would be tough. My family gets their office dental plan, which helps to control expenses.

I like Boulder Dental Center more and more! Dr. Raz is phenomenal. Best dental care I've had in years. Their state-of-the-art technology made crown fitting almost pleasant. Their pricing is very competitive with no scrimping on quality and service. I recommend them unequivocally.

Right off the bat I had great communication scheduling and follow up info. My hygienist was excellent at helping me optimize my brushing habits. Dr. Carter was amazing, he gave me straightforward info on my crowns and pin pointed sensitivity issues, two subjects that other dental firms in the area failed at.

An amazing experience from the front desk to surgeries. I’ve been coming here for around 13 years now and I can’t say I’ve ever had a less than stellar experience. The staff is polite, efficient and very professional, they’re able to explain everything and answer whatever you may ask. I could not hope for or recommend a better dental experience!

Boulder Dental Center is amazing! I never thought I would say that about a dentist as I absolutely hate going to the dentist, but Dr. Pham and the staff made my experience as painless as possible. The staff were professional and helpful, and Dr. Pham educated me on how I can take care of teeth better, while also making sure to ask me if I was doing ok throughout the cleaning.

I recently moved to Colorado (from New Jersey). I needed to find a dentist, so I went online and found 'Boulder Dental Center' and made an appointment for a checkup and cleaning. I was so lucky to have Annie for my dental hygienist, who was very patient with me and gave me a very positive experience. I have had traumatizing experiences with dental procedures in the past and now have a fear of going to the dentist. I had a crown replaced yesterday with Dr. Abboud and his assistant Cynthia, and they made the procedure easy for me to endure. I highly recommend Boulder Dental Center and I am extremely relieved that I found this practice for my dental care needs. I will definitely be a loyal patient for many years to come.

I have had an overall great experience at this dentist. I have had a lot of dental work in the past and was dreading going back to a dentist, knowing I needed some work done. I was able to get an appointment really quickly for an initial assessment and cleaning. The cleaning went well and my wife and daughter even commented that my teeth looked noticeably better. I got a couple of cavities filled on my front teeth by Dr. Carter and an assistant. They did a great job matching the color where the fillings aren’t noticeable. I am glad that I came in and have a dentist in the area now.

I really like and appreciate everyone at Boulder Dental, specifically the Arapahoe location. I found this team a few years ago and have since moved out of Boulder. It is 100% worth making the drive to keep these folks as my dental team! From Miranda at the desk to Dr's Loo and Applebee, I have never felt more comfortable and cared for by any other dentist!!
