I went there for my daughter who was sick and they made us wait over an hour+ with a crying child in the lobby. My daughter CLEARLY TOLD THEM she had a headache, A SORE THROAT, and a stomach ache. They were so quickly to want it to be COVID related that they disregard all her other symptoms. Despite the fact that my daughter was tested positive for COVID -They said all they wanted me to do was administer ibuprofen and Tylenol/Motrin. They sent me home and two days later my daughter had to come back because her throat had pus inside of it - she also had tonsillitis. They failed to check her throat hereby making me wait another 5-6 hours in the hospital for help. I work from home and I cannot believe the incompetence care we received. I would like to be followed up with this on because if not, I WILL be launching a lawsuit and an inquiry as to the medical staff working that day for negligence and improper care.

I'll never forget watching my son's temp spike under the hat lamps in the Nicu while the nurse was gabbing. I shouldn't have to do your job.

They misdiagnosed my 19 month old granddaughter. They didn't run any tests or did anything for days. They said she would wake up after a couple of days. If she would have gotten what they finally gave her after it was too late, she would of been here yet. She died in my daughter's arms. This was at children's hospital in minneapolis.

I am still sitting in the ER more than 6 hours now only to find out they will not put a cast on my son’s broken hand…….because they don’t have staff to do it. So we have sat after X-rays for more then 2 hours waiting for a splint so I can go to his doctor and get a cast….. as long as the hand is not to swollen. Still we sit and wait……. Come to find out they will not put a cast on someone who is older than 15

This place used to be nice lately things have gone down hill. My daughter has unfortunately had multiple surgeries in her life and has been here several times. Every time she was here in the past everyone was great, nice, and so helpful. Last time she was here the summer of 2021 I practically had to beg the nurses to take care of my child. I could not get them to bathe her and change bandages I had to do almost everything myself. If I am the one taking care of her what am I paying for in the hospital bill. Then she had to have another surgery recently and they were trying to force us to leave less then 48hours later we didn’t even get a chance to get all our questions answered. They badgered us until we left even though we felt uncomfortable leaving so soon after surgery and we told them that they continued sending multiple people in our room asking us are you going to go. Also once again I did pretty much all her cares the only thing they did was check her vitals every so often. Now I understand I am her parent and should take care of her but if I am paying literally thousands for hospital bills the nurses should be doing more care for their patients then that. I am sad to say I know people who work at children’s hospital and Abbott and they have told me stories especially with COVID patients that nurses sometimes will refuse to go in the room to help a patient. Sad that health care has gone down that much.

I was hospitalized here due to many seizures and many changing behaviors and after getting tested on to find out why they decided I was flat out insane and had severe anxiety and had me sent to a mental hospital and said I had severe anxiety.I spent an entire month in the place and Once My doctor got the results back I was able to finally leave, turns out I had AutoImmune enphalits(brain disease) this unfortunately scarred me and now this once favorite hospital is no longer liked by me. And to top it off, half of the nurses weren’t even kind to me despite my condition. they were rude and talked behind my back a lot, whenever I needed assistance some of them would scoff at me.

The most inefficient emergency room experience I have ever had. I cannot believe what I witnessed. Families comforting their sick kids for 4+ hours. I completely understand the staffing issues that are happening but there is also much that could have been done to triage as well as update parents so they know what to expect in terms of wait times. I waited with my 1 yo for 4+ hours and never saw a physician. My son had one test done (COVID,RSV, pneumonia-swab) and after the 4+ hours I had to go ask the desk checking patients in to please please tell me the results. I eventually had to just leave. I cannot imagine if someone needed real attention. They would not get it here, the ability to assess each patient was not where it should be. If the staffing shortage is this serious, communicate to your patients or suggest they go elsewhere to ensure they receive the care they need.

I had absolutely wonderful experiences with them in the past back in 2015 and 2017 but now in 2021 ??‍♀️ I worry I cry I’m loosing my trust and faith in this facility moment by moment. I have now on 3 separate occasions in less than a 2 week time had a heated conversation with the doctors in regards to my children being in the NICU. The nurses they have had are absolutely wonderful the social worker amazing. But the blatant disregard for my families request in regards to my children especially on how to update us is ridiculous. I shouldn’t have to argue with anyone to have our request be acknowledged and respected and for my children’s rights to be respected as well. I’m starting to worry about the safety of my babies and all the babies being cared for on these units if this is the treatment we are being met with when we ask for proper respectful communication.

So I took my daughter here and we had a VERY LONG DAY and my older daughter was with us. We were there for pre op and at the end of everything we were just waiting for lab results so the nurses asked us to wait at the Ronald McDonald’s house so we went and got kicked out because my daughter was considered a patient…. I want to put in a complaint I didn’t know that could happen. Me and older daughter were just hungry and tired so we ended up walking away I had no energy to argue because I knew she was wrong.

BEWARE for your children's sake. All I can say was the ER was an absolute joke, when we arrived we were told a 3 hour wait at 7pm. Finally at 11pm we approached the counter to find that 5 more patients have been moved ahead of us. I understand priority but everyone that showed up before us had been seen and left and they continued to push us future back for new patients. We spoke with several other patients that waited 5-6 hours while their children sat there with fractured arms, respiratory issues of newborns, and one poor little guy that had an appendicitis. ER needs to increase their staffing and do better at time management. Also if it's gonna be hours, why not have a text system so you can leave and be notified when your roughly 30 minutes away from being seen. I'll never go back

The ER is the worst place to go to! We wait for hours and never was seen by a doctor. They wanted my 10 month old to not eat and drink and expect him to wait for hours. This hospital piss me off so bad I walk out! Do not ever take your child to this ER they do not care if you have a baby. Please get a new management for this hospital in the ER department!!!!!

Just a beware: because our pediatrician is located at this Children's location (adjacent to a hospital), we are charged a 'facility fee' of 200$ for each 20 minute appointment. The facility is just a regular office with a computer and an exam table, but because it's categorized as a hospital, it qualifies for the extra charge. 200 dollars for a 20 minute conversation, in ADDITION to the provider fee ($289 for 20 minutes) and any lab fees. I wish I had known, so I am sharing it here. We have no issues with our pediatrician herself, she is great. Unfortunately because of the above we're switching to a pediatrician located elsewhere. We're bummed about it but it feels like a scam.

Doctors are incapable of diagnosing PANDAS yet supposed to specialize in pediatric care. Told that my child needed brain surgery. My child needed antibiotics to fight off PANDAS not brain surgery, not a spinal tap, not all the other unnecessary procedures. Now Children's refers children with PANDAS to the University of Minnesota PANDAS clinic. However, that clinic has a 6 month waiting list.

If you are a person of color I would not personally recommend Er children hospital. I took my 2 years old son whom was having Asthma attack. When we were checking in the nurse who was checking us in demanded I put a mask on my two years old son. I explain to the nurse he is only two and he refuses to keep the mask on his face. She said he still had put the mask on, to diffuse the situation I attempted to put the mask on him which obviously he immediately took it off. The doctor was nice but the nurses was treating us so horrible. I felt dehumanize. Especially seeing how they were treating white patient across from us. The next time I had to take my soon to ER, I took him to fairview children hospital for the same reason asthma attack. I was treated like an actual human being.

I have contacted their billing department in past several months literally numerous time to stop charging me for the account which has already been paid in full but every month I'll see a new charge. HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! Every single time the "The Manager" say it has been taken care of and again I see the charge every month on my card. INCOMPETENT BILLING STAFF!!!

The doctors shouldn't be testing children for the virus without us parents permission that is not ok at all! They had no right going above us parents, most of the nurses were great but the fact they gave my son the virus test without my permission really really upset me they had no right what's so ever oh and btw he didnt have symptoms or anything and it came back negative so there was no need for it but like I said this hospital is lucky I dont sue for giving my under age son the test without my permission first! I am his parent not these so called doctors!

Hands down the best hospital and staff in the state of MN. I have been a patient here since I was 8 months old. I’ve had multiple surgeries through my life and every single one I’ve been here. I have never had a bad nurse or doctor. This is the place to be.

Our experience at Minneapolis Children’s hospital was over the top. We were only there for a couple days but if I could rate it more than 5 stars I would. During the surgery, we were called by a nurse every hour to update us which I enjoyed. They have individual waiting rooms or wide open as well as a snack/pop machines and a coffee maker. During the hospital stay, the nurses were super nice and as well at the surgeons. They were very informative. The nurses were so good at making sure baby was comfortable and that he was staying healthy. I was honestly quite sad to leave because they made us feel like “not just another patient” they actually took us under their wing and made us feel as though we belong.

I felt so good bringing my daughter there from the first moment we arrived. I was afraid she would be scared, but we were met with friendly faces and she was comforted by the movie playing in the waiting area. (And having movies accessible in our patient room was a game changer - she was relaxed and distracted from the unfamiliar situation.) From the triage nurse to the second nurse we met and the NP who treated her - everyone was awesome. Friendly, professional and just amazing with kids. One nurse even sent us home with a little plastic water syringe to play with in the bathtub! I also appreciated that they called the phone in our patient room to get our insurance info instead of making us do it all in the lobby and needing to wait longer for care. Oh and parking was so close to the doors, free and easy. Honestly, knowing you have somewhere this great to take your kids if needed is the best feeling as a parent.

Everything went great, until we were sent home with the wrong dosage of medication and wrong quantity. My daughter is 7, and she had surgery to repair her growth plate and broken bone in her arm and elbow. As we ran out of pain meds only a half a day later (giving her the amount they told me to give her) I tried calling the nurse line, I was told someone would call me back. They did not!! Then I called again and they got me through to the surgeon whom shamed me at first. Then hours when we were on our way to our local hospital, he called back hours later apologizing once they realized their mistake. My daughter was sent home with the wrong dosage of pain medication! She was in pain and we had to come back (45 minutes away) and wait another two hours while they fixed their mistake. Now, I realize mistakes happen! But this was inexcusable. My child was suffering in pain for a whole day before this was fixed. I’m so disgusted by all this. I would never want another family to experience what we went through. How unbelievably unprofessional and distasteful this experience was.

I gave birth to my baby girl here. Unfortunately I lost her due to an Encephalocele birth defect. Going through such a painful experience, every staff member who helped care for me, showed extreme care and kindness. They helped my husband and I have our final moments with our daughter. I appreciate every one who helped make this experience a little less painful. Would recommend.

This place deserves the best rating possible! They took care of my son's punctured lung and every nurse and doctor was great! I think one of his nurses name was Terry but she was scheduled 16 hours and was great with my son the whole time. They also have tge Ronald McDonald House inside and the geek squad gives free games and movies for the kids to play and watch

I came here for years with my kids never had a 5-Hour wait time until today. And it seems like everybody who came out the door we're not in any Rush to help people. It just seemed like another day at the office. I feel like they've become very laksa daisical in their approach to treatment of illnesses in children and also I feel like they're just here for a check. I feel like they run up a tab to your medical and don't really try to get down to the root of the problem. By the way I'm talking about the emergency staff not the regular staff.

Our son was at children’s hospital for 6 days and I will never forget the way they treated us during our difficult time. They treated us like family and answered any questions we had at anytime without them feeling like we were an inconvenience. Very caring and loving people there. Only want to go back to say hello to the nurses and doctors instead of a patient next time. We hope to do that soon by giving back to the Ronald McDonald house and serve families food at the hospital :). Keep up the quality of care children’s. You are a positive asset to our state!!

This ER was the worst I’ve ever been to and they are supposed to be one of the best hospitals specializing in children. My 1 year old daughter was showing signs of a concussion and we waited over 3 hours in a filthy germ covered waiting room with about 20 other sick/ injured children. One little toddler broke his arm and was there longer than we were. Another child had fallen and cut his eye and was bleeding on the floor. Finally decided to take my daughter elsewhere. The nurse made me sign a form and informed me, AFTER I had waited, that she was probably going to be just fine! Then as I’m leaving at midnight I get to pay a $7 parking fee for literally not having my child seen. Outrageous!

Extremely unprofessional doctors and nurses here. Will be filing grievances. But then again if you have MA and are poor you aren't able to take care of your kids...thanks for the terrible patient care Children's. Obviously they care more about making money than they do offering equal care to all types of people. Dr. Hudson is a terrible doctor too! It's no wonder he has been taken to court for ethics. Extremely unprofessional and really rude.

Hospital staff is great, clean area for the most part, but deducting a star do to poor billing. Billing department does not send statements or itemized billing just a demand letter. They do not give you the recent activity to your account like if an HRA makes a payment behind the scenes depending on how your HRA works. Their third party administrator is rude and will make any questions more difficult than they should be just to get an itemized statement. The 3rd party administrator has even used false names so you cannot report them to the facility. I am writing this after 3 different visits only 1/3 of them have been negative from beginning to end...1/3 was a 50/50 and only one experience was perfect. I hope they invest in better administrative services for their business office to improve the quality and overall experience from beginning to end.

I go here quite a bit for my asthma, and we get in and out really fast it's awesome but today my brother had to go to Specialty Diagnostics the one of the concerns I had was that the doctor had wiped my brothers chest with a rag and then threw it on the floor and then 5 minutes later picked up that Rag and wiped it on him again

I grew up going to this place and never had an issue. However, yesterday my mom took my younger siblings for a check up and pediatrician Katherine Ann Otto was extremely rude and ended up yelling at my mom to the point where she had to leave and couldn’t stay for the entire appointment. It was extremely uncomfortable and made the boys cry. Would not recommend this place to anyone. This has been one of the worst experiences here and it’s very sad to have to leave this place just because of a terrible pediatrician who should not be allowed kids.

This place is elegant & clean. They have great help desks staff. You should find out exactly what floor or building your appointment is in, or you'll have to walk back and forth between buildings through the skyway, or walking outside in the cold winter. I learned the hard way, hahahaha.
