Kind and caring people!

Went in for removal of 2 wisdom teeth. Woke up from anesthesia to only 1 tooth being removed with the doctor storming off without a word to me. Secretary then tried gaslighting me into paying for the failed procedure when insurance said they had only approved removal of both teeth. This dentist is a hack-fraud and you should trust other clinics with your health and money. *edit in response to owner* I'm not surprised that you don't remember your mistreatment but it most assuredly happened in 2018. Trying to cast blame away from yourself while insinuating that I was never a patient here; falling back on your gaslighting tactics again, I see.. I'm posting now after receiving much more proficient and attentive care from my new dental office and won't ever be returning to Ascent. *second edit to include owner's original response for visibility* "Thank you for your review. Unfortunately, we don't recognize your name being a patient of record with us...." What makes you think I would have used my Google screen name in your records? "Nor do we remember a case in the manner which you described...." Again, gaslighting and trying to deflect by saying this never happened. The remaining wisdom tooth in my mouth says otherwise. Your responses only confirm my decision to seek better care elsewhere. Do better. This office is not Better Business Bureau accredited and it shows.

Dr. Johnson is great! I am always in and out quickly after a thorough cleaning. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

I just finished another great visit to the dentist. I have been going to this dentist office for at least 5 years and I have always had a wonderful experience. I enjoy their willingness to explain procedures and discuss what they're about to do. They have been very flexible with me with my busy travel schedule.

I’m sharing my review of Ascent Dental Group, which I sought due to Dr. Jeff Johnston’s CEREC (one-step crown) milling technology and experience both in teaching and using it. I evaluated multiple dentists when determining whom to perform my crown procedure and Dr. Johnston was the only dentist who checked my bite as part of his exam. His staff are very kind and understanding, and I found everything in the office to be in a sanitary condition.

Went in with a toothache and they were very sympathetic and concerned in finding the cause. Office staff and Dr. very friendly, making it easy to feel at ease in an uncomfortable situation. Definitely recommend giving them an opportunity.

Staff is always friendly... great patient service and very comfortable experience

I’ve gone here a few times now for cleanings and have had great experiences each time. They even helped contact me with orthodontists for Invisalign treatment to help me save a few bucks. Even short staffed right now due to the labor storage, I was met with smiles and good energy, which says a lot about the individuals not just the practice itself. I’m a lifer here!

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Jeff and his staff. I had a dental emergency arise and they squeezed me in quickly to see me amidst their busy schedule, got me comfortable and were so helpful in getting me the referral that I needed. I am so very appreciative of them. They are the best!

I had to have significant work done on my mouth since I didn't take great care of my teeth during COVID. Ascent Dental was fantastic about identifying all of the work I needed, answered all the questions I had, and gave me a great breakdown of the estimated cost. When it came time to have my cavities filled and a wisdom tooth removed, they did all of the work quickly, efficiently, and made it as painless as possible! I expected everything to take 3 hours from past experience, but they were able to do it (and do it well) in half of the time.

Dr. Jeff Johnson and the team at Ascent Dental Group are genuine people. They cater to your needs and listen to help make you feel comfortable about your dental decisions.

Ascent Dental 4500 E Cherry Creek South Dr Denver, CO On March 24 (Wednesday), I took my mom to Ascent Dental to get her upper dentures adjusted. It was supposed to be a minor adjustment with the end result being her whole mouth and gums burned and her face and lips were swollen. Her gums became blistered! We went back on Thursday for them to look at it, Dr. Jeff Johnston looked inside my Moms mouth and just walked away, didn’t say anything, didn’t tell us what was wrong and what needed to be done. At that time assistant Corny told us something went wrong in the process. They prescribed some magic mouthwash, which our pharmacy didn’t have until the following Monday. On Saturday we went to another dentist for a 2nd opinion, we found out my mom had a yeast infection. The blisters and infection were so bad that my Mom couldn’t put her dentures in, she also wasn't able to eat much for over one month! For a 77 year old woman, not eating for over a month is Absolutely Not Healthy!!! On April 27, (Tuesday), we went back and told them her dentures needed some adjustment. Same story, the Dr. Looks at it and again and failed to tell us what was wrong, only time he had the front desk come to tell us we had to go to a Lab to get the dentures adjusted, in Westminster which is about 40 minutes from our house, we picked this dentist because it's only 5 minutes from our house. We when to the Lab on Friday April 30, upon entering the lab we could smell what appeared to smell like chemicals, Inside the lab had a very strong chemical smell. So much so it made my Mom feel DIZZY! There was nowhere to sit for my mom to do the adjustment, we had to do everything in the employee lunch room. The Lab couldn't do the adjustment because the Dr. never sent them the work order, they tried to call Ascent Dental but unfortunately they're closed on Friday, therefore we had no choice but to go back to the lab to get the adjustment done and over with. I called Ascent Dental on Monday, at 7:40 am, to have them send the lab the work order, they told me they would call me back when they had it was complete so I could call the lab to make an appointment. By 9:30 am nothing, no call from them, I called them back, Corny said they were in the process of sending the work order. I called the lab to make an appointment only to find out they still hadn't received a work order. My mom was finally able to get her dentures done today, May 3rd! We were in the employee lunch room, while they were eating lunch while she got her dentures adjustment.

Great staff and very helpful about addressing questions and explaining options and procedures. Have been coming here for about four years.

I am 77 years old and have had many different dentists as I moved around the country. Dr. Jeff has been my dentist for 9 years and during this time I have had almost every dental procedure possible. All of the work Dr. Jeff did was superlative in every way. He was very careful to explain my options in each case and never pushed me to have the more expensive solution. He has the latest technology and is certified in so many different skills that all work can usually be done in one visit. He has a CT Scanner for a 3D view of your total jaw and a 3D printer so crowns are made and installed in one visit. He goes to great lengths to make you feel comfortable in the chair and has a wonderful staff to assist him. I highly recommend Dr. Jeff. He is a well-trained, caring, and skilled dentist. You will not be disappointed.

I’ve avoided the dentist like the plague for years, I had so many bad experiences (at other offices) and by the time I came into this office I had several cavities and a root canal that needed resolving, the dr who did my root canal was the best, I’m not saying I want to have to see him again but if I did I wouldn’t mind, he was super communicative and accommodating/attentive. This office has been nothing but sweet to me over the last few months and I no longer dread going to the dentist. Dr. Johnson and his team are top notch 10/10 recommend.

Dr Jeff and his staff have created the most efficient and comfortable dental experience you can imagine. I’m amazed at how easy it is to have a crown; how comfortable they make you feel throughout the experience. They even use a 3D printer to make your crown to perfect specification while you are in the chair. No repeat visits necessary. They maintain a very safe and sterile environment. You will love them! I was a patient at Ascent dental for several years. I never had major dental work done at this office but have had very poor experiences with their billing and business management. Earlier this year I received a letter that the office was no longer accepting my dental insurance. Because of this I switched offices (no big deal). Upon switching I asked for my records to be transferred which I told would not a problem. Shocker, they never transferred the records. I called back today and they said I have to pay $15 to get the records transferred to the new office. Will your care at this office be terrible? No. Can you do much, much better given the number of great dentists in the area? Yes. Do yourself a favor and find an office that practices great customer service and values doing business that isn't just a touch on the shady side.

I moved from out of state and was dreading about finding a new dentist after being with the same one for over 30 years. Beside having a very friendly and accommodating staff, this place always has something new and innovative. Ascent was a good choice. Highly recommended.

I have been going to Ascent Dental for a few years now and couldn’t be happier. The exam rooms are fantastic and include a personal tv to watch during your cleaning. This dentist office asks patients to leave 5 star reviews for discounts on their procedures (which seems fraudulent and very deceiving). The reviews do not equal the type of treatment this office provides. Treatments used to be thorough and top tier in the past, however, I've noticed a decline in their service and in their quality of work within the past year. My last experience with them was a recent dental cleaning which was not done properly. Removing minor stains should be a simple procedure. Rather I felt it was rushed since the office knew I could not return again because they dropped my insurance. I was told I needed permission from the dentist to schedule a follow up on the incomplete dental cleaning. It's been years since they once won the 5280 award and their quality in service is not the same as when I first became a patient at Ascent Dental. I recommend searching elsewhere for an honest dentist.

Just got a bill threatening to send me to collections. I went to them over 2 and a half years ago, you figure if I owed them anything they would have made an effort to contact me sooner considered I get their spam emails still. But no, if the bill is correct they're horribly disorganized, or they're a scam. Hard to say, but I don't care to go back to them again or recommend anyone else do so. Please avoid this dentist.

After moving to Denver a year ago, it was finally time to find a dentist. Everybody was super friendly and very professional, especially considering the issues surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic protocols. The hygienist who did my cleaning was amazing, but it seemed like there was miscommunication between the dentist and hygienist concerning my treatment plan. Although this is something that can be easily remedied in future visits, it made me a little unsure of the correct information.

The staff is very friendly and Dr. Johnston is very quick and efficient. Always a good experience.

I will say that nothing was inherently awful during my 3 years going here. Maybe I just have higher expectations as a daughter of a dentist, but Dr. Jeff doesn't seem to really care. I get it, dentistry is boring but even a fake smile every once in a while could help. Was also told about a cavity only to go to another dentist to be told there wasn't one. It happens but that was the last straw.

Very professional and friendly people

The staf is freindly enough (what staff isnt) and I dont think Doc Johnston even knows my name. I am leaving this review and this practice because I was charged $100 for some kind if plan that I was NOT on. Whoever was at the front desk wanting to charge me also wanted to argue about it with me. Finally she said someone would call me later that day. Six months later I'm still waiting for that call. I just called to have records sent to another dentist and gee guess what, they wanted to charge me for that as well

I have been going here for over 3 years and my dental health has definitely improved. On my most recent visit the dental hygienist was very thorough, helpful, and informative.

Always gives the best treatment. Zero pain 100% of the time.
