Homewood Shoe Hospital is a fantastic establishment. The people who work there are extremely kind and take pride in their work. As long as I am in the area, I will never take my shoes anywhere other than this place.

My go-to place to take any shoes I need help with. Always great service.

I went here to get my shoes fixed for a simple repair and I had a very good experience. I appreciated the good customer service from the women at the front desk area. I was in and out in five minutes.

Homewood Shoe Hospital is truly one of a kind. I don’t know what I would do without them. I live in Tuscaloosa and drive to Homewood every few months to have my custom ortho inserts and custom shoe lift adjusted. Now, with Shoe Lift Express, I don’t have to make the drive. I can just mail my shoes/inserts to Mariana and she’ll send them back with my requested adjustments. They are responsive to concerns and sincerely care about their patients. I have spent hours with Victor Costa making sure every adjustment is just what I need – which can be complicated. Vic makes the whole process feel comfortable and easy. Homewood Shoe Hospital easily knows my ortho needs better than any of my doctors! They have personally taken that “extra step” to get to know more about me, my friends, and my family during my appointments. The only downside to the new Shoe Lift Express option is that I won’t get to see Mariana and Vic as often. Ya’ll are the best. I’m so glad I found you.

Dropped my Frye harness boots off to get new heels as the old ones had become brittle and chipping apart. I am very pleased with how they turned out. They even treated the leather. They were also kind enough to ship the boots back to me as I travel for work and was just passing thru Birmingham at the time I left them. They seem busy over there so I would expect to be without your boots for a week or two. So plan accordingly. It’s def worth it knowing they are in good hands and the job will be done right! Thanks!

There are no words to even describe how good this business is! Vic is the absolute BEST! He is so kind and professional and just an absolute gem to the area! My mom is pretty much home bound and it is very difficult for her to get out. Vic went above and beyond to help my mom with her lift shoe and made every possible accommodation for her to be able to get her shoe with the least amount of time and effort on her part! I have been her caretaker for several years and Vic was by far the kindest and most understanding person we have dealt with! We could tell he truly wanted to help her with her mobility and took the time to understand what she needed to be as stable as possible when she is on her feet. I highly recommend you choosing them for all of your shoe repair needs!

HSH was able to fully repair and make my dress shoes look like new even though I had scuffed them and left them unpolished for over a year. They found a creative replacement for a shoe buckle that wouldn't stay in place. Turn around time was very quick and prices were reasonable.

Vic is a great guy! He really cares about his patients! I am handicapped! I was in wheelchair for 2 years! I have a rare disease erythromelalgia ! (Man on fire syndrome ! ) Vic made me the most wonderful orthotics!!! I would still be in the wheelchair if it was not for his wonderful craftsmanship!! I can walk now!! I accidentally stepped on a nail which caused a lump inside of my work boot. I brought them into Homewood Shoe Hospital and Mr. Costa fixed them free of charge in roughly 5 minutes. Even after I insisted on paying him, he kindly refused. Mr. Costa is a wonderful Pedorthist, gentleman and friendly to those looking for shoe repair or modifications. I cannot thank him enough for the work he did, and the kind words of advice he gave me as well. This man and his staff are professional and will take excellent care of your shoes. I will certainly be returning if I have shoe problems in the future.

Took my wife’s shoes by the Shoe Hospital to see if they could fix the leather on the back of the heel that got stuck in a crack. They fixed it in less than 5 minutes and didn’t charge me. Highly recommend and will definitely be back!

In a disposable world, it is nice to know that the art of shoe repair still exists. In addition to shoe repair, the artisan talent was applied while making my corrective insoles that were personalized for me. Can't say enough good things about my experience here. My daughter left her new pair of Teva sandals out and the dog chewed up the back of the shoe very badly. I was told by two other repair places that there was nothing they could do. Here they made something to make it work so she could wear them. So thankful I didn't have to buy a new pair of shoes!

Victor and his staff including Marianna were very helpful. The orthotics that Victor made for me, assisted my recovery from a sprained ankle received during martial arts training. I wore them 4-5 weeks every day and recovered. Keep up the good work!

I did my research and called several shoe repair businesses in Birmingham before I decided to go with Homewood Shoe Hospital. Not only were they the most inexpensive out of all of the other businesses but they were the friendliest and the absolute BEST! They repaired a pair of boots that were thought to be unrepairable at first. They had the tools and expertise for a special brand that required a lot of extra attention - for no additional cost! Can't say enough about them. #1 fan!!

My husband had polio as a child and required a large build up on one shoe. This was done here for over 25 years. Always perfect, never had a complaint.

Great customer service, dropped off my boots and they were not ready when I came back; owner sewed them while I waited(5-10 minutes) and said it was on the house for having to wait.

I love this place. I've used them several times over the years. Last week I dropped by and they did a quick repair to my boot heel for free. The staff are friendly and do a fantastic job.

My daughter, who is turning 18 this month, has never been able to wear heels or dress shoes because of her narrow feet. It has been an ordeal. I called on a recommendation and asked if they could do anything to help. The response was "Sure, we do it all the time. Come on down." We took her pageant shoes in and in 10 minutes he had her fixed and walking beautifully for the first time in heels. She can now buy shoes like everyone else and Homewood Shoe Hospital can work their magic. They were so nice, so attentive, and so understanding. As a mom, I feel like they worked a miracle and they will always have my business. I can't recommend them enough!

I dropped off a pair of heels to be cut down a week and a half ago and when I called ahead while in route to get them, first they couldn't locate the shoes and when they did, the owner told me to give him 10 mins to get them ready. So for a 10 days my shoes were just sitting there untouched. He rushed through my shoes within minutes of me arriving and when I got them they were leaning. I'm really upset because I've been coming here for over 10 years and have NEVER received such bad service.

I had a minor shoe repair; however, they gave me prompt service, and I was out the door in under 5 minutes. I will definitely be doing future business with them.

I went to Upsidedown Shoe Repair first where I was quoted $75 for sole replacement and informed that my shoes were probably not worth the repair cost. However, Homewood Shoe Hospital fixed my shoes for half the cost and they look and feel great! It was like buying brand new shoes for half the price and the customer service was the best! This place was fantastic! I had to get the sole of a boot put back on my shoe and the staff was extremely helpful. Not only was it done fairly quick, they were kind enough to let me pick up my shoe after hours. I absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for shoe repairs. Never wrote a review before, but the service this guy provided was awesome! I went to a custom leather shop about 5 minutes from here to get some holes in my belt and they wanted $10. Came here and the guy did it for free and wouldn't except my money after I offered it, not even a tip. He did a very good job and made sure to the put the holes where I wanted them and made it look nice. I am very pleased with it. Thanks Man!

I must have had a totally different set of people. I felt neglected when I came in. One set of shoes they told me that I should go somewhere else to get the hardware to fix. My other pair that just needed a tab added to the heel, they told me would take a month to repair.

I made an appointment and I really love their personality they work with you and I havent tried out my new shoes yet cause I have my appointment today to pick them up but just the way him and his daughter and the rest of the staff welcome u in and take great care of you I really love it and I never heard of the place but now that I know they will be seeing me more often I had a great experience with them

Victor and his awesome daughter saved my life!!! I was diagnosed with high arches due to Posterior Tibialis Insufficiency and had major pain walking. About to become a nurse, my feet are so important to me. Victor took such great care of me in making the BEST orthotics I could've ever had made. The moment I put them on, I instantly felt better. I almost cried... literally. I had to come back a couple times and get the orthotics tweaked, but I never sensed that they were bothered by me. They always smiled genuinely and spend special time with me until we got it right. These guys are very special people and for many special reasons.
