We had a pretty good experience. In the five years we've been taking our sons, I felt like we rarely saw the same people. There are a lot of screens, which parents may take as a good or bad thing. The biggest reason why I gave three stars is the amount of paperwork. There is so much, especially if you're bringing multiple children, that you are literally filling out paperwork the whole time, even during the exam, when I wish I could have been giving my attention to my children. This alone was very stressful. I wish they had an online, ahead of time registration, and/or linked the contact information for each child without me having to duplicate the same info over and over. Plus sides: everyone is friendly, was great with my kids, and my boys loved the toy surprises at the end.
Currently searching for a new pediatric dentist
Took my son here and the dentist made me feel like a terrible parent for my son having cavities. I'm sorry but I'm a parent, I feel guilty enough I don't need judgment from others. Then they had a terrible time forcing my 3 year old to stay still for x-rays like it's his fault he can't sit still. It was traumatizing and they didn't comfort him at all. Then when we needed to get a procedure done, he had to drink this special juice and the lady forced it at him, he refused to drink it and when I tried to have him drink it, she told me to give up after 30 seconds and said we'd have to schedule an iv sedation instead. So I went to schedule that, and it's been 3 months and everytime I call they say they will call me to schedule. I found a different place. They are terrible.
Carolina Dental Doc is the best! Had previously visited other dentist, had my daughter crying and hating to go. But this office is the best! My daughter loves it! Nice professional staff. Clean environment, and punctual I would recommend them to everyone. Thank you Carolina Dental Docs.
Everyone was amazing as usual! Wouldn't bring my son anywhere else. Thank you for the great service!
They gave my sister too much anesthesia, she’s completely brain washed rn has no idea what she’s doing and is so confused plus she can’t move much she’s weak, a 4 year old shouldn’t have to go thru that.
We are very thankful to have found this office. Everyone is very nice and the office is very clean. They play movies and the staff sings along. The ladies up front are very nice, professional and love playing with the children. The clinical team is top notch and really take their time. They are patient with the children and make it fun! It is very easy to get an appointment. Greatful to have this office for the kids. Thank you Carolina Dental Docs!
I would love this office if the front desk receptionist wasn't so rude. They said one bad apple spoils the bunch, well she is just that the BAD APPLE! They don't keep up with their records and that's a major red flag. I would rather take my chances finding a new dentist for my daughter than step foot in this establishment. I wish i had her name but she is the one that usually sits at the far left of the desk the checkout part!
The entire staff there were very friendly, the lobby is welcoming and the facility is very clean. All Covid protocols were followed. Greatest dentist I’ve been to. Will definitely make this office our new provider after my experience and being referred by a family friend. Amazing people there! Thank you all for your work and professionalism.
Avoid like the plague!!! This dentist office does not understand how customer service works and makes you feel bad for your children’s dental issues.
Visited this Facility and was impressed with the customer service I received. The office manager and her assistant made me feel like I was family. I would recommend this facility to anyone. Thank you for making us feel so comfortable.
Please avoid this place! I 100% do not recommend. Our last dentist dropped our insurance so we have been on the hunt to find a new pediatric dentist for the kids. My son (age 5) complained of a tooth hurting so we decided to try Carolina Dental Docs out. My husband went with my son to the appointment and it sounded like everything went fine. He had one tooth that had a cavity and it was bad enough they scheduled him for a cap. While filling out paper work to get his cap I noticed there was a page for me to give permission to restrain him. I told them I was not comfortable with that and they said if I didn't sign it they would refuse to do the procedure. They also wanted to give him a drink that would make him groggy but help him "forget" everything. I told them I was not comfortable with that either and that he has done very well just getting the shot that numbs the area they are working on. (He had to have 3 cavities filled at our old dentist when he was two and was so well behaved they were able to fill all three in one sitting.) They said they had a terrible job getting X-rays last time he was there and so they had to use the medicine or the drink or they would not do the procedure. I called my husband after I had finished filling out paperwork and asked about the X-rays. My husband said he had been with my son the whole time during the X-ray and he didn't make a peep and the tech didn't say a word to my son or my husband about needing to do anything different than what he was doing. I was able to go back and see where they were doing the procedure and they have all the windows to the rooms covered with black cloth so you can't see what is going on. They also will not let you stay with your child while they are getting work done. While I was waiting in the waiting room I could hear a child screaming out. A few minutes later I realized I was the only one in the waiting room and it was my son!!! I didn't even recognize him he was screaming so badly. He has never screamed like that before in his life! (and he's had his arm broken, set and cast before.) The dentist came out a few minutes later and told me it had gone well. That my son had been mad but most kids usually are. They then wheeled him out waist tied in the wheel chair. My sons face was swollen from crying. I asked him if he had been the one screaming and he said yes. I told him I had never heard him scream like that before and he told me he had never felt that much pain. When we were in the car I asked him what happened and he told me they had tied up his waist, then feet, then his wrists. He said they drilled his tooth and he could feel everything! My heart was broken. I sobbed all the way home. I had signed papers saying they could do this to my child because he had been in so much pain I was scared it would take us weeks to find a new dentist. If I knew then what I know now I never would have taken him to this place. I have canceled my other two children's appointments for next month and have already warned multiple people to stay away. I don't understand dentist that don't allow parents at least a window to look in to check on their child or dentist that don't try the least extreme way to treat a child first before restraining them and drilling their teeth. My son had never resisted them, screamed at them, or told them no. He did everything they asked at his first appointment and they still restrained him. The more research I have done this weekend the more I realize what they did is so so wrong. I also reached out to other moms to see if this is standard procedure for a child getting a cap and they all said run far away. There are so many red flags at this place. If any moms are looking for a dentist for their children please look somewhere else.
My child loves all the staff they are all ways smiling and good with the kids she has autisom and is not scarred to go back by her self like at her last dentist she is 14 now she all ways lives thare with clean teath and a bag of gooddies I would recommend thim to anyone
We have been here a total of two times. The first visit went well, everyone was nice and kid friendly. The 2nd visit not so good. Soon as we get there an employee is crying and the same employee was the one who saw my child. She wasn’t kid friendly and this may have had something to do with why she was crying, but doors open at 8. Put your work face on. Of course my child cried. Typical 1 year old. She didn’t try smiling at him for any kinda reassurance. It was just not a good experience today. I asked her questions she just act like I was getting on her nerves basically she should have just stayed home. I hope her day gets better or she gets a day off. We have another visit soon, maybe that day will be better.
Horrible place to go. You can’t go back with your child when they are having a tooth pulled. She is only 7. Not acceptable. My other child has a different dentist and I am able to go back and sit in the waiting room by him.
Very rude staff!
Wonderful office. Very clean and friendly. Colleen the hygienist is amazing. She is very sweet and makes sure the kids are comfortable. Highly recommend.
Carolina Dental Docs is the greatest place to take you children. My children look forward to seeing their friend, Colleen, who is the most caring, funniest hygienist they evrer had.
This is a very friendly office. Denise is really good and patient, super gentle and good at making patient feel comfortable.
All three of my children go here and we have had nothing but positive experiences every time we have come. Stephanie was so informative, quick and polite. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone with children.
My kids love coming to see the Dentist and staff. Super friendly from the girls up front, to the staff in the back. They explain every treatment my kids will have. I definitely recommend this dental office to friends and family!!
I take my 3 boys to Carolina Dental Docs, everyone there is super friendly and professional. I definitely recommend this office to everyone!!
Carolina Dental Docs is clean, efficient, and friendly. We never wait longer than five minutes and the entire staff is super kind and helpful. The dental hygienists and dentists are great with kids. Since his last appointment, my four year old (who was anxious leading up to his last appointment) has asked if we can go back almost every afternoon. At each appointment I can trust that his dental health is taken care of along with his social-emotional needs met.
Would definitely NOT recommend... management is very rude!
I do not recommend this place at all! My kids have been coming for a few years now and it was great when Dr. Thompson and GiGi were there. Well today my kids had appointments so we drove the 46 minute drive only to be turned away once we got there due to us not having mask with us and then being a medical office did not have a mask to give us! Fine we left but I went back in to get my daughter a school note bc she missed school for this appointment and we were indeed there! Well the lady says “No we did not see them” so I said I wasn’t leaving until they gave my daughter a school note so she threatened to call the cops on me. I then asked to speak to a manager and she said I am the manager but refused to give her name! The dentist walked out with me and he obviously didn’t handle the situation! We left without a school note and my kids will never go back to this place and I would recommend going elsewhere! If anyone wants to see the video of how rude this woman was I will be more than happy to share it! Maybe I will take it to news channel 7 and be a total Karen ??♀️??♀️??♀️??♀️
The rudeness is unreal. Would definitely NOT recommend.
Since moving here from Florida this is the best dentist office ever! Staff was super friendly they made my 7 year daughter very comfortable, and was treated like a princess she is. Thank you so much for the lovely experience! ?
Staff is friendly and professional. My kids look forward to going to the dentist!
My daughter was fine and they decided to put a crown on her two teeth now my daughter cries for everything she eats and her crown has fallen off twice, she cried so much the day they put that crown on her and every time we come there my heart breaks bc she cry, I don't know what to do,I should never have been anything done to her mouth she’s just 3 years old. Her mouth is swollen all the time
Friendly Staff ! So nice to my daughter and I . Definitely will be here denstist untill she is to old to go there anymore .
Friendly staff. Made my children comfortable and were quick and efficient. One of the assistant's even cleaned my 3 year old's toy dinosaurs teeth with all her gadgets and it made his day!
spectacular service from the moment you enter. they are amazing people. They are very affectionate with children. I loved
They are phenomenal I have 2 toddlers 18 mths apart that fight me tooth and nail when it comes to their teeth cleaning ‼️ The professionals here know the right tone to use, how to get my toddlers to respond and the environment is ALWAYS warm and welcoming. We will continue to be patients here for many years to come.
The manager needs to be taught how to handle various situation especially working in a pediatric office. I received a call Friday to reschedule my son appt and they said they would be sending paper work through emails. His appointment was scheduled for 9am and when they Got there they rudely said it was at 830am and to wait to see if they could be seen. I then called the manager and she was the rudest person ever. She said his appt was at 830am and I’m not doing this today. Do you want him to be seen or what do you want. With the same tone that she used with me, I then said go ahead and see him today but he will not be coming back. Shortly after my mother called and said that the manager had said my son would not be seen and then proceeded to call another patient to come in.All this was done with a smirk on this women’s face and in front of my mother and child so they could see that he would not be seen all because I called to complain. As they walked out the women laughed. My son left crying from this office all because of the way this women treated them. I immediately got on the phone and gave her a piece of my mind. It may have been wrong on my part but hearing my son cry over this rude women mad me so angry. Working in the same field and managing an office I would have never been rude like that women was to my son since the beginning. My son will never go back to this office and hopefully the Dr she works for and corporate sees this to see what kind of disrespectful and rude women he has working for them. If she did this time I wonder how many times she has done it before.
I brought my son in for a visit he was really scared. The dental hygienist Adrienne Harris was awesome with him through the process.
I absolutely loved my experience with Ms.Adrienne she was very friendly , informative and very knowledgeable of her job. One of the best cleanings that I have had in a while . Thank you:)
Great experience! Joy provided an excellent dental service. She’s absolutely amazing. Would recommend to anyone :)
My daughters first time at the dentist was last Tuesday, we called and got a appointment that same day. Dr. Farrow was very nice & helpful, listened to my concerns with my daughters teeth and explained the treatment very well. They talked to my daughter to tell her everything they was doing & we just went back today to get some teeth capped. We was in and out within a hour and on our way home. My youngest daughter who hasn’t even seen the dentist at all got a prize when her sister did. ❤️ Shanna Garner & Ryleigh Smith.
Didn't realize office was closed and didn't open til our appt time at 130. Appt service texted us to get there at 1 but thank God I was running late. Didn't get there til 1:15 There was a wait b4 they opened & after . Had to get my daughter from school early in the middle of her lunch to not see the doctor until a hr after our appt. Despite of the lengthy wait time, the staff was pretty friendly and personable. Definitely turned that negative into a positive for sure.
This is the most amazing place I’ve brought my son. They staff is EXCELLENT!
Such a calm environment! Everyone is so friendly and so good. My son is autistic and they take their time with everything they do with him. They are the best.
My children love going here. They always greet you at the door, and are very nice and professional. We went in today and was out in a jiff and I have three children that where seen at once. Thank you all so much. Mrs. Kay Jacobs.
After a few really horrible experiences at other offices, I am over the moon about Carolina Dental Docs!! My son loves it there. He can’t wait to go back. They have a really cool room the kids can hang out in while waiting. My son called it the movie theater. I would recommend Carolina Dental Docs to any and everyone!! Savannah Parker
This dentist office is the best I have been to yet! I love the fact that they have glass doors that you can look and see what is happening while your children are receiving treatment. The staff are friendly and very helpful to the best of their ability!
Friendly hygienist and doctors; my sons enjoy coming to the dentist!
My oldest son has sensory issues. He needed impressions done of his teeth (putting a play doh like putty in his mouth) for a retainer, but had a huge anxiety attack in the chair and the dentist wasn't able to complete them. We rescheduled for two weeks out, and the dental assistant (Christine) gave me a bag of the putty so he could practice at home and get used to the texture. That alone was so sweet of her. We came back two weeks later, and Christine came out and surprised us by saying the orthodontist has agreed to take scans of his teeth with their equipment so my son doesn't haven't to go through the stress of the impressions again. She went ABOVE and beyond for my kid. I wasn't expecting them to agree to this, but the orthodontist was happy to and even took the time to show him all the equipment so he understood the process. I sat there holding back tears because I was so grateful for them all taking the extra time to make sure my son was comfortable. There are quite a few options for ped dentists in this area, but I would never switch anywhere else. The staff is all around kind and understanding.
We loved Doctor Thompson. We’ve had several bad experiences at other locations. The staff at Carolina dental docs was very friendly and respected all my wishes about my children’s dental care. We are so glad we found this office!
They are extremely friendly and they are going to give my son a reason to smile ❤️❤️❤️
Switched insurance and had to switch Dentists as well. My daughter has anxiety with Dentist and they made her feel so comfortable. I would highly recommend this Dental provider to other parents.
Love Dr. Thompson! He makes my 8 year old feel comfortable and excited to come to the dentist! GyGy is always welcoming and friendly as soon as we walk in the door! Highly recommend this office!
I bring my kids to Carolina Dental Docs and it is always a great experience from GyGy at the front, Edith & Kelly for the cleanings to Christie, Dr Martha and Dr Thompson who complete dental treatment in the back! I highly recommend Carolina Dental Docs!
Just switched from North Grove Pediatric Dentist and I'm so THANKFUL that I did. The staff is so friendly. The dentist was friendly and welcoming. They treated my children like they actually had feelings and not like just another patient. They got one on one care. Explained everything in detail. Will definitley be bringing my babies here for a long time. Did I mention the staff... from the front desk to the back were EXCEPTIONAL...office very clean also. A+++ ALL AROUND
We absolutely love Dr Thompson! My 16 year old is terrified of the drill. Dr Thompson was very gentle with her and assuring. He took the necessary time to talk her through it. And now when we come back for cleanings, he kids around with her about it.
Always welcoming ?
Not quite 5 stars due to the technician /assistant being rude and very mean to my child. I will not allow that. On a positive note Dr. Thompson was great and I appreciate his professionalism. My children look forward to seeing him on their next visit. Thank you Dr. Thompson.
the office atmosphere is amazing. My son loves the dentist and hygienist. They are patient and always walk us thru the areas we need to focus on. Love the office and the assistants!
I love it! I changed my kids primary dentist to Carolina dental docs and couldn't be more satisfied with the change. The dentist is patient and very kind to the children. My kids love him. The staff is friendly and adrress my children by their names. They always keep the child's well being in mind and are very conscious about trying not to cause the child to be afraid to come to the dentist.
My children visited this office and they didn't want to leave. The dentist was very funny and took the time to engage with my children and explain to me any treatment my children needed. He even took the time to pull up x-rays and explain to me why they needed that treatment. The staff there are very friendly toward me and my children.
