Agave Pediatrics

I hesitated writing this review due to the fact this was my first and only experience here but when it comes down to my daughter’s health I’ve decided that this practice doesn’t deserve the benefit of doubt. This was our first time here for my 2.5 month old baby. It was previously scheduled as a “well” visit and unfortunately my husband & I caught COVID right before this appointment. I called to let them know and they wanted to reschedule which first available was March. I wasn’t happy with that and had to continually push that my baby girl has been exposed to the virus and would like her to still be able to come in. Once meeting with the doctor and explaining our situation she told me this was a “well” visit and that she won’t do anything about her having the virus unless I wanted to change it to a “sick” visit. In that case, I would be charged differently and none of the “well” visit things would be done. I asked her if we could just do both since we were already there and the answer was no. Unfortunately this is the problem with our healthcare system, it’s ran by insurance codes versus caring for the patient. I guess it was my misunderstanding that a provider for children would have their best interest at heart versus how they are going to chart the visit to get paid. I have a follow up visit so maybe my opinion of this practice will change and if so I will revise my review. But until then, very disappointed and not okay with how this practice is ran.

I was so excited to meet this pediatrician after the first friendly call but after three separate attempts just to make the introductory zoom meeting (which I was told might not be private), on the FOURTH business day I finally got a call back. Unfortunately I missed it and the voicemail simply directed me back to the main number. The main number extension will occasionally drop your call if no one answers. Once I finally heard a human with was solely "Please hold." before being placed on hold without waiting for any acknowledgement from me. After ten minutes on hold without coming back, I was done. I'm not going to want to deal with all these hoops when I've got a sick baby. Best of luck getting an appointment! I can't speak to the quality of the doctors on staff but they certainly need better front line service.

Ride front office staff. Cancelled my son’s appointment without contacting me first so we arrived and weren’t on the schedule. Requested appointments for nearly 4 week up to this point too. Couldn’t be worse service. Avoid at all costs.

If you're not already an established patient, don't expect a call back to schedule an appointment. I have been told several times now that "Tina" would call me back to schedule an appointment. It has been 2 almost 3 weeks and still waiting to hear from " Tina". I was told by the last person to take my message that I wasn't the only one in this situation.

I used to like them a lot. Now I just realize they're out for your money. Was offered steroids the day before for my kid's cough to which I figured wasn't bad enough yet. Today it is bad to the point where she can't breathe and she's throwing up so I call them asking for that prescription to which their response is to make another appointment (which is totally booked out). How could you let a child suffer like that in good conscience knowing you just offered her treatment for it yesterday and then refuse to treat unless you see her (and then can't even see her!) Unethical practices here. That was the last time I go there. Stay away

Cute office. My last visit the reception staff was nice. Nurses and Doctors can be friendlier, the wait in the doctor’s office was almost unbearable. I’ve never been helped on time at this place. I’ve taken my daughter to two other Pediatric doctors that are very accommodating with setting up alternative vax schedules. Maybe it’s just me but from the beginning there was a judgmental aura and my last interaction with Agave I decided that I’m done with them.

A couple of the providers in this office are absolutely wonderful. But the few that aren’t great really made it a terrible experience for us. They had no compassion for sick kids and no ability to communicate with parents in an appropriate manner, or come up with a treatment plan. Would recommend finding a different office with more empathetic staff.

Drs are all very nice and are great at taking care of my daughter when she needs it.

Very disappointed with our last appointment. I've been taking my daughter to Agave Pediatrics for 10+ years. The waiting time was over 50 min. The front desk was very rude and no one apologized for this scheduling mess. Diane Smith was very sweet once she made it to the appointment.

The office manager was rude. We have been going here for 7 months and will not be back.

We are treated in with the sweetest professionalism Every time we visit. All stellar, from the front desk to billing. We love our doctors, nurses and techs, we couldn't be happier with Agave!

I absolutely love this office. We’ve been going for 10 years now and we love them! Britta is the absolute best doctor there. And of course dr argawal !

We have been coming to Agave Pediatrics since we move to Arizona 6 years ago. Everyone there is super friendly! We are always seen in a timely manner and feel valued when seen by any of the doctors. I highly recommend Agave Pediatrics North!

I am disappointed with how I was treated by a receptionist today. My son had an appointment at 4:15 because he had a fever and was not feeling good. He ending up falling asleep from being so exhausted. I tried to wake him up to take him to the appointment but he cried and said he just wanted to sleep. I called the office to see if they had a later time or the following morning. The receptionist said if you cancel you have to pay a fee. That is not the way you handle a situation like that with a sick child. No compassion at all. Sounds like a lack of common sense. When I confronted her at the desk all she kept saying was its company policy!

We been with Dr. Argwal and Dr. Lombard since the children were babies and we have always received great care.

To many patients. MA repeated himself to much. Caused a 15 minute appointment to be an hour after spending an hour and a half in waiting room. Which was after they canceled our previous appointment on the day of. Pretty office. Dr Jones gets 5 Stars from our first visit but the rest of the experience was not great.

We were worried about having to find a new provider for our children, but after coming to Agave Pediatrics for over a year now we don't even remember our last doctor. The care that we have received has been above and beyond what is usually expected. Thank you Dr. Lombard and Dr. M. Jones. We recommend your practice to everyone.

Providers are good, but front desk, including phone answering makes me want to change practice. 1 more experience like today & I will find a new provider

I love the deer valley location. I have never had a negative experience there and will continue to go there. The Chauncey road location is horrible. I was scheduled there for and 8:30 appointment. After getting my near 3 year old on board to see the Dr (who h is no easy feat) we arrived in the office at 8:29. We signed in and waited our turn. 5 mins later I was told I was more than 15 mins late and would have to be worked in. I still do not understand how I was late but needless to say. We will not return to that ridiculous location that doesn't understand how to read a clock.

AMAZING. We were referred to Agave for a tongue tie revision and they were so caring and accommodating. Their office is beautiful and the staff is superb. I would switch to them as our full time pediatrician except they have antivaxxers grandfathered into their practice which is a disappointment and a deal breaker for us. The tongue/lip tie revision was easy and made an enormous difference for my child. Thank you Agave!

Everyone was incredible polite and showed great compassion to me and my child. The Nurse practitioner explained how the procedure was going to go, and everything I was going to have to after the procedure and what needed to be done until the follow up appointment.

While I appreciate the quality of care at this office, they are terrible with the wait times. I have had at least 6 appointments here and not once have we been seen on time. We wait anywhere from 30-50 minutes to be seen. No one explains or apologizes unless I bring it up. What is the point of having an appointment if you aren’t seen at that time. Stop overbooking patients, makes it look like all the office cares about is billing insurance companies as much as possible.

Dr Agarwal is absolutely wonderful! He has released two of my children’s tongue and lip ties and I would not recommend anyone else to do the job!

I called to make a new patient appointment, as we are new to town and needed it for our daughter to attend school. I spent 15 minutes giving all my child’s info, insurance info, etc. She was a very nice woman who scheduled an appointment for the next day (a Friday). Half an hour later I got a call from her than the PA, Cindy, wasn’t happy with her scheduling us at that time, but we could drive an extra 20 minutes to a different office (instead of the one literally two miles from our home). When I said that wasn’t an option, I was told we couldn’t be able to be seen for three weeks—yes, three weeks because your physician’s assistant didn’t like her bookings. Seriously? So yeah, one star for Agave. Screw you guys for lack of professionalism. Don’t bother bringing your children here. I hung up frustrated and definitely feeling undervalued as a patient until I called Pediatrix. They got me in at the same time at their location equally close and were on time and pleasant with our appointment. Out of having four kids over 23 years I’ve never had such an experience. Glad they weeded themselves out for me!

We have had a great experience with Agave. Our daughter came 3 months early @ 27 weeks and they have helped us stay on top of her care and medical needs. They have gotten us an appointment same day or next day when we are concerned about her health. They take time with their clients and answer questions.

The facility is clean, extremely professional and I love that they have multiple locations. If you are in need of seeing the physician they will get your child in. The staff is helpful and make my kiddos very comfortable. Love this pediatrician

I love agave pediatrics. Dr Laurie Jones is incredible. She is knowledgeable, attentive and gives great medical care. She is also a board certified lactation consultant and she is amazingly helpful with learning to feed your newborn. I wish I would have had her as a doctor for my firstborn but when I went in for my two day old check up she helped to teach me to breastfeed in a way that would be easy for me anywhere I went with my baby. I highly recommend her as your child's pediatrician. She is by far and wide one of the best doctors I have ever met.

As a new mother I was very pleased with the care I received from the PA Kevin. He took his time and reassured me that everything I was doing and everything my daughter was going through was normal. (Who knew bright yellow poop and those sneezes where normal? How do you differentiate spit up from throw up?) Kevin put my worries at ease. After my daughter had about half dozen fevers due to a stubborn ear infection, he recommended us to an ENT doctor and after we got her tubes, she was fever free and started walking and talking more. I have seen several other physicians at Agave and they are all wonderful, but I feel that Kevin has gone above and beyond to make taking an infant to the doctor’s office a not so scary experience. You can’t go wrong with any of the doctors at Agave, they are all great, but I now have a son and Kevin is our physician of choice when we go to Agave.

Always clean. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Fun zoo theme. No complaints and I’ve been going to them for years

Had a great experience here with my children. Torrie was amazing and very helpful. They were informative and fast. I appreciate all the help and I definitely will be back.

I love Agave! Everyone is always absolutley amazing. I drive out of my way so my kids can continue to see Damarra.

I have loved agave! They are always so friendly and willing to work my day and times. Also the offices are so much fun! My kids get so excited to go to the doctor!

We have consistently had very positive visits. Dr. Agarwal and his team are amazing! We had two tongue-tie procedures done. Both procedures went well and I was blessed by the care my son received. I highly recommend Dr. Agarwal!

We moved to Anthem in 2010 and found Dr Yip almost immediately. I was delighted to find out that he was friends from UT Southwestern with our beloved pediatrician from Texas. Our six kids saw Dr Yip for the next 9 years, until we moved back to Texas. We even continued to drive back up to Anthem for pediatrics once we moved down into town for six years! I simply could not find another pediatrician I liked as well. He is a wonderfully competent and caring physician, with absolute integrity. He was always respectful of me and my choices for our kids and was also great at explaining things in depth. He always took lots of time with each one of them and his bedside manner is wonderful. My kids always looked forward to going to see him and we will all miss him a lot.

Absolutely love going there for my children.

Not interested in going to the North Location Ever Again!!!

I have been coming to Agave pediatrics now for over 2 years, with my daughter and son. I have always been worked in for sick visits when I needed them. All of the providers we have seen are excellent . We used the tongue tie department for both kids as well. The Deer Valley location is my primary location, and all of the staff are excellent. I highly recommend Agave Pediatrics!

Dr. Agarwal is amazing and so is Dr. Lombard and Miss Diane. They're all so knowledgeable and sweet. Miss Diane is especially great with newborns. She caught my son's tongue tie within 5 minutes and was on top of both of my sons jaundice. She called the second she got the blood work in and you can tell she truly cares. I have had nothing but great experiences with all of the staff.

Dr.A is wonderful. He diagnosed and revised my sons tongue tie that was creating huge speech and dietary issues. He is highly knowledgeable in his field. He makes you feel safe knowing your child is in good care. I highly recommend him.

The front office is not friendly or helpful. I went here for a tongue-tie procedure and it made me so appreciative of my pediatrician and her office staff. Dr. Agarwal is fine, but abrupt. Communication is awful... They made me believe I would be seeing Dr. Agarwal for the consultation, but it was a nurse practitioner, an hour away from me, when their other office is 15 minutes away from me. Scheduling a follow-up was a nightmare because I could never reach Tammy Jo and other office staff refused to help me. The lactation consultant they offer was worthless and her personality was condescending and unlikeable. If you have to do a revision, you might have to go here for the experience and equipment, but be warned, it's an experience you'll be happy to leave behind you.

We have always had a positive experience with this office. The amazing decor is like walking into a different world. The staff is friendly and professional, and the NP/PA/MDs are all great. There is also very good continuity of care. We highly recommend!

I appreciated my kids doctor's attention, the efficiency in which they were able to deliver the results of the medical exams. It's just the overall attention. They are very professional and efficient.

I really love the Deer Valley office. I haven’t been to the other locations but the staff/manager/drs/nurses are always so helpful and my kids love them. Anytime there’s an issue or concern they’re very helpful and they your child’s best interest at heart.

I won't mince words...the Thomas Rd and Scottsdale office screwed up so often and so consistently it's basically the United Airlines of medical offices. They lost speech referrals for my daughter TWICE. We had to call them twice a week for a month before something was done and we could schedule with a specialist. The "medical professionals" didnt take our concerns for autism seriously and never interacted with our child. Go elsewhere if you can!

This place is honestly so great! I bring my kiddos here, and they work with families who have concerns with vaccinations and do a great job making you feel heard, understood and give you plenty of great information. Love them!

I’ve always had a great experience with their Chandler office! They are amazing with our girls.

I absolutely LOVE Dr.Argawal! He performed my sons tongue tie procedure in 2016 and he’s been our pediatrician ever since! The office staff is lovely and the waiting room is always clean. Their themed hallways are a really nice touch and my son loves seeing the different decorations. I highly recommend and would give 10 stars if I could

We love every doctor and physician assistant we have seen! They are very thorough and always take time to answer any questions or concerns without making us feel rushed. It is always a long wait at the office though, which I don’t appreciate with two little ones.

Agave pediatrics has an amazing team with a large staff which makes all more convinient when a child gets ill.

Dr Agarwal and his staff are the best! We have taken all three of our kids to see him and trust him wholeheartedly. He takes his time with each patient and answers questions without judgment. We always schedule well visits with him, but we have seen several other providers in his office over the years when we need to be seen for something right away and we have been pleased with everyone we have seen!

We love Dr. Thomas as well as several other doctors, nurses and PA's there!

I really like a couple of the Doctors here but unfortunately, the staff has sealed their fate with me. More specifically the "office manager" Ruben. I should have run the other way when they messed up my very first appointment making me run across town during rush hour so my premature baby could be seen within the two day period of leaving the hospital. They failed to schedule his appointment so I had to go to a different location. Since then, they have messed up probably 3 of my appointments in a similar manner. When I finally did ask to speak to the manager, he went on and on and on repeating the same scripted response probably 5 times within our 2 minute conversation and refused to be held accountable for their mess up. He was super unprofessional and condescending and I've had enough with this office. By the way, check their Yelp reviews and you will see that I am not alone when it comes to my feelings towards the office staff.

I love love love my sons dr. Lombard! She is awesome and I’ve seen other providers and loved them too! Because their honest with me! They give me all my options not what’s best for them or what they think is best; they provide there opinions and they’re reasoning! Which allows me to make the best choice for my child! BUT Dr.Jones dropped the ball on my child. When I come in saying this has been a reoccurring issue give me all my options, not your option! And DO NOT make me feel bad for being concerned! Do not say here’s the fix your child needs but wait till it gets worse ie wait for a fever, or for him to have another ear infection even thou the one he has now has been for weeks! Even on the antibiotics then to be told oh it’s clearing up and then end up in the office 5 days later with his ear infection even worse.... mixed with scheduling with this office I’m kinda at my wits end! I wanna stay for dr.lumbard but I fear for my child if I do!
