Found this place on Groupon and I'm glad I did! Atmosphere Essentially a charming little lodge you'd find tucked away in an enchanted mountain forest. Front Desk Latasha was so pleasant and accommodating. Made it very easy to settle in. Exam Dr. Lanheim and Mr. Pink Nate (pardon me if I messed up the names) helped me feel at ease and welcome during the testing and cleaning. Aftermath The doctor gave gave a thorough and accessible understanding of what was happening and what needed to be done. He even drew pictures to help explain! Verdict This place is great, plus their own in house coverage plan helps immensely with insurance anxiety. Check them out ?

An excellent, family-owned dental practice in the Highlands. They take great care of my teeth and I highly recommend them instead of the big corporate chains that operate on a "quantity over quality" model. Never had a bad experience here.

if there is an negative star ,i would have given this to them , pathetic/worst experience with them , it's been 4 months i that i have been following up with them regarding my insurance thing, they don't know to how apply claims for the insurance company i believe, its been 4 months still my claim is not done properly, in my insurance portal they say to pay x amount , but this people are saying me to pay 2x amount ( god knows why) if i called them for further information they will say they will get back to me ,but never did , and i emailed /called no response from them ( they always say doctor will get back to me , but they never came back , but bills they will send to my home , Worst Dental thing in Louisville, please be aware of this people

I really do understand your frustration with your insurance company. We have the same frustration with third party payers every single day. As it stands right now, your insurance company says there is a "check in the mail" that was cut last week. Typically, they will sit on the check for another week or two before it will get to us. This way they can earn more interest on the money they are holding back from us. Please understand there is nothing unusual about it taking 4 months for us to get our money from them. We are small businesses extending 30 to 180 day zero interest loans to multimillion dollar corporations. Please be patient, we expect insurance to pay eventually.

Best dentist office I've been to, hands down. Dr. Young is friendly, gentle, and great about answering questions and explaining what she's doing as she works. She was careful to make sure that anesthetic had kicked in before starting to work on my cavities, and clearly explained what signals to look for so I was aware when the anesthetic was working. Everyone on staff has been friendly and helpful. They were great about getting things lined up with my dental insurance and letting me know what to expect with costs of service. In addition to all that, Dr. Linehan worked on my partner during a dental emergency that happened earlier during the pandemic, when pretty much everything else was closed. My little family is so grateful for the excellent work of Arts and Crafts Dental!

Well trained and skilled in the profession, Dr. Linehan is also very personable and kind. The comfortable atmosphere, personal attention, and good conversation put me at ease. It felt like I was in a barber's chair from the 60's and not the orthopedic assembly line I've been used to other places. I highly recommend Arts and Crafts. I really enjoyed my first visit to Arts & Crafts Dental! The staff were kind and patient, and I never felt pushed around. The setting is very homey—which makes sense because it’s actually a family business! Their Covid precautions were very thorough with air filtration by each exam chair and respirators worn by the whole staff full-time. I was very pleased that they are experienced with people who are uninsured/underinsured and they have a membership that gives you a great deal on your X-rays, cleanings, and fluoride treatments! This is a gem in town that I wish more of my friends knew about.

Arts and crafts dental has a professional and courteous staff, Dr. Linihan is kind and caring and is Interested in providing his patent with exceptional dental care. I came in to get a second opinion but after the consultation I stayed because of the genuine concern shown for me. The office is clean and cozy, the staff wares proper PPE at all time.(mask, gloves, face shields) with the outbreak of COVID-19 this is so important. I’ve never had to wait because there are no overlapping appointments. They even invested in a air filtration machines for each work station, they make every effort to keep the patient safe. If you can’t say these things about your present dentist you really should come see my dentist at Arts and Crafts Dental.

I just moved to Louisville from Nashville and was due for a cleaning. I had looked up reviews to find a new dentist and Arts & Crafts dental seemed to have good reviews. I called to make an appointment and the woman wasn’t very nice. I asked her if she needed my Delta Dental information ahead of time and she stated “no, just bring it with you.” So, the day of my appointment I fill out all of my information and hand it to her and she kept saying it was wrong and that I needed my Delta Dental card? It’s in my dad’s name, and if you have delta dental insurance, you know that they only give one card and that goes to the policy holder. However, I have a picture of his card on my phone which I use when I have an appointment and it has never been a problem before. She seemed frustrated with me but I was giving her all the information i had. She then told me to just go on into my cleaning and she would figure it out later. So they took x-rays and cleaned my teeth and asked if I had any questions. I have a crown that I got 20 years ago and asked about getting a permanent one since I got this one when I was 6. The dentist was nice and she told me the lady at the front would get me an estimate on if I want to get the crown replaced. So after my appointment, I go to check out and she was being very rude. She said my dad gave me the wrong information and that I need to call delta dental? So I googled their phone number because I didn’t know what else to do. Then she said “just leave I’ll have to figure it out on my own. You’re free to go!!!” So I left, very confused.. I’ve never had a problem with insurance before and was hoping she could finish doing her job the correct way. I left with no answers about replacing my crown and no answers on if she could figure out how to input my insurance. 4 weeks later, I get a bill!? So we call about it and she was probably the most unnecessarily mean old woman I have ever heard in my life. She said “I should know better and I should know that I had x-rays taken this year already!!” I move around frequently so I’m a new patient and many dental clinics and I have never had any issues or been charged for anything without even being notified. She acted as if I was an idiot and stated it is not her job to check and see if I had had x rays before??? I think she was just trying to cover up the fact that she couldn’t properly look up Delta Dental of Kentucky in the first place. I didn’t ask for x-rays. I went to get my teeth cleaned. I left with an unnecessary bill and was spoken to like I was not worth her time. I DO NOT recommend Arts & Crafts dental. Extremely rude and unprofessional to new clients. Which is a shame because I love the highlands.

Very rude lady at the front desk. She is the one in charge of dealing with your insurance. She will NOT call and check to see when your last X-rays were taken (her own words), so your insurance will bill you if they only pay for one set in a certain time period! She was rude during our visit and even more rude when I called to discuss the bill. Of course we canceled all future visits! Will not be going back!

Had a "semi-emergency". Got an appointment within 24-hours. Crown repaired temporarily, detailed cleaning and appointment made to begin a complete crown replacement the following day. Impressed with COVID-19 precautions, including masks, face shields along with usual ADA suggested gloves and plastic shielded high-touch areas. The new air filters from "Surgically Clean Air" are a welcome precaution. Overall, a very professional, friendly and efficient dental office.

I have been a patient at Arts and Crafts Dental for many years, and they are like family to me. I see Dr. Young who is incredibly supportive and understanding , as well as being a great dentist. I have been able to get my oral health problems under control with her help and regular visits. She is also interested in holistic health and helps me make connections between my oral health and other health issues. If I have a problem between visits they get me in right away and want to be sure I get my concern resolved. I really enjoy my appointments at Arts & Crafts. I usually see Dr. Young but have had Dr. Linehan work on my teeth once, as well. Their offices are clean, my appointments have always been on time, and they go out of their way to make their patients feel comfortable. I went to Arts and Crafts Dental for my first visit for a routine cleaning. I practice good dental hygiene, get regular cleanings and before the visit, I had never had a cavity. Throughout the cleaning, Dr. Young commended me on how healthy my mouth was. When she was finished, she told me I had SIX cavities and would need to return three separate times to have them all filled. I came back for one filling session then decided to get a second opinion from my former dentist in my hometown. He confirmed that I did not have any cavities, and he found it would be difficult for even a conservative dentist to call the staining on my molars cavities. Fast forward a few weeks to when I receive the EOB from my dental insurance company and see that I was overcharged out-of-pocket over $70. Only giving two stars instead of one because they admitted to their accounting error and refunded me over the phone.

Bought a Groupon for a cleaning. It was affordable and the staff was friendly and helpful. Overall the office felt a bit unprofessional due to the outdated design and in my opinion was a bit cluttered. I also experienced pain for the first time while getting my teeth cleaned and I felt like my needs were not quickly observed as the doctor and assistant were talking amongst each other quite a bit. I think they have every desire to serve and assist their patients and I hope my critiques assist them in providing a better experience.

My wife and I used to have Humana insurance and Dr. Young used to be in network. When we switched to a different insurance we told the office right away. Dr. Young was not in network with the new insurance. They did not tell us about that change until a year later, and only when I asked why our bill was so high. The billing person, Avril, was rude to me. As my insurance is through UofL, I asked HR for help. Dr. Young eventually agreed to give me a discount. When I received the new bill, I noticed that the "discount" did not apply to what we had already overpaid. I talked with Avril again. She said Dr. Young would call me. That was about a month ago and she never called. Update: I am editing my original review to downgrade it from 2 stars to 1. My original review said: "Dishonest billing practices. The actual dental work is fine." Well, it turns out the dental work is not fine either. After I went to another dentist, they found that I had "recurrent decay" in a tooth Dr. Young had just filled a few months earlier.

Do NOT go to this place. They are absolute crooks. They have sent me to collections for cancelling an appointment I never scheduled. Obviously they have bookkeeping and management issues. Worst experience I've ever had with a business in this city. How can you be so penny pinching that you bill someone $50 for an appointment that was 100% never confirmed. I will be reporting to the BBB.

Pleasent experience and I hate going to the dentist. Never felt any pain. Priced slightly above national average but i don't feel ripped off. Was a little apprehensive about the visit because of some reviews, but once I got there it dawned on me that the office is dead center hipsterville and no matter how much you accommodate the snowflakes, they complain about being victimized or not being coddled. So ignore the bad reviews.

Has the Art of lying to their patients! I went in for a root canal & Dr. Linehan made me pay that very day WITHOUT telling me he DID NOT even finish my root canal! After visiting a different Dentist to get a crown with a better price, I then learned my root canal wasn't even finished! I was shocked! I then went back to Dr. Linehan so he could finish my root canal & he said my tooth was cracked & wanted me to shell out more money to get an implant!!! Are you kidding me?! I was suspicious, so I went to an Endodonist to get a second opinion & he looked thoroughly using a scope which Dr. Linehan did not! The Endodonist found no crack! even taking out the little bit of filling that Dr. Linahan put inside. At this point I did not trust Dr. Linahan so I had the Endodonist complete my root canal successfully & he said it was a strong tooth & it didn't need to be pulled! Dr. Linahan would not give me my total money back & I lost over $700! He clearly knows I'm a single mom & he doesn't care! So before visiting this dentist, BEWARE! If you get a root canal, make sure he will complete it that very day or he will take your money!!! Wondering how many other perfectly good teeth have been taken?!

My wife and I changed dentists a few years ago and we still make jokes about how ridiculously hard Arts & Crafts Dental tried to find reasons to fill our teeth. We were in our early 20s and were getting regular cleanings but every time they would find an excuse to fill a tooth. At first it was no big deal because I hadn't went to the dentist a lot before going to them. However, when my girlfriend (now wife) went with me and started having the same issue I got suspicious because she kept up with regular dental check ups. This went on for a period of a few years and we eat very healthy homemade meals without a lot of sugar so it wasn't some neglectful coincidence on our part. Finally, we went to them one last time and they tried to fill another tooth or two on my wife and I. We just refused their services and went to someone else a few months later (we expected this and wanted something for another dentist to compare). I made an effort once to contact my insurance company about my concern because my new dentist had a different view about getting those fillings, but it sounded like it would be very hard to prove anything. They could just claim they are more thorough.
