Thank you for saving my wife's life. Truly grateful to everyone in this hospital - ER, ICU, Security, etc. You're all AWESOME! Thank you so much.
Of all of hospitals on Oahu, outside of the Kaiser network, this has got to be one of the better hospitals to visit. I have visited the hospital, more time than I’d like to admit. From ER visits, doctor visits, and more, the staff here has treated both me and my wife very well. Even during these times, we were not treated any differently compared to prior to 2019. We have always been treated with respect and with the utmost care. It is because of their level of care, we prefer to have our health care only within Adventist Health. If push comes to shove, there is only one other hospital we would consider, but at all cost, we prefer to stick with Adventist Health for all of our health needs.
Got beat up by and harrassed by security when in care they told me to kill my self but if u like go we go one on one we go
Our family has used Castle’s ER several times over the last 2 years and each time has been a great experience. From the front desk staff, triage nurse, providers, nurses, radiology and administrative staff- they’ve all been respectful, timely, knowledgeable. I highly recommend their ER for any emergent medical needs
They are always friendly with a great personality, weather you are going for a COVID-19 test or doing a medical procedure inside the Hospital.
Thank goodness for everyone involved with this clinic. They know and care about their patients!
The best hospital in Hawaii. The staff, nurses , doctors are the best. The cardiac doctors are the best. I've been to all the hospital's on Oahu and Castle is the best.
Castle is one of the best hospital on the Island of Oahu and helps the community in times of our needs. They are giving job opportunities to all of the people who live here in Paradise of Hawaii.
Best hospital experience I have ever had. Fully engaged staff. I was in the psych unit. They provide you with resources to recover. And set you up with a personal social worker to assure your individual success outside of the unit! A God send!
18 Feb 2020 evening ... Emergency - Room #7 care Dr. T. D. Gromlich and Nurse & Techs team.... excellent patient focus, response and care, comprehensive tests, perfect assessment and next steps... plus outstanding advice to one long absent from a health care system/professionals.
My friend had to take me to Castles emergency room because it was closer to where we live, around the end of my visit while I was still in the room on the Emergency bed a lady came in claiming to be from their billing/insurance department. She asked me for my insurance cards and information. I gave her my blue cross blue shield insurance card ( I had from my father being a people office and I’m on it until I turn a certain age, not from me working and obtaining it) (yes someone questioned why I had that and where I got it from) and my military spouse dependent card that has the information they need for my Tricare prime on the back of it (because that works as the insurance card even though I was told it doesn’t by one of their workers) the lady came back and told me after she took it that they do not except Tricare and had me pay a $200 co pay right then and there. When the doctor came back he told me not to pay for it that they do except Tricare and he wasn’t sure why she told me that. I called Tricare and they said it covers ANY emergency room visit and that they NEVER got a request from it. I called the hospital only for not one but THREE people to confirm she never even put my Tricare prime insurance into the system. After talking to other people about it, I was told the same thing happened to them. I have been trying to contact bosses and management since Friday morning and nothing. I’m hoping they will call me back soon because this could have been prevented had this lady had done her job. I hope that someone is able to talk to her and correct her.
This was the best ER and surgical experience i have ever had at a hospital. I waited 5 minutes to be triaged and given a bed. Unheard of in the ER. Checkin was friendly and quick. The doctors, nurses, and surgeon were incredible and got me in and out the same day. They clearly communicated everything to be so i knew what was going on before during and what to do after my urgent surgery. Thank you Adventist I will recommend you to everyone and have peace of mind knowing how you all treat your patients. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating, clean and organized!
I took my husband over to castle park hospital there there in Hawaii my husband walk in and come out dead, not because of is heart but because what those two nurses did to him Theses nurses should be fired from working over there, I know they will hurt some others family again just like mine. Please I can not sleep at night every time I closed my eyes I see can still see them hurting my husband and when I told them to call doctor for my husband they laught at me and making fun at me.
Great care. Staff is awesome and i felt my mom was well taken care of.
Took my child into the ER for stitches, and glad I picked Castle. Parking was easy, and we were taken back right away. Most importantly, the nurses and doctor were super kind, attentive and professional. They put my child at ease during the whole process.
What a delight to have experienced the compassionate, caring, and professional nursing staff at this hospital. Sunny,Lorrane, Joanna,Kaoru we’re so attentive and helpful that my visit was like going to a resort. Definitely the Premier hospital in Oahu
What's with all the 5 star reviews by "Local Guides", and others with no specific experience? What is the relevance of those reviews? And, for those who registered a bad experience, all they got was an unsympathetic canned response, which kind of demonstrates the lack of compassion that people are complaining about.
Awesome imaging team, from registration to the tech the team rocks! Thank you for a quick and efficient service
The e.r. we're kind of rude, but the surgeons and nurses are top quality service. I had A broken arm recently randi and sharmaine were so frikn awesome my surgeon was awesome my nurses were so kind i love the staff you guys are my angels love you guys thank you
3 hours wait time. Still not been seen. The only good thing is the charge nurse. Triage nurse told me I should have been there a few hours early(in the ER) because I am not screaming or shouting I am not seen as severe.
Everyone was thorough and helpful. They gave direct instructions and very efficient.
I had a pulmonary testing done. The technician, Wendy, was absolutely fabulous. She made an otherwise boring test, exciting and fun. Had it not been for her energy and motivating character, I’m positive that the testing would’ve taken longer than it did.
I have been to all hospitals on Oahu by far one of the best. Clean facility from top to bottom. Professional staff very helpful and caring with a great security team on site. They have a Bistro inside with non-hospital type of food gourmet choices and desserts. Pretty awesome to check out if your there or in the area. 5 minutes from other eateries and a gas station if you ever end up here. ??
Count your lucky stars if you wind up here. I am leaving 5 stars because I want management and staff to continue to live up to this high praise as I am sure they will. There is so much more that could be said but just know you will be well taken care of and the warmth will come through in each memeber of the team you encounter. These, of course, are high stress jobs and each person here is doing their absolute best at every moment. Respect and gratitude are always met with respect and gratitude.
I moved here from Texas a couple months back. Everything is new to me, I felt so isolated, just saying...honestly. I had this annual exams last year ...my health insurance from Dod as civilian says no need for referrals but my chosen PCP referred me anyways to this facility for my mammogram. Little did I know that I am out of network ( I WISH THESE RECEPTIONIST TOLD ME, AT LEAST) otherwise I should have went to other facility where I am 100% covered. LESSON LEARNED: READ MANUALS, ASK FOR FURTHER INFORMATION) because other people will take advantage of someone's stupidity....ugh!
Ever since me and husband been station in Hawaii I have to say castle medical center has been nothing but amazing!! Best center I have been too especially the obgyn!! Great midwives and everything!! Coming from a person who experience bad obgyn in trippler! I’m glad I got recommended here, also recommending other people to go to this especially for OBGYN!! ❤️
They have GOT to figure out how to shorten their check in process. Half an hour is too long!

I had a great experience at Castle, I broke my ankle on my first day in Oahu, everyone from the receptionist, to the nurses, x-ray tech, tech that did my splint and of course the doctor were fantastic. Very professional, extremely nice and I was in and out of there in under 2 hrs having been attended for my problem in the best way possible. Great care, wonderful professionals.
6 hours to get my son stitches after splitting his face open in a nasty fall, empty rooms and staff seemingly lounging around. I'm furious, if negative ratings were possible I'd throw the book at them. Disorganized and unable to complete simple procedures in a timely manner. I will happily drive my injured, sick, bleeding or barfing family members to kapiolani from now on. Shame on you Castle.
Many thanks to the doctors and staff for the excellent care they afforded me. They were both professional and considerate. Answered all my questions, and went the extra mile.
I literally had to go to a different emergency room for a second opinion. The second emergency room read the 13 page packet they gave me and literally said, " This is so stupid, they managed to hand you a packet without diagnosing you or treating you at all."
Fire Erin R Smith.
Ended up in ER for the first time ever today. Never even been to a hospital. I felt so vulnerable and scared on top of being sick enough to land in the ER. I was so blown away by how quick, efficient, thoughtful and kind the staff was. Matthew was an amazing nurse, and Kevin the charge nurse was super on top of it as well. I hope I never have to go back again, God forbid, but if I do, I do hope that Castle is where I would end up. What started out as the worst case scenario turned out to be the best case scenario. Oh and the facility was super clean and super private. They brought everything to the room so I didn’t have to be wheeled around for various tests, X-rays, EKG’s etc. Definitely impressed with Castle.
I had to go into ER last Tuesday early morning. I ended up having to get surgery to remove an inflamed appendix. From the moment I arrived, I was treated very professionally, with compassion, and great care. The staff, nurses, doctors, everyone I met was friendly and attentive. They very efficient in getting my necessary tests and reaching a diagnosis, responding to my requests for anything, and putting me at ease prior to surgery. I can't say enough great things about this hospital, especially the ER staff. Even the volunteer who wheeled me out to meet my wife who picked me up was awesome, smiling, super friendly. 2 Thumbs Up, keep up the awesome work you guys!!!!
Very clean and sanitary
I absolutely love the labor and delivery staff that helped me give birth to my daughter on Monday. They made the experience so wonderful and not once did I ever feel like an inconvenience to them. They are the most compassionate people. They took wonderful care of my daughter in the Nursery and always made me feel like everything was going to be okay. Thank you to every staff and doctor that made me feel calm and loved. I will definitely be coming back if the chance ever came up!
Was woken up late at night with severe ear pain, after having been sick for a week, and told by Urgent Care that what I had was viral. Staff was prompt in having me seen, offices were clean, and the nurses and Dr. were extremely caring. Everyone showed compassion and took the time to listen to my complaint. Dr. gave my diagnosis/treatment plan, and the discharge nurse took time to sit and speak with me about my treatment, made extra recommendations, and spoke on a personal level. Very pleased with the care offered, and appreciated the card mailed to my home.
They where so judgmental for a Christian Hospital. Your better care would be going to town. The workers in ER has no class. They stereotype people then give the less patient care. Never got treatment like this. Castle services is bad. I ask the Doctore to please clean my quarters size soar and then does nothing but send me out with antibiotics. Why all that attitude? The doctor under his breath as he was walking out gave me a rude come back let me dig out your soar. Talking down at me. Today my soar blitzed out and I can see my flesh exposed. I don't have a ride back to them, what the hell I suppose to do. You can't trust people that really don't care. Half ass services - 10 from the doctor and nurse! Castle is getting worst! Pay all the money for What?
Have never been here, but did know someone who was. Also met a man named Josh who worked there.
Great place to work filled with lots of friendly people!
Oh lord in heaven, I was seen here two consecutive weekends, treated kind of like a drug addict and then sent home with 12 hydrocodone. The nurses in the ER absolutely rock but the doctors? I'm not quite sure how many drug addicts they get versus real patients in pain but by my second trip, I was ready to take the scalpel out of their hand and do the damn procedure myself. I'm not naming names, unfortunately, you know who you are and can live with yourselves. I went to Queen's on 12/31 (thanks Castle for an absolutely awful New Year's Eve) and had a perirectal abscess I/D that I had lived with the insufferable pain for at least a week (thanks castle) and will undoubtedly be charged needlessly for by your "out of network" doctors. Yeah, CASTLE, I'm NOT paying you for crap sevice. Queens fixed me up, drained me (I HAVE CROHN'S, CASTLE, AND YOU KNOW THIS) They drained feces out of me, CASTLE, straight up feces, that you said, "WASN'T THERE) You guys seriously need about 4 more years of experiential learning. Jesus ever loving Christ on a crutch!
We found the Castle Emergency Services staff to be very friendly and accommodating. We were pleased by the cleanliness and quality of the ER rooms and appurtenances. Verification of a suspected "broken foot" required X-rays - allowing an additional insight into the quality of the facilities. The ER doctor and RNs were "top notch", friendly, and compassionate. We have nothing but compliments relevant to our experience at Castle Medical Center.
The doc in the ER was very rude to my wife. No compassion and very sarcastic.
The worst experience. The ER staff were careless and unprofessional. The ER doctor was the worst human being I've ever come across. He was sarcastically rude, without an ounce of compassion and gave me "the hand" to the face when I started crying because I was in so much pain and overwhelmed by just how rude this person was. He had the nerve to tell me, a mother, how painful childbirth was and it was inconcievable to say my pain was a 10 because apparently that is reserved for child birth. The only nice person I came across was the head nurse. Immediately after the doctor left, i requested my discharge papers while still in severe pain because i knew i couldn't trust him with my life. I do not recommend this ER facility.
Wife gave birth to our daughter here. Great experience. 36 hour attempt at natural birth wife decided to go c section and they were ready. Our 8.5 lb girl is so adorable and hardly cries. Breastfed successses same day of birth
The care and comfort they provide is exceptional. The professional service is extraordinary!
I have just been released from Castle Medical Center and I was given the help and care I needed. The staff (with the one exception of an ER Dr. who had a dismissive attitude) treated me with kindness and respect. I have been to Castle for surgeries and to the ER in the past - this was my first stay in. I would recommend Castle to any of my friends - and I have.
By far the worst experience at a hospital ever. Emergency doctor is an idiot. I belive they mean well, just don't have a clue what's going . We then had to return to the ER 3 more times due to the fact they have no clue what Hawsii's state laws are with addresses, prescription amounts, and getting to send the the visual for the night to monitor 2nd degree burns. They are incompetent!
Awesomeservices
Great service and good Doctors.
Site says they open till 10pm. Called twice @7:20pm and nobody answered the phone
I had a full knee replacement at Castle in January 2011. The surgery took 40 minutes, and my knee works great. The hospital nursing in the Ho'okeepa Unit was extraordinary. I had to have a blood tranfusion due to a pre-existing condition and some careful monitoring to make sure the condition was controlled. I have never had such friendly, personable and professional nursing care, and I've had surgery or been a patient in a lot of hospitals both in the United States and abroad. Castle is one of the very best.
BEST expirence
Interesting Star-Advertiser article of the costs of Hawaii hospitals with Castle 2nd to Kaiser for price. And we know Kaiser is a for profit health care system so let us schedule your next test please and call it preventive care. But why is Castle 2nd most expensive? The care and treatment is no better or expensive than Straub, Kuakini or Queens for Christ sake. I hear in the community of the outrageous demands put on the Castle home care nurses, wanting them to work for free by making them chart on their own time or not chart clearly so patient care can be systematically delivered. Shame on the greedy sociopathic corporate administrators! I also hear of rampant medical fraud cover ups, and bonuses given to middle management to shut up the whistle blowers. Castle have no moral compass and if there was ever a time of standardized pricing, it is now!
