My SO and I both took the morning off work today and rearranged our schedules so he could accompany me to a women’s health procedure scheduled at 8:30. The designated ramp parking situation was worse than we were anticipating and required a lot of walking, so we got to the front desk at around 8:37. The receptionist finished the check-in at 8:41 and we were turned away, me literally in tears, because “the system auto-cancels if you’re more than 10 minutes late.” In the meantime, a nurse walked by and made a rude comment about the lateness. I was offered an appointment that afternoon but could not take the entire day off so went home. Absolutely ridiculous and a complete waste of time. There is no good reason I couldn’t be seen this morning when I was 7 minutes late. These appointments are extremely difficult for me due to PTSD and I’ve been working up the courage to make and attend this appointment for months. I’ve been seen here for years but I’m done. Don’t go here if you want to be treated like a human being.

I had severe stomach pain that mysteriously appeared one night and couldn't eat due to pain. This provider appropriately ordered a Helicobacter Pylori blood test, which is a bacteria that can live in your intestines. The test was negative. I asked whether the test could be wrong and the provider didn't know. She simply ordered it again, which was again negative. This led to an entire year of severe pain and being unable to sleep through the night until I finally had an endoscopy that revealed I had a fulminant H. Pylori infection and my stomach was raw and bloody from this. It turns out that you aren't supposed to rely on the blood test, as 25% of people who have H. Pylori don't test positive and there are much more reliable tests. I had a duodenal ulcer from this infection and since it went untreated for a year, have had over a decade of subsequent pain and problems. No one ever asked me a social history, which would have revealed that I had traveled in Africa, lived in Central America and spent months on Native American reservations, all of which are risk factors for H. Pylori infections. I didn't receive any care at all here at Boynton when I could have been referred to the Infectious Disease department at the UMN or any number of clinics in the area (such as Mayo, etc...). The complete disregard for my care has had lasting, negative impacts on all aspects of my life, resulting in three completely unnecessary gastrointestinal surgeries and subsequent paralysis of my organs when all I needed was a combination of antibiotics. Ironically, my brother had the same infection (we traveled together) and was treated appropriately in a third world country. Go elsewhere for your healthcare needs.

Got denied STD testing for having a runny nose. They don't even ask about runny noses on their online covid screening. How was I supposed to know I'd be denied before waking up at 7:00 am on the day of my finals?

I've been to Boynton many times over the past 2 years. Although I've had a bit of a wait on occasion, my experience at Boynton has been much better than most other healthcare facilities I have visited. The staff are very courteous and I have a great relationship with my primary healthcare provider.

Rude customer service on general line and keep interrupting and dismissing your questions. Very unprofessional and act like you are bothering them when you call in yet it is their job. Do something about this. Horrible experience

Waited over an hour on the phone to speak to a nurse on a weekend and it was never answered. Their hours are very limited. Given that health issues arise at any time of the day and week, it’s better you find a care provider that has more availability.

Definitely feel as though Boynton could improve their services. I was seen here a few times for minor injuries and check ups and white times took FOREVER. It does however, have everything that you could need. Staff were alright.

It's ridiculous that there is not a health option for students on the student benefits plan for weekend care. As a medical student, our clerkships are NOT accommodating to medical appointments and we often have last-minute mandatory patient encounters or evaluations and are delayed from getting out of clinic. We also don't know our clerkships schedule until the week before we start each rotation, further complicating the process of scheduling appointments. Our days off are typically weekend days, when Boynton is not open. So our options are: schedule an appointment and pray to God you can get out of clinic in time to make it, or put it off until it becomes an urgent care problem. I'm not even going to get into the lack of parking options due to the proximity to other campus buildings, which is a problem for those of us who are rotating off campus and need to drive from clinic to Boynton. Overall, these issues could be mitigated by implementing weekend care options.
