Says they do small pet services, called several times to ask if they take rats before wasting time to bring my rat who’s struggling to breathe there (didn’t answer till I got there) , recommend me to a place an hour away. Never coming back here, never recommending it to anyone.

I have been taking my dogs here for urgent care for many years even when I lived in Lowell. They are one of the few Urgent Care Vet facilities opened 24/7 and on a Sunday in the area. My dog Cooper recently had leg surgery there and Dr. Zitz could not have been better. Very caring (both Dr. and Staff) willing to spend time to fully explain your pets situtation/options. I have had to wait for long periods of time (at times) however this is during a pandemic so lets not confuse an overwhelming influx of patients with lack of caring.

I cannot say enough about the compassion and care provided here to my dog Shadow. Every team member I met or spoke with was exceptional. Dr. Bishop is the best and the other vets I have seen for him (and my other pets) here have been wonderful as well. They have always been there for me and I cannot say thank you enough. Shadow woke up a new dog today and I’m thankful for him to now be comfortable in whatever amount of days I have left with him. Thank you all!

Great team! Knew Scooby was in good hands! It was tough with Covid 19, but even thou I could not visit Scooby (who had his front leg amputated), I felt like I was with the pictures and videos the staff sent me. I highly recommend Dr. Zitz and her team! ??? @bawstondawg on IG Update 10/12/21 : 18 months later and Scooby is still going strong with Osteosarcoma!

DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE! Vey unprofessional the woman who answered the phone was extremely rude and when I asked for a name she said "yeah right" and hung up. They told me to be there at a certain time and when I got there they lied and said they never told me to come. she then got mad because I called her out and told me to go somewhere else. They also run this place base off of emotions so don't make them mad or they will skip you and say that your pet's injury" is not serious " I would not feel safe bringing my pet to them and I suggest no one else brings their pet here there's a reason why they have only 3 stars.

Hi Shavon, Perhaps you have confused with another area veterinary practice? Our records show that we have not seen you in our Nashua location since 2017 – almost 4+ years ago! It seems like you could have shown up at our Amherst location but were not seen as you had no appointment… Please let us know if our records are incorrect and we’d love to learn more details from you as well as make things right. You may call our Hospital Manger when you catch a free moment and we can help you further: (603)-821-7222, Ext. 125. Thank you, we appreciate it. Best, Animal Medical Center of New England

I do understand that there are some emergencies that are going on but when we sat and waited over 2 hours and called several times and they ignored the phone calls but i called from a different number and they picked right up. Then they said that they couldn't even tell me how long I would have to wait as I already watched a number of people come and go!!! They might not think that my case was an emergency but to me it was still important!!!

I found two rapidly growing tumors in my cat, Apollo. I was able to get him in to Dr Zitz who was able to completely remove the growths. Dr Zitz explained the issues in an understandable manner and answered all of my questions. I especially appreciated the responsiveness of the surgical team and being allowed to call to check up on him after traditional business hours when he stayed overnight. Her team was very responsive with all of my questions and really cares about my cat and his recovery. If I could give 10 stars I would.

We had to drop off our sweet new puppy here to be evaluated for a stomach issue. The staff was SO genuine, kind, and we knew our Charlie was in great hands! There was a shift change while he was there getting evaluated and both vets that worked with Charlie were so communicative, honest, and loving when discussing tests and treatment options. We knew he was in great hands and in the future plan to make this vet campus our home for all of Charlie’s needs. Thank you so much AMCNE!

Wow! I truly can't express in words how well my best friend was treated from Dr Zitz,Renee, front room to all of her staff!! Cavo is doing incredible on his right leg CCL and patella in February of 19 and his September of 17 left leg same surgeries. I've never felt more at ease and comfortable and trusting with any doctor ever! And my ever is a long time:-) Just want to share a few pictures since his surgery. But doesn’t look like I can on this format? Anyway, Thanks and God bless!

Dr.Zitz,Renee,Jamie and Emma are hands down the best team in New England. They go above and beyond in the care of the animals they treat. One of my dogs (Chloe) has had surgery preformed by them 3 times. One limb sparing (osteosarcoma) a acl repair and lastly a mast cell tumor removed recently. Each and every time they have gone above and beyond for us. So much so that when Chloe pulled her staples out they noticed I hadn’t slept (Chloe doesn’t handle pain medication well at all none stop crying) when I brought her in to be stapled up again they took her back sent me home to get some sleep and kept her in their care for the day. Most recently with the mast cell tumor removal they made sure to text me to check on her and make sure she was handling everything well. When ever Chloe has an overnight they make sure she is as comfortable as possible. She’s never left alone in a crate in the back. They set up her bed with her blankets and give her the like being home treatment. They treat Chloe so well we won’t see another practice. Chloe is 11 now and so well taken care of This team she is the picture of health. I can’t recommend them enough. If you deemed the absolute best care possible go see Dr.Zitz, Renee, Jamie and Emma. You won’t be disappointed and your pet will be given the best care procedure wise and bedside manner.

I love how caring the entire staff was with me and my persian cat Smuggy. The girls Carey, Lisa, and Shannon were very so nice to us. Everyone was on the ball addressing incoming emergencies that need priority in order to save the pets that came in. I just kept thinking that I was in the right place with my Smuggy and he would be taken care of without any worries. Upon leaving a new shift was arriving and Dr. Williams came out to discuss options with me that would certainly be what was best for my cat at this juncture. I really appreciate all of these staff members coming to my smuggy's rescue. I will continue referring everyone I know to please check this great facility out for regular visits and then having the peace of mind that you can go to them 24/7 as needed for any emergency that needs immediate attention and will get the best possible. Thank you to all these Staff members for being who you are for all the right reasons. Cindy Ahearn and Smuggy

We had to bring our cat Spike in about a month ago because we thought he might have eaten a ribbon. The ICU tech Amanda came out right away and got us into a room to assess him and noticed he was breathing a little weird and went to get the doctor right away. Dr. Durbill came in not a minute later and listened to his heart and lungs and said she was worried he might have fluid and we should take some xrays. The xrays confirmed he had fluid around his heart and needed an emergency procedure to remove it which they were able to do immediately. They explained everything very well to us and we could tell they are among the best at what they do and truly care about animals. Not that we hope to have to go back to the ER but we have piece of mind now if we do, we know our animals are in good hands at AMC.

We had a great experience tonight here at AMC. Carey was very kind and friendly, got us checked in right away. We didn’t have a long wait. Lisa came out and brought us in and examined our dog, she was very kind and helped our very nervous dog feel more comfortable. Shortly after Dr. Ramos came in and examined our dog. He was very thorough and resolved our girls problem quickly. I found it was reasonably priced for the emergency services. Overall everyone was friendly and very kind to our extremely nervous dog!

After our dog was injured and became paralyzed we were beside ourselves on how to care for him in this condition. After talking to Amanda about our concerns she introduced us to Renee who became our hero and our dogs best friend. Our dog is now walking and running again thanks to Renee and all the support this facility has given us. We cant say enough about how grateful we are for their experience and professional support. Dr. Zitz and her team were amazing ! My dog Karma went through a major surgery and Dr. Zitz took the time to explain in great detail the surgery and the recovery process to me which totally put me at ease. Her staff was so responsive and Renee especially went out of her way to answer my questions any time I contacted her and was so helpful. They all showed such empathy and love to both of us and it was truly appreciated! Dr. Zitz and her team really went above and beyond with Karma’s care and I would recommend them and AMC of New England a million times over.

My dog had to go to the ER at Animal Medical Center after ripping his nail while playing outside. He was bleeding everywhere and I was totally panicked when I walked in but the receptionist had already informed the doctor and technician that I was coming and the ER technician Amanda actually met me up front in the lobby with supplies to put a bandage on his foot to control the bleeding. They got us right into a room to see the doctor and got her taken care of quickly and for a very reasonable price for her exam and the sedation she needed and the medications she needed to recover at home. I highly recommend this place. I was freaking out when I walked in and they were all so kind and calm and reassured me that my best friend would be okay - they even called me the next day to check on him! He's all healed now and back to running around like a mad man!

Dr Zitz and Renee had operated on our beautiful Golden Buddy, he had torn tendons in his knee. We fell in love with them, on how caring and helpful they were. Now 8yrs later our very happy and lovable Golden Baxter tore tendons in his left knee, we had to find Dr Zitz to help us. We were lucky to find her at AMCNE. DR Zitz and Renee and everyone else at the hospital were so caring and helpful. When Baxter tore his right tendon we called and he was taken in right away. His surgery went great. I recommend AMCNE, Dr Zitz and Renee to help you through the surgery and recovery. They will always be there for you. Joyce Passalaqua

I recently wrote a review for this place and was threatened with a response of a lawsuit. They went so far as to accuse me of being a former per diem employee (I wouldn't bring an animal there let alone work there). I called to confront whomever wrote the response and they would not speak to me. Do yourself a favor and find a better place to bring your pets.

I brought my dog in recently for congestive heart failure. Both Drs. Bishop and Cassita were very kind and compassionate and explained everything they were going to do to try and save her life while being honest there would be no guarantees. The first vet tech that greeted us also explained the estimate so we would be aware of the high cost of treatment and gave us a timeline for expecting to hear back about X-rays. . Dr. Cassita called us a couple of times throughout the day to let us know how she was doing and was able to speak with us when we called to check on her. To our surprise she called to tell us if our dog held her own in a regular kennel for a couple hours she could go home that night rather than charge us to stay the night. When we got there the doctor was knee deep in patients so I expected a long wait. The vet tech Hannah brought our dog up front and explained the vet normally would do a discharge but where it was so busy she didn’t want us to have to wait. Hannah made sure we we understood the dog’s discharge instructions and said the vet would call if there was anything else we needed to know. Very happy to have my little girl back and that the staff showed more care and concern than my own vet who told us they were too booked to see a sick dog.

I only gave 1 star so I could comment, I really give them 0 stars. Talk about price gouging, the only nice thing about this place was the receptionist. They came in saying my 4 y.o. dog had pyometra and it would cost thousands of dollars. Once they realized we were having difficulty raising the funds they came in with a bill for $800.00 blood and xrays only then said she didn't have it and sent us home with antibiotic. Thank goodness for a kind soul who donated called to see how things went and was upset we were sent home not knowing 100% if she had pyometra. After another vet didn't even charge us because her WBC was 40,000 and he said she had it and called for us to get an ultrasound which they only charged 75.00 vs $475.00!!!!! We were sent immediately to AVC who immediately took action got her tests in and discussed admission and procedures needed asap. The very last thing was they would bring us an estimate which an xray only cost 117.00 vs. 475.00. Some blood tests were as low as 3.00 while 2 blood tests there were over 400.00. Something needs to happen to even the scales!! They are completely overcharging people and it's disgusting to even call them Vets....they are all about the money not the care of the animal or the family.

Reply from Animal Medical Center of New England
Dear Karen, First and foremost, we apologize for making you feel the way we did during an already stressful time for you. We hope your pet family member is doing better. Please know our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family during this difficult time. We understand the stress caused of not only having an ill pet family member but also the cost of 24-HR veterinary emergency care. As you know, a pyometra is a serious condition that requires surgery. We would do anything to take the burden of cost away from you and our clients. Unfortunately, the tremendous advancements made in veterinary medicine in recent years have all come with a cost. Not to mention that our emergency veterinarians and Board-Certified Specialists use the same equipment and medications as our human counterparts in caring for and treating our patients. We do offer several different financing options and we always try our best to work with you and your budget when it comes to the best course of treatment for your pet family member. We always offer the gold standard treatment option first and then work with you on what you feel is best and of course, what your pocket book will allow. Unlike our human medicine counterparts, we do not have the level of insurances supporting us in the practice of veterinary medicine. We are a 24-HR TrupanionExpress veterinary hospital and are able to immediately process pet family members Trupanion Pet Insurance claims should they be insured by Trupanon. (Trupanion covers 90% of unexpected, unbudgeted veterinary care bill and will support the veterinarian’s recommendation 100%). Thanks to Trupanion, we have been able to help more pets and save more pet lives as it takes away the burden of cost. We understand that despite our efforts to help you with cost, we fell short in your eyes. It sounds like we could have also communicated better with you. When you catch a free moment, could you call our manager: (603)-821-7222, Ext. 101 as we would like to personally apologize to you and see how make things right? Thank you very much & we look forward to speaking with you further. Kind Regards, Animal Medical Center of New England Staff

My 6 1/2 year old flat-coated retriever, Ruby, had a partial ACL tear. Dr. Zitz and the staff at AMCNE had Ruby evaluated quickly, spent the time with me that I needed to make the right decisions for her care and scheduled her quickly for her ACL repair. The care she got there was awesome and the hand-holding that I received to help manage her post-operative care and rehabilitation is so greatly appreciated. Ruby and I are so appreciative. She has had an uneventful recovery and we look forward to her upcoming summer beach walks.

I can't recommend Nashua Animal Hospital enough. We have used them for our dog, Reggie's veterinary care for about 8 years. We have always been very pleased with the service and care that they have provided for us. Recently, our dog needed to undergo an invasive and complicated surgery to remove a large, cancerous growth on his front leg. Dr. Julia Zitz and her Vet Tech, Renee and the staff on the Emergency side did a wonderful job; not only with the surgery, but all the post-op care as well. They made themselves available to answer questions, showed compassion toward Reggie and treated us like family. It's not easy to watch your pet go through this type of surgery. Yet the care given to us exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend this team to care for your pet.

My dog, who is a 100lb+ Lab, Rottweiler and German Shepherd mix, has needed to have 2 separate surgeries to repair torn tendons in his right and left rear legs. The surgeries were a year apart, and each time the professionalism, and work that was provided at AMCONE was exceptional. Dr. Zitz performed both surgeries, and she is friendly, caring, and perfecting in her surgeries. I cannot speak highly enough about her. My dog is not welcoming to other people, and yet the staff were able to bond with him, and provide care and comfort he accepted after both surgeries. I have used the services of AMCONE for over 10 years now, with all of my dogs, and not once have I ever been dissatisfied.

My dog has been a patient here since 2012 (her entire life) Animal Medical Center of Nashua is outstanding!!!! Dr. Zitz and Renee are the best. My dog had to have TTA surgery on October 11, 2018 and her surgeon was Dr. Zitz. Dr. Zitz is compassionate, caring and really took the time to explain the surgery in detail and she took the time to call me after the surgery to tell me how it went, etc. When I took my dog back for follow-up x-rays Dr. Zitz took the time to address a completely different concern. I was concerned about a lump on my dog's chest. Dr. Zitz grabbed a needle right then and there to draw fluids to see if it was just fatty tissue and thank god it was. This gave me total peace of mind. Renee (her vet tech) was so caring and she even shared her personal phone number with me and kept in contact with me throughout my dog's recovery. She is AWESOME! She even contacted me a few months later to see how my dog was! Previous to this surgery back in 2015 AMC also diagnosed my dog with luxating patella, at the time they did not have a surgeon and referred me to Angell Animal Medical Center in Jamaica Plain (where I rescued my dog) for surgery. They kept in contact with Angell and me throughout my dog's first surgery that they didn't even perform. To me that says something. AMC is where I will continue to take my dog for all of her medical needs. The staff is caring and compassionate and they take the time to explain things and answer all of my questions. I trust them with my dogs medical needs.

DON’T BRING YOUR DOG HERE!! These people are dishonest! They kept my dog for 5 hours, gave me no information, and did a terrible job on a simple procedure. After 5 hours I told them not to do it so I could take her somewhere else then they sedated her anyway and said I couldn’t have her back until after they stitched her. I had to threaten to call the police to get my dog back.

Marvelous experience. Charges absolutely affordable especially considering the complexity of the surgery. The entire experience was perfect from consultation to post-operative followup. High quality, excellent after care. My breed of dog requires very careful anesthesia because he is low body fat. The anesthesia and post surgery pain protocols were beautifully tailored to his breeds' needs. Followup - excellent. Dr. Reese corrected an incomplete surgery done by my regular vet. Three other veterinarians prior to her, reviewed his records and were afraid to do ia procedure due to the problem caused by this earlier surgery, Dr. Reese had one shot at getting it right. AND SHE DID !! He was alert, bright, and clearly his old self within 24 hours of this extensive long procedure. THANK YOU Dr. Reese, Tina, and Jamie who also assisted.

Props to their knowledge and excellent work, but they are manipulative, will lie without hesitation, and blacklist/not follow up with you if they want. They are all about the money - requiring half of their outrageous fees up front and the rest over the next couple of months rather than an actual payment plan. If you're not loaded, don't go here; they will ask you to relinquish your pet and then adopt them out to just anyone (except back to you), even when they said they "don't do adoptions here".

This place scares me from the pit of my stomach. My first experience was a couple of years ago. The "surgical repair" had to be repaired again. They overdosed my dog's prescription. This time, I brought my 2 year old Golden mix in; he had been attacked by another dog. He was bleeding profusely. They put me in room by myself. No one kept me in the loop. I was a mess. After I wandered in the back to see what was going on, I was reprimanded by the vet. My spouse showed up while they were asking questions about the other dog. He told them he had the name of the owner. He went home, called it in to me only to have them tell me that "they don't get involved." WAIT! I didn't ask them to get involved! They asked ME for the information! When the vet finally got to me, I told him I didn't think the left hand knew what the right hand was doing. He agreed. :-( In addition, while I was waiting, I had to endure listening to the receptionist on the other side of the door pontificate about how great pit bulls are to another customer (my dog was just attacked by a pit bull...btw I'm not judging pits...I love them...this was just a terrible accident). Nonetheless, show some sensitivity. To top it off, I paid $40 for them to bandage my dog's ear. The bandage was a monstrosity. It looked like it weighed about 5 lbs, about 6" long. I had no choice but to go there because my dog was bleeding profusely. If given a choice, I would have gone to Manchester. In years past, I've even had another vet tell me that he will not refer to this hospital. That's telling.
