The professionalism of everybody from the secretary...to the nurses are remarkable. I could not ask for a more enjoyable experience considering what I just went through with spinal surgery. Thank you so much! You have given me back my mobility and will be scrambling very soon.

After loosing my mother unexpectedly, we then had to fight for information on her cause of death. A overall heathy woman was brought in and 6 hrs later she was no longer with us. It took them almost two weeks to preform her autopsy, which we had to fight for. We were getting calls from many different people in those two weeks all contradicting the last person who we spoke too. Very poorly organized and clearly no communication in house. They were not on top of her case one bit, and we mostly just kept receiving calls asking why we hadn’t organized a mortuary to come and claim her body…. Which we had done but we’re still waiting on them to preform her autopsy. It was a very frustrating experience, especially during a time of mourning.

Billing department sent my bill to the wrong address and I received past due notices for bills. I called BCH and Insurance twice regarding this ONE bill. I was asked to send a pic of my card...which I did a month ago. Over a month later insurance co did not receive a bill after calling BCH with correct information. I gave a call reference ID and correct information several times. After being assured they would re-send the bill, they sent another email and text with overdue notices. I called again. They never re-billed and added a new bill that was not sent to insurance. In the past, I was told my insurance was out of network for various services. A lot of time and perserverence on my part finally got the earlier bill paid. I WAS in network as I knew, which is why I went to BCH in the first place. Be willing to spend time on the phone to deal with insurance and question what they tell you if you utilize BCH.

We took my 80 year old dad in for a simple chest x ray. We were told we could walk in at any time at the 1000 S Boulder Rd location. We checked in at 9:30 and didnt get it done until 12:15. The check in girl and staff were short and curt. No compassion for the elderly. I will never use this Radiology dept again!!They do not know what they are doing.

This is the worst place to go. I came in for a simple strep test and proceeded to wait 3 hours while they did nothing. Then I got the bill which came out to $760 just for going to the emergency room, and they said it was non-negotiable. As a college student, I dont have $760 just lying around. This place does not care about your needs and whether or not you can afford the bill. Never come here. If I could give it 0 stars I would.

Had an laceration on right hand/knuckle, on 27 of Nov. came to On Nov. 28 treated by Dr.Price, x-rays, irrigated with tap water bandaged sent away. On Nov. was cleaning green-yellow discharge. Came back to Er on Dec.01, was seen and admitted had 2 D & I surgeries by Dr.Timothy J. Pater, both all of 17 minutes, infection never healed, upon being informed that 3rd on needed. I fired-relieved as attending physician Dr.Timothy J. Pater. Was also informed that Dr. Pater would speak with me after both initial surgeries, never happened, not impressed. Was informed that other hand surgeon would not take over, not my problem. Was informed that Dr. Kollitz-Jegaprsgasan would take over. Dr. Kollitz-Jegapragasan, when I first met with her totally opposite encounter, felt that she really was concerned by her actions, after 3rd surgery, she informed me that a possibility of 4th surgery needed and if it did not help possibility of amputation not out of realm of course of treatment. She also met with me before both surgeries, very concerned. After 4th surgery, when she spoke with me, I could tell by her emotions and demeanor not good. Amputation was to be scheduled for Dec. 20th, 4th surgery on Dec. 19th. I believe due to Gross medical negligence and Malpractice, I lost my right finger and knuckle amputated. A lot of miscommunication happened, with 3 infectious disease Dr.King and Turner took the time to explain in detail that type of infections not easily cured, would not be quick fix. I totally trust them and my hand surgeon, Dr. Kollitz-Jegapragasan. I also believe that if I would have stayed with Dr. Pater out come would have been a lot worse. Also in notes It was stated that Dr. Kollitz-Jegapragasan was taking over because Dr. Pater was out of town, a total LIE, as I fired him, when I look back, when he did speak with me he never made eye contact, says a lot about his character. Also when I spoke with the PA that works with him, a sad excuse for why such short period of time, “ what about other patients booked for same Er, their surgeries would be pushed back, at that time the light bulb came on very bright, it was not about me but the all mighty $$$$$$$. So in the end I lost my 3rd finger and knuckle. And who suffered ME, My life has been altered forever, while Dr.Pater goes on, happy happy joy joy. No okay with me, and what will come from this hellish experience. I have tried to keep a positive outlook, they all were informed that after all said and done going back to camping, case manager dropped the ball too, it’s been up to me to communicate with my PCP for after care as of Dec.27th nothing. I will NEVER COME BACK TO BCH. I’d rather die. Sincerely yours, Shawn Rhoades

I just had a hip surgery at Boulder community. It was a great experience. The nurses were so sweet and helpful. I felt they were compassionate along with being knowledge, and organized. They’re professionals and work hard. I would highly recommend having surgery there.

Throughout my life (teenager years, 20’s and into my now early 30’s) I’ve basically had yearly routine pelvic and vaginal ultrasounds to check on randomly occurring ovarian cysts. My insurance coverage has fluctuated throughout my life (family coverage Blue Cross, private employers group coverage-Cigna/Humana/Aetna, no coverage, Obamacare, COBRA) so I am very knowledgeable of the costs of ultrasounds, as I’ve had so many performed in various states including Florida, California, Texas and NY. The highest I have paid was in Manhattan when I had ZERO health coverage but was worried my symptoms were showing signs of a rupture, which has never happened, thus why it is important to monitor. The visit, including the Doctors new patient fee, was $600. I paid in cash. I had a baby two years ago at Mount Sinai on the Upper East side, one of the largest hospitals in America, on my HMO and could not even count how many ultrasounds were performed, including my c-section and I paid around $500 in deductible and co-pays combined. However, my routine ultrasound performed at BCH was $1,000, not including the Doctors visit fee, and this is with an employers AETNA plan. Regardless of the plan or the carrier, whether HMO/PPO or NO INSURANCE, this place should not be labeling itself as community oriented. If a woman has to pay this much to of pocket because they are billing the insurance company over $2,000 for a completely common and necessary procedure for many women, it is my belief this place is absolutely fraudulent. Giving patients the option to pay in installments does not qualify as serving the community, especially if you are blatantly overcharging insurance companies and their customers for your services. I booked my appointment 3 weeks in advance (due to understandable Covid restrictions) so as I sat in my car on the appointment day waiting for the call to enter, I was contacted by the billing department informing me the visit would cost $1,000 out of pocket and I need to consent to this before entering the building. Although my symptoms weren’t life threatening, I still nervously waited almost a month with weird cramping and concerns for my health. I am the care taker for our two year old daughter, so my time is limited and my husband took off work in order for me to make the appointment therefore under the pressure, I conceded to the charges. I thought for sure it was a mistake or something I could correct through my insurance. The billing employee actually asked if I would pay over the phone as I waited in my car before the appointment, to which I replied “no” because I would like to receive a bill once processed through insurance. The incredibly routine appointment administered by an ultrasound technician, no specialized machines or Doctor involved, was completely overshadowed by the experience of that call. I felt so vulnerable and shocked because although I had checked boxes in the past agreeing to charges, I’ve had probably close to 50 ultrasounds in my life starting at age 14 and this was the first experience that left me feeling this way. Additionally, this is the only one I paid $1,000 for, including when I had zero coverage. My outrage peaked when I saw the amount charged to the insurance company on top of my out-of-pocket. The very reason the insurance would not cover the entire amount was because it was so excessively high. This was the first time I felt the facility was doing the scamming. As a new resident of Boulder, I am telling every single woman I meet to say far away from your OBGYN services. My daughter absolutely adores the Pediatrician, however I am so repulsed by the treatment I received, it is not possible for us to take her there anymore. If free seminars for the community, a beautiful facility, great applications/tech platforms means being completely ripped off and taken advantage of, then I would rather drive to Longmont or Denver for affordable care.

Staff is extremely slow. One nurse left an IV catheter in my arm and I had to find another nurse to ask him to take it out. The same nurse also overheard that Id been drinking and very rudely asked if I was 21, which I am. Was in the ER all day and literally nobody came to check on me or release me, telling me for over three hours that they were getting through other patients and that I would be next. Hopefully never have to come here again.

I worked there as an E.R./RN. Having said that, it was the most incompetent run facility I ever worked in. (I worked as a Paramedic, Flight nurse, ICU nurse in the Denver/Boulder area for 28+ years). They have a huge chip on their shoulders. The ER doctors and other medical staff members (not all, but most) are the most rude, arrogant, self-righteous, with the "I'm GOD" complex. I could tell you stories but I'll just comment that you better off going down the road. You'll thank me.

So many people say so many bad things about this hospital it is quite surprising. Probably because they live in Boulder and do not have a concept of hospitals anywhere else in the state or country. I can’t say much about the ER, but this hospital to me has been excellent, the phlebotomists have been the best I have come across (fast and smooth), and my PCP is affiliated to this hospital and she is above and beyond. Make sure you have your insurance information prepared and have done your research prior to injury and prior to hospitalization to make sure you do not get any surprise bills, which seem to be what many of JR complaints are about.

If you value your life do not go to this ER. Boulder Community not only treated me with utmost disrespect to include laughing at my head pain, calling it a "little headache" but also gravely misdiagnosed me. I was seen at a much better hospital and was diagnosed with a Traumatic Brain Injury and meningitis.

I am stunned to read so many poor reviews! My husband has been inpatient 5 times on 3 East over the last 16 months for diabetic complications/chronic wounds. We have had the most WONDERFUL nursing and medical care. Is everything always perfect? No, but as a nurse myself, the level of care, compassion and accountability when a minor thing happens is the best we've ever experienced. And he's been in many VA and Community hospitals over the years. The medical team consists of Dr. Susan Hagen (surgeon) and Dr. Amie Meditz (Infectious Disease). These two amazing women are powerhouses - so smart and compassionate. With this current stay, they had to give some difficult choices to my hubby, and they handled it so well. The nurses on 3 east are very proficient, more experienced patiently teaching the newer nurses - remembering that they were new once too. Judy RN was his nurse for the last 3 days - I'll be nominating her today for a Daisy award. Haile RN was one of the nurses who stood out in August when he was there. We have seen consistency in nurses, of course there are new ones, but MANY are the same over the past year plus. People with poor reviews - I hope you remember that the medical, nursing, lab/xray, dietary, housekeeping team are all working in the 20th month of a pandemic that has taken a HUGE TOLL on all levels of workers in all healthcare environments. I'm personally watched my nurse leaders in my job take so much unacceptable verbal abuse from customers this year. It's really upsetting when the public thinks they can be abusive and get away with it! Kindness, grace, understanding and respect - that's what healthcare workers deserve right now. Practice it people! Thank you to Boulder Community Hospital and their staff. I see you, my husband sees you, and we will continue to treat you all with the respect you earned and deserve, despite the very difficult time we are going through. We now have a path to full recovery - it may take months - but it will be worth it for better quality of life. Beyond grateful for you all.

This is the absolute WORST hospital I have ever been to. It would take the whole page to list the terrible experience I have had here. I'm pretty sure there is not one nurse in the surgery department who knows how to be friendly, knowledgeable and prompt. I hopefully never have to return here. If your looking for bedside manner this is definitely not the place. I really hope this hospital addresses this issue. Patients are people not pheasants.

I am in the emergency room with a cut on my forehead. It is deep and needs stitches. I have seen the nurse, and they have numbed the area. And, I have been waiting for 30 min. I hit the call button. I was concerned about the numbing wearing off. The nurse said not to worry, the numbing med last 3 hours. I asked when I will see the doc. She didn't know. Didn't know? Are you kidding. They are now all gathered and are laughing. This is not the time for jokes. BTW, if 1 doc saw mr instead of 4 docs so far with at least 2 more to see me..., (1 to clean it, and 1 to stitch it), they couldn't charge.medicare near as much. Boulder Community Hospital seems to care more about profit than patients.

This is a review for Home Health Care from a family member caregiver of a sibling suffering from COPD/Interstitial Lung Disease. He was hospitalized in January 2020 with COVID OC43, and after 7 months in virtual lock down at home, very weak and depressed/anxious due to transition of life of being on 24/7 oxygen, and losing mobility and independence. Sammi Curry, the physical therapist, treated the patient with such compassion and skillfulness, bringing him to a point of being independent, and mobile again. Not only did she make great strides in his physical well being, but in his mental health, giving him hope and able to enjoy activities of daily living again. As a family, we are beyond grateful to Sammi. She values and treats our elderly population with dignity and respect, when they are so vulnerable and treated as "invisible", by some of the community. As far as a review for the hospitalization at BCH of my sibling in January 2020, I would have to rate a zero. I had a release of information, they told me they had "flagged" the chart so the doctor would speak to the family and explain what was going on-my sibling had COVID and was extremely weak and disoriented and unable to communicate for himself. The only contact they made with me was a call 3 days after hospitalization to "come pick him up for discharge. How long will it take you to get here?" While the discharge instructions indicated 24/7 oxygen, he was sent home without oxygen, told had to use Roth Medical for his oxygen-"has contract with BCH" and he went without oxygen for 3 days in an extremely weak, and debilitated state.

I highly recommend the Boulder Community Health group for medical care, because I find them are the most responsive and caring health professionals, docs, nurses, phlebotomists, techies, and other support staff that I've had in my entire life. They have steered me through one health crisis after another this last few months and I am so grateful for their expertise, responsiveness, and outwardly caring and friendly services. I go to the BCH group in Lafayette and find it's a one-stop shop, like a min-Kaiser. It's very efficient, you can get multiple things done in one place and get in and out without burning the better part of the day. In addition, the follow up is very good. By the time I get home from an appt., there are usually a few e-mail messages from BCH sent to me through their on-line portal, a couple of text messages, and after a follow-up appt for a recent major surgery, there was even a voice mail from the PCP's nurse to check up on me and leave a number I can call with questions. I can also highly recommend my primary care-practitioner, Dr. Michael McCarty, who really listens and goes that extra mile when you need his help, although since their system is so well-organized and efficient, I imagine any doctor in the Lafayette group would probably provide a similar quality of service Overall, BCH has provided me with top notch, dependable medical care that I find really calms my nerves when in pain or ill and accelerates my healing process. Thank you BCH!

Waited over an hour and a half in the waiting room. Not one time were any chairs or surfaces sanitized. After 30 plus minutes a receptionist moved me to the covid section of the ED not knowing if I have Covid or not and nothing had been wiped down nor the triage chair. When I acknowledged it and the nurse heard me instead of sanitizing the areas she proceeded to ask us not to tell patient information. NO information was given about another patient just that yall aren't working at all to keep people from getting sick!! I did not obtain care from that moment on. If they aren't wiping down the common area with a lot of traffic I'd hate to see their maintenance of the rooms. Enter at your own risk. Chance of Covid is much greater here than anywhere I've seen. Absolutely disappointed and still sick all because they are lazy and don't want to ensure the safety of their patients.

I was just recently discharged from a 4-day stay at Foothills Hospital. Th nursing staff on the third floor orthopedics wing were ALL incredible! They were kind, efficient, extremely helpful, and helped in every way that they could. My only suggestion, and this goes for the lab as well as the nursing statff and that is PLEASE DO NOT WEAR PERFUME! I am a big fan of perfume, but if a patient is the least bit nauseated it is very hard to have to smell perfume. Otherwise, THANK YOU AL SO MUCH FOR YOUR INCREDIBLE CARE!

Awful awful experience. My boyfriend sliced his own leg really severely and when he walked into the ER he was bleeding everywhere because it was a pretty severe injury and the doctor who brought him back( his name is ZACH) shamed him for getting blood on the floor and was extremely rude. He thought that I had inflicted the wound because it looked like a purposeful injury and when they found out that it was self inflicted and that I didn’t slice my own boyfriends leg they decided to keep him (I understand the protocol) however I am currently writing this laying in the hospital bed with my boyfriend after spending the night and being promised to see an evaluator at 7 AM. It is now 3 pm and we have been sitting here with no help or assistance. They brought us food but other than that have done very very little in the way of asking if my boyfriend is feeling okay, when the evaluator will be here, etc. 80% of the people who work here are EXTREMELY cold and rude and especially towards somebody who inflicted harm on themselves? Like you work in the care industry how about even one ounce of sympathy? The only kind and helpful person so far has been a security guard. A freaking security guard. DO NOT GO HERE. They are money hungry and cruel. If I could give negative stars I could.

Avoid! I was visiting boulder hiking the flatiron loop. While walking down the switchback, my left foot caught some gravel and as I tried to arrest my fall, I squatted down into a pistol squat, and ruptured my quad tendon. After trying to get self rescue we called 911 and was transported down the mountain on a stretcher! Thank you RMR! And boulder rangers. I was taken via ambulance to BCH wherein for 3 hours I waited my fate, got xrayed, a script for narcotics, crutches and leg immobilized and told To contact the oncall orthopedist for an appointment! During that time, no one came to check me, when I was getting discharged one of the nurses said you need to call the doctor from the waiting room, can you please take your call there??? I was stunned, in pain shock and not given any direction, to only call the discharging doctor who rudely asked me who I was and asked what insurance I had!!! The bottom line was no sympathy, poor bedside manner of the nurses, the PA I saw was ok, but not an advocate and the oncall orthopedist dr gagliano was rude, condescending

$10,000+ for a throat endoscopy?!?! Worst experience I've ever had with a Healthcare facility. Look at other reviews, I'm not the only one that's had an extremely poor experience. This place is just straight crooked. I was asked to pay my total upfront before service- which I did, to the sum of a few thousand dollars- only to then be told that I owed another $8,000+ dollars for the throat endoscopy that they originally quoted at $1,800! This brings their total price for an endoscopy to over $10K !!!!! Is that not insane?!?! They took my total payment prior to the procedure as they said that pre-payment in total was their policy- so not sure how they came up with another $8K in expenses?!?! Hiring an attorney is next, but spare yourself the hassle and extremely crooked experience and find somewhere honest.

Let me start by stating I am now a medicaid patient due to losing my employment, before this I was paying for health insurance, I have never experienced anything like what I am experiencing on medicaid. I go to the doctors for urinary problems at 30 yrs old, I am made to wait 30 days to see a specialist, then the specialist makes me wait another 29 days, now I may have to have surgery hopefully not but if I do I am almost positive it could have been avoided if this would have been handled sooner, but I am not a doctor right?! They say there are shortages and specialists are booked way out ! Well maybe they should be trying to train more specialists, maybe they could pay more money for other specialists to come assist the ones here in colorado, maybe they could do something to treat the medicaid customers the same as the rich people. If this were to happen to anyone in the family/families that runs bch do you think they would have to wait 60days? I think not regardless of what they claim there is definite favoritism in the Healthcare field.

I worked here some time ago as a CNA and I can tell you first hand DO NOT GO HERE (if you have a choice). There was a very clear atmosphere of bullying and gender based discrimination. I saw two nurses get into a shoving match over a patient still on anesthesia, I had to break up at least four screaming matches between nurses and patients, and I have had patients tell me they did not receive their pain medication (some saying, "it felt like saline," keep in mind this was more then once they said that exact phrase and were still clearly in real pain). Management and HR were notified and they didn't care. This is far, far, far from everything I saw and experienced while working as a CNA mostly at nights. Also, I don't need your community relations email or contact info; you people didn't care at all when I worked there so it's too late to step up now. GFYS Boulder Community Health.

My son was transferred here from another hospital with an M1, involuntary commitment, to the in-patient mental health facility. He is bi-polar. When he was released they did not give him a prescription for his medicine. I am not a doctor and even I know this is serious illness that must be controlled by taking medication. .So if you or you know some one that is having mental health issues do not go here

So, I was refereed to Boulder Community for a prenatal first trimester ultrasound and genetic screening. Before going I talked with my doctor about the cost and briefly looked at insurance to make sure they were in network and it would be covered. I then received a bill for $1,300 for the ultrasound from Boulder community! Obviously this was a complete surprise! After going around and around with my insurance company, I finally figured out the the ultrasound was codded wrong. We called the billing department and at Boulder Community which they were 0 help and talk to my doctor. From my doctor we can see on the paperwork from Boulder Community that they had a different code from what I was on the referral. The code that I was on the referral clearly is for a first trimester ultrasound, the one Boulder community put is for a general ultrasound with no reference to prenatal or first trimester. My doctor's office has called and called and left message (many times while we were in the office. And we aren't getting called back or we are being told they can help us we need to call someone else. We call Anisa in billing and she says she can't do anything and I've called the imagining appointment and they say I need to talk to Bonnie, but even though I've left messages for this Bonnie to call me back she has not. The office people tell me they sometimes need to change the code because new info is discovered during the visit. But there was absolutely nothing new from our visit. Definitely, I was pregnant and still in my first trimester. We have our doctor saying its the wrong code and a bunch of people not willing to call us back or talk to us at Boulder Community. The lack of sympathy and willingness to help us over what was probably a clerical error is unbelievable.

If you or a loved one has the unfortunate luck of being here for an emergency, DO NOT STAY! Transfer immediately to a tier 1 hospital in Denver and get the care you need and deserve. The ICU here is absolutely terrible. Very poor care, no communication, no coordination among the docs and nurses, protocols that are not up to date, and just not where you want to be in an emergency. There is a good reason why this hospital has a bad reputation among locals. After our last experience, I'd have to think twice about going here if my kid got a bad splinter.

(Translated by Google) I had an accident (cut) and needed a suture, fortunately it was not an emergency because it took more than an hour to go to the room where I was treated, although I received good care I was disappointed with how long the service was because they finished after 2 hours, I don't want to think how long it takes when it comes to something more complicated than applying a suture.

Communication in this hospital is terrible we’ve spent so many hours waiting for stuff, for answers and the rooms are extremely uncomfortable, the nurses were good but barely knew what was going on

I came in with a medical emergency and quickly got submitted and randomly started spiking fevers and getting the chills for 4 days and all they've done is make me wait to talk to a dr ONCE a day to find out they have no idea what's wrong wrong with me. The communication in this hospital is HORRIBLE. I don't feel like i'm a priority at all. It's more waiting then them actually trying to figure out why i'm feeling this way. 10/10 do not recommend.

DO NOT GO HERE WHAT A BILLING SCAM I went here for physical therapy, the sessions were meant to be 45 mins but most times the therapist was 10-15 mins late, so really a 30 min session. I was told at my first session it's $67 per visit - then I got this bill for $191! Really!! $124 for 5 mins of massaging my shoulder joint you have got to be joking not even a MD makes that amount and this was just a physical therapist. When I called to contest this amount they said if I had not gone through my insurance it would have been $90 cash but via my insurance I'm paying $127 per visit.

Other than the woman at the desk at imaging.. I consider this hospital among the worst. Billing is ridiculous... they send you a refund then call 3 weeks later saying you're going to collections. Mri was a joke. Still no report. Had to wait in a tiny ..not cleaned changing room for 45 min. Billing lady was rude, at best. Mri woman the same. I don't get it. Also had a fun encounter at er. Less than a min with doc... wait wait wait..no one else there... and900 bucks later. Go to avista. Go to good sam.. go anywhere Else

I went in for a medical emergency and at the time was making hardly enough money and specifically told the doctor, I cannot afford this, do not make this expensive. I sat in the hospital for several hours. They put me on painkillers and did a whole bunch of unnecessary tests. Only to tell me that I needed antibiotics. Something a doctor could figure out for a fraction of the price. The nurses were rude and the doctors as well. For someone who is trying to go in the medical field, this was extremely disappointing to see. They then sent me surprise bill and then my total was 3000 just for sitting in a hospital bed and them doing nothing. Do not go here. I have been trying to get my bill covered for months. They do not respond. They talk down to you, and they are unwilling to work with you. I would happily drive an hour to Denver, than deal with this hospital.

Spent a night here in the ER after almost losing my life. Not a single bit of compassion from ANY staff member. The main nurse violated HIPAA by telling my family why I was there before I had a chance to speak with them myself (I was awake and not dying at that point, so she easily could have asked me first, like you are required to do BY LAW). Then I get a bill for $180 for the ambulance after insurance adjustments. Completely OK with that. Call them to pay the bill and they say its $3,000??? Of course nobody can explain that or give me more info. The worst night of my life was already made 1000x worse by their incompetent staff (who wouldn't even let me go to the bathroom to throw up until I literally threw up in the bed). Now this bill? How is any of this ok? So extremely disappointed.

This hospital took care of me and I like that but I then found out that I got charged for a exam that was supposed to be. They told me oh hun don’t worry about it’s free and then you charge me $300???!. They also charged me a another $300$ for my other hospital visit when they told me that my insurance was covering it. It’s not my fault that I was assaulted and had a emergency a week later. I’m very mad at this hospital and won’t be coming back.

I'm sure BCH fills a certain void in health care and provides a very basic form of healthcare for some. But overall, please avoid BCH if you care about your health at all. It simply not worth the money or the time. Just do a little reading. All the 1 star reviews are SPOT ON.

I have been a patient of BCH for over 20 years and, I'm not sure what has happened at this clinic, but I cannot recommend seeing any doctors there. The staff is extremely rude and uncaring and would rather turn away a patient vs. actually be helpful and prescribe treatment. I have asthma and, when I became extremely ill and couldn't get in to see my regular doctor, opted to see another doctor in the practice. When informing her I have ended up in the hospital with bronchitis several times, she dismissed my condition and told me to take Robitussin and Benedryl. I ended up in the ER with acute asthma and was scolded by my regular doctor for not being proactive. The lack of caring in general is astounding and I will never return to this clinic.

I have had the best experience with the midwife Paige Swales. She is the most caring individual and lucky to have had her deliver my baby. I wouldn’t choose anyone else to be next to me during this experience. She is very passionate about her job and this truly shows. Thanks Paige for being so amazing!!

My husband was in ICU for 6 days due to extensive bone injuries from a bike accident. I can't say enough about the care he received from the entire staff starting in the ER to the ICU at Boulder Community Hospital. It was a very positive experience.

We both worked there and left to work for a hospital that actually cares about their patients more than their bottom line. Then, I foolishly went back as a patient years later and was charged 22k facility fee and 5k anesthesia fee for....A COLONOSCOPY!!!!!! My wife would have been charged the same amount if she would have had a c-section. Unbelievable. Unless your dying, keeping driving! Their care is average on their best day and . . . its Boulder . . . so, they are pretty impressed with themselves and they will charge you accordingly.

Went to the ER for rabies shot and gammaglobulin. Boulder co. Health dept. Sent me. $17,700 was the charge for sitting in the ER for an hour, then getting 2 shots. These people are thieves! The CEO Dr. VISSARS is running a total scam on the people at this "community hosp." The national average for rabies treatment nationally is about $3500. My treatment will be billed at about $19,000. Want to get ripped off? Go to BCH. these people are evil.

BCH keeps insisting that my insurance is invalid. I've provided my card several times, I've validated my info with Anthem 3 times now, and all I get is that my info is wrong and I must provide correct information. I told them if they don't believe me, the info I provided, the insurance card image I provided, and what Anthem told me, there is a number for providers to call. Even Anthem told me I should not have to get involved. But apparently BCH doesn't intend to lift a finger for their patients. I'm cancelling all my appointments and making sure I have nothing to do with them in the future.

I applied for the Colorado Indigent Care Program and was accepted. It all sounds so great; the promise of financial assistance for someone like me who can’t afford health insurance. Well, it’s not very helpful if you can’t even schedule an appointment at BCH. The phone system for scheduling is one of the most frustrating experiences I’ve had. You call a number from the Colorado Government website and it routes you to some scheduling assistant. She was snooty and couldn’t help me make an appointment or even transfer my to two locations listed on the government website. She kept trying to defer me to some family medicine practice that won’t accept my Indigent Care Program benefits. She kept telling me that I was wrong, that there wasn’t a facility on Balsam street in Boulder... ‘you mean Folsom?’ ‘No, right here on the government website it says 1100 Balsam. I want an appointment there.’ After a couple minutes of getting gas-lit, she finally concedes that there is a medical facility at 1100 Balsam, but that she can’t help me make an appointment there. Long story short, I couldn’t even make an appointment to use my CICP benefits at a location that would accept them. One of my worst customer service experiences to date. I called a UC Health location afterwards and got an appointment that day in a matter of minutes. Will avoid using BCH in the future as much as humanly possible.

Our young adult daughter went in for persistent vomiting to the ER when we were on vacation recently. 12 hours later she was released after an emergency appendectomy. Every person she encountered was skillful, professional and caring. It was a true blessing to gave such great care being far from home. Thank you!

Yesterday, I went to Boulder Community Hospital for a blood test.. Except for a non-functioning telephone check-in from the parking, everything happened with efficiency and speed. Thank you, BCH.

Worst hospital ever. They sent my son home with a fractured rib and no pain meds. Now a week later he had to go back to another hospital where they actually gave him a prescription for pain meds

Rude staff that operates under the typical broken Healthcare mentality that someone's health can be commoditized. They refused to give me a billing estimate for services they already have billing codes and procedural prices for, with the expectation that I write them a blank check when in need of care. Staff hung up on me when I politely asked about their procedure. I guess "Community Health" is an oxymoron.

The service is really bad, specially in the ER. I have been waiting here with a second degree burn in my hand for more than an hour and half now. Around 45 mins ago, the doctor said she will give me pain killer and do a dressing on my hand and I am waiting ever since with so much pain.

After more than 20 years going to the BCH (more than 40 visits for our family of 5 including surgeries, etc.), twice I have received collection activity in process while waiting for our insurance to confirm bills. When talking with BCH reps, both times I received the same comments pay your bill and "we do not care what the issue is, we will send you to collections". With 800+ credit and and living and owning real estate in Boulder, BCH not represent the values of the Boulder Community. The first collection notice I received four years ago one of the tests that was later deemed medical unnecessary (CT scan) and that part of the bill was waived. But, BCH would have sent me to collections for a test that was medically unnecessary. BCH, as a community hospital and Non profit institution, seems to forget where they come from. Check out Longmont Hospital, Avista, Good Sam, or UC Health as alternatives if you are a Boulder Resident.

With a few exceptions, the staff is rude and indifferent. I was admitted after a fall. While awaiting surgery, i was ignored by the night nurse staff and nobody knew when my surgery would happen. I was treated like an annoyance rather than a patient. Don't go here if you want compassionate care.

Words can't describe enough how thankful I am for this hospital and staff. I don't have the best luck when it comes to hospitals but this was different. I went in for what was supposed to be outpatient surgery but had complications and my lung collapsed. They saved my life, I woke up scared and crying because I was in so much pain. Thanks to covid I couldn't have any visitors. My nurses were so caring and attentive I was at ease and at as comfortable as I could be thanks to them. Their bedside manner is the best I've ever experienced and I'm beyond thankful for each and every one of them.

Had a full knee replacement on March 16, 2020. Not my first time under the knife but it was my first time with BCH. Excellent experience: staff, professionalism, facilities all great.

DON'T GO HERE! Are here was abysmal and unprofessional. I had brain surgery and was here for about two weeks after care and some of the nurses were downright rude. Some ICU rooms were dirty and dismal. This hospital is terrible. They discharged me without needed meds and I almost died, and had to be re-admitted a few days later. I thought being in Boulder it would be a safe clean facility. It is the opposite. Saw a different doctor every day that had no idea what was going on with me. STAY AWAY!

I scheduled an appointment to have a TB test done 2 weeks in advance. Went in saw Dr, Lab technician, and got my blood drawn for this test. Only to find out a week later they only do TB tests on mon/tue, my blood was not ran and to come back... like I have an open availability that I can just come in whenever THEY mess up. Never going back.

I had the ambulance pick me up from urgent care because I felt fatigue with my 5 year old child. They put us in a room a gave me a few fluids . When ambulance left they removed me and my kid from the room & said that I called ambulance and jumped the line so I am now in the waiting area with an IV stuck in my arm . I’ve never been left in a waiting room with an iv ever . I only called ambulance because I didn’t want to faint on my baby & we are African American . & I’ve really given boulder the benefit of the doubt I’ve never felt racism but for two hospitals to show no care I can understand if I had someone to watch my baby but I don’t . This was my experience today & I am very emotional.
