Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield Kentucky is the worst insurance I have ever had. I have been unable to use my HRA debit card for a year now. They claimed an over charge but that was corrected6 months ago and they say the provider still needs to credit them. Get other insurance if you can.

The phone system is terrible. There is screeching garbled hold music between long holds after speaking with people I cannot hear. You know open enrollment is coming every year. Why not put systems in place to support your customers?

This compost pile company pays therapist’s half what they are work and also demands a co pay from the individual. It is a joke. This isn’t insurance. 100 percent of the time you pay more to have this insurance than you would to not have insurance at all

I don't know what I was expecting. Maybe that's my fault. I thought "Hey, it's insurance. They're all basically the same. Just get one that covers what you need and it should be easy, right?" WRONG. If you have ANY medical issues that need to be covered, LEAVE NOW. They do not care about you; they will take your money and literally let you die. I have been trying to get a critical prescription for OVER THREE WEEKS and they refuse to cover it (despite their website telling me it's covered), and turned down my doctor's prior authorization because she "didn't put down enough information." Similarly, they aren't covering the prescription because it wasn't written EXACTLY RIGHT for their system to understand even though the prescription written leads to the SAME PRODUCT. I'm now on steroids to treat the new symptoms I have because I've been without my original prescription. This should be illegal. STAY AWAY. If I could report them for being a detriment to their customers' health, I would. The irony of a health insurance company being a cancer is not lost on me.

Anything you can think of this company and everyone of their employees especially who they hire for customer service is the most unprofessional and incompetent people I've ever spoke to. I get hung up on 90% of the time. They never pay on claims or will discuss or try to be helpful in anyway. I wish insurance companies weren't just allowed to steal money out of Americans pockets and they are.

Where do I even start. I purchased a plan through the marketplace at the end of 2017 for the sole reason of “my government requires me too”. I decided to go get a physical even though I am 29 years old and in perfect health, just because i hadn’t had one since college and I was told it would be covered. I opened the booklet I was mailed with my health insurance plan, picked the closest pcp to my home address and set an appointment. Fast forward 14 months later and I am stuck with over 1000 dollars in medical bills due to anthem denying my claim for being “out of network”. The staff at Norton even admitted that they did not know that they were out of network for my plan until January of 2019, my physical was in February of 2018. Not to mention I didn’t receive a bill until 7 months later, thank god I wasn’t actually sick or required multiple visits or I would be bankrupt. This has been hands down one of the worst experiences of my entire life, no wonder this company gets sued semi-annually. Avoid Anthem like your life depends on it, because it just might.

A letter arrived to my house. It says, "See how Smart 90* and Home Delivery may save you money on prescriptions." National average for reading solicitations and discarding is five words, which this appears to be. Through it in the trash only to discover this week that my family's prescription refills have been denied. I have six hours invested trying to manage prescriptions for my family. My option is to use a Smart 90 pharmacy, of which there are none in my area. Next option, Express Scripts will deliver to my home and leave on my front porch. We get packages stolen on a regular basis. Also there is no transition for prescription. It is Saturday, and I now have to reach out to each medical provider to write a new prescription, which I can't do until Monday. Will go two days without medication. Anthem please take note about critical communications to the families you are insuring to ensure no disruption of care and increased medical cause due to access to medications. Can't image how many people are being impacted! There is a tremendous opportunity for improvement. Please take note.

Your staff is poorly trained. When calling to find if a preapproval is necessary for a procedure I was told it did not. We proceeded and you denied payment. On followup with your staff I receive a different response each time. WTH are you doing? $12K bill!

An insurance company that literally can’t even cover a basic annual physical. What insurance company can’t cover a basic annual physical and labs? Anthem, that’s the one. Unreliable, lies, can’t cover a basic treatment. Why go with a medical insurance that can’t even do the basics... Extremely sad.

Called customer service regarding a change in banks for auto premium payments. Worked one month and after that....nothing. Talking with the customer service rep was like talking to a wall. After two attempts to solve the problem, I'm not at all sure that customer service has a clue as to how a customer changes premium payments from one bank to another. Perhaps Anthem should have a rule "no texting and customer service work at the same time" or maybe the problem with customer service is something even greater.
