Powell Pediatric Dentistry is AMAZING!! My 3 year old loves visiting the office and as a mom it gives me joy knowing I don’t have to worry about him pitching a fit at the dentist!

Today was our second appointment and My daughter said Dr Powell is the best dentist ever!!

My kids actually enjoy going to the dentist bc Dr Powell and his staff are so great and they make it fun!!

I would recommend Dr.Powell to everyone with a young child. He’s awesome and all of his staff shows caring and compassion for everyone. They are definitely patient and family centered. 5 STAR Monnaka and Harmony

I am the proud father of four girls who adore Dr. Powell and his staff. They are patient kind with a great bedside manner and always make sure we are comfortable and well informed. My daughters always ask ”when do we get to go back!” Powell Pediatric Dentistry is the best.

Dr. Powell and his staff do a wonderful job managing the kids and keeping the trip to the dentist fun for the kids.

If you live in the Birmingham area this is absolutely the best pediatric dentist and staff in the area. They are warm, patient and all three of my children enjoy regular check-ups at the dentist. We moved from Homewood and still drive 30 minutes just to see our favorite dentist and staff.

Our regular pediatric dentist was out of town when my 6 year old chipped her front tooth. Dr Powell was recommended as an alternative and he was great. He explained the treatment options to me and explained every step he’d take with my daughter so she new what to expect. The repair of the tooth was quick and looks great.

I highly recommend Dr. Powell! He was so great with my daughter, who has always had extreme dentist anxiety. The staff was amazing and the office environment is so peaceful, calming and welcoming for children. I’m beyond pleased with our experience!! And my daughter is actually excited to go back to the dentist now!! That speaks for itself regarding Dr. Powell and his staff.

Doctor Powell, pulled my 4yr old daughter tooth!! I was so afraid for her but, him and the staff gave me so much confidence that everything would be fine and she handle it gracefully because of the superb customer service!!.. My 3 children have been seen by Dr. Powell for about 5 years now-our latest visit being today. All of the staff are warm and comforting. The front desk is very accommodating with insurance/scheduling woes. They are patient with all ages (even adults ;) ). I am happy to support this business!

I take my son to Powell Pediatric Dentistry and he loves it there. He’s so excited every time he goes. They just go above and beyond to make you feel welcomed and they’re so polite and always complement him.

We live 90 minutes from Dr. Powell and gladly make the trip. He is kind, patient and awesome with kids. The whole staff is wonderful.

My 2 year old is petrified of the doctor and when he started going to Dr. Powell he screamed and did not want to be there (I’m sure assuming he was going to get a shot or his ears probed ?). This was our 3rd time going and he loved it. He was so excited to show the hygienist and Dr. Powell his teeth ☺️ Dr. Powell and his staff are so kind and patient with these sweet babies and definitely helped ease the anxieties of my little boy!

Dr. Powell and his staff truly care for their patients. We started seeing Dr. Powell because he was familiar with my daughter's rare special needs and now I take 2 kids and 2 grandkids. When my daughter needed extensive dental surgery Melissa worked with us and the oral surgeon to schedule it so she could have Dr. Powell there to assist the surgeon and do cleaning that couldn't be done in the office. No matter how anxious your child may be about the dentist you don't have to worry here. They don't ever force anything on a child. They are happy to grow trust and confidence to safely do what needs to be done without physical or psychological damage.

Our encounter with every staff member has been amazing. Dr. Powell was so patient with my 3yo and even sang to him in order to keep him calm! It’s a peace of mind for a worried mom when taking her kiddos to the dentist.

Dr. Powell and his staff were excellent! We are new to Birmingham. I spoke with several offices that advised they were booking appointments for late June and July. I had an emergency! He communicated with me through the weekend and did his best to make sure my son was comfortable. Our family was more than pleased after they went above and beyond to get our little one in so quickly!

We love Dr. Powell and his staff! Dr. Powell is very personable and is great with kids! My son who is generally hesitant to try new things started going to Dr. Powell 2 years ago and over time he's won my son's trust. Today, my 4 year old hopped up on the table and got his teeth clean like a big boy!

So very pleased with the experience my 5 year old had. Her very first checkup ever, then a cavity filling a few weeks later. She was happy and comfortable every second of the visit, and we brought her 3yo sister just to watch and get acquainted - they are both looking forward to their next visit ☺️ Dr. Powell is amazing, really takes his time to connect with the kid and help them feel safe and confident. All the associates made my girls feel right at home. I will be bringing all my kids here as long as we live in Birmingham.

Our family have loved Powell Pediatric Dentistry from the start but even more so now. Our 4 yr old son had to have operative work done and was VERY hesitant. So we ended up having to go with anesthesia . All went great. Then we had to go back because his crown fell out...panic attack ! I thought to my self "How is he going to handle this?" Well, he didn't do great at all and Dr. Powell said not to push him to give him time and he would come to earn their trust and they could fit it back on. A month later my son was having discomfort and asked to go back to see Dr. Powell. He was so brave and did so well. Dr Powell and his staff really took time with him and and took special attention to his needs which he had suddenly grown out of. I'm so glad our friends recommended us to them!

For the parent's... they have a very informative staff. Staff is also, excellent with the children!

Powell Pediatric Dentistry has been a great find for our family! Their friendly staff always makes our daughter feel at ease. The office is hip and modern with lots of fun toys and cartoons for the kids. Dr. Austin Powell is a great guy and takes time to care for our little girl's teeth.

Great staff and Dr. Powell is amazing! Unfortunately we had to move to Florida but if we ever come back to Birmingham will use this great facility again.

He recommended my oldest for a braces consultation, which in hingsight was the biggest waste of 5k I’ve ever spent. Despite her teeth being perfectly straight he convinced me there may be things they could see that we couldn’t. You know, your first kid, first time, you’re extra careful to do everything just right. Looking at the before and after pictures of her teeth make me irate. The only change is she was 2 years older. It’s hard enough to raise a family of five without someone like him trying to make a quick buck off of you. Makes me sick to know I was ripped off with his assistance. I’m sure he just wanted the referral fee. I hope it was worth it because my 3 kids will never return. Stay away from Dr Sherri Weissman, she’s as dishonest as he is.

My children have been patients at Powell Pediatric Dentistry for about a year now and we've all been very happy. Dr. Powell is funny and patient with his patients (no pun intended)! The office is designed very well! All new patients receive a free t-shirt, which delighted my youngsters. We will continue to return!

Always a fun time there and we are in and out in no time! Been taking my son for years now! The staff and Dr. Powell are AMAZING! They don't force your kids into things, they take their time to let the kids see its not a bad place and that its super fun to get your teeth cleaned and looked at!

Loved our first visit here! Did my paperwork online, waiting time was reasonable, everyone was very sweet and the kids all had a good time! Loved that they accommodated both sets of my twins at one time.

Both of my children come here, the assistant are accommodating, patient, and Dr. Powell is great! It's a bit of a drive for us but it is worth it!

I was so impressed with this office! Ms Valerie cleaned my 4-year old's teeth and is hands down the best children's hygienist EVER! I couldn't believe how wonderful she was at calming my daughter's fears and making the experience fun. Dr Powell was so nice and we can't wait to go back! Going to the dentist is scary for a lot of children and adults, but this is absolutely the best introduction to dental care you can provide for your child.

We had a great experience yesterday! Our hygienist, Valerie, quickly built rapport with our 3 year old. I was pleasantly surprised at how well she did with the cleaning and exam.

We love Dr. Powell and the entire staff at Powell Pediatric. Our experience with every staff member has been above and beyond positive. My daughter (2yo) went today and when my son (5yo) found out she was going he was disappointed and asked 'Why don't I get to go...you get a fun bag of goodies and a toy'. They are so informative and patient with the children. They walk through each piece of equipment on the child's level to ensure they are comfortable and confident. Going to the dentist is a wonderful experience with Dr. Powell!

I took my 2 year old son in today to see Dr. Powell and we had an amazing experience! From his receptionist to the Dental Assitants, my little fella felt so welcome and had a great time!

Loved it! It was a GREAT first dentist experience for my two daughters! The dental assistant was SSSOOOO patient with my girls and took her time showing her what each instrument did, to help my girls not be so fearful of the unknown. Dr. Powell was great too, and both my girls gave him and the assistant hugs as we were leaving. Could not have asked for a better first dental appointment!

Dr. Powell and his hygienist, Terri, took great care of my 4 & 1/2 year old daughter, even seeing us one the same day we called, since we had an urgent concern, though Dr. Powell was originally scheduled to be elsewhere. We were given Dr. Powell's number by our general dentist, since my daughter had not let them examine her teeth despite two years of attempts. Dr. Powell and Terri were so gentle with my daughter, and took time to make her feel comfortable and happy. She is now ok with the idea of a dentist, and liked going. They also took time to answer my questions and hear my concerns. I would recommend them to anyone!

First off the office is adorable, modern and new. All of the office members were very friendly and helpful and made my four year old feel at ease. Mr. Powell was friendly and reassuring to my youngest's dental concern. Would return in a heartbeat. Highly recomended!
